Burg, I cut out two rectangular pieces of foam and laid them diagonally throughout the length of the fuse to make it more sturdy. This seems to work just as well if not better than the carbon rod.
I am building this one a second time and going WAY light this time I have an AXI a10-9l 1700 kv motor, a 12 amp esc, 3 5gram servos, and I am getting some 250 mah 2s 30-45 c batteries for it so It will be like 6-7 oz, Hopefully
yeah just built mine a few days ago but its a little heavy flexible and silly looking cause its my first pdf plan built plane. its heavy cause it has a 1300mah 3s lipo 30 amp switch mode esc, and an eflite park 450 motor in it plus a 10x4.8 gws slowflyer propfor that hovering thrust. it hovers at about 2/5ths stick so its got plenty of power.
@RCvehicleGuy WOW! I read your comment, I have the exact same power system in mine! 1,300 3S, Eflight park 450! My Extra with a 800mAh 2S and a 370 motor flys much better.
@PinkYakRC yeah i bet, half the weight and 3d foamies aren't the thing to get heavy, i dont have that plane anymore and ive recycled it for parts in new foamies
Thanks ! It's not very expensive (about USD 100) and a lot of fun !
Transmitter+receiver = 50
Motor = 8
Servo's (4x) = 12
Speed controller = 8
Battery = 10
Building plans are free. Just ad a few bucks for a sheet of foam, some tape a few hours of free time and you're there ! The parts you can use for every kind of plane ...
Hi, I have a more expensive 6ch transmitter system (additional channels for landing rears, lights, bomb doors, etc). But if you're just starting I suggest trying to find a cheaper 4 channel 'ESKY' system. They sell it in the US at all kinds of websites .. get it with 4 servo's and a xxx mHz receiver. Good luck (see your private message)
Hi David ! This is great ! Thanks so much for your comment .. I love the song. You guys have any plans to come to Holland for concerts soon ? Got some fans waiting here ... ;-)
Yes it flies much more relaxed ! You can play a liitle bit with the CG to get a different caracter. Our 'f riend' Bary shot the crap out of it during the 4th run .. but with 5 bucks for a sheet of 5mm depron and some free time I will rebuild it again (or a F117). Is your blue one still in one piece ?

Oh yeah! It's 9mm EPP. Tough as flexible nails.
Coincidence: my next build is the F-117, then Mig-29.
Going to film the Su-47 in a few minutes.
