...I really never got why Larry was in the show...he was just there. What, did Speilberg owe the voice-actor a favor and offered him a place in the show?

And his voice in the opening sounds nothing like it does in the show. And from what I remember, whenever he was on the show, he would occasionally turn toward the audience and say, "Hello!" in the most obnoxious way possible.

To set the record straight: Charlie Howell and I wrote this episode as a protest to the network who were talking about adding characters to the show. We wanted to show that adding a character would destroy the chemistry between Pinky and Brain. That's why Larry is always in the way, is an afterthought every time Brain talks and is absolutely no help in the plan And Brain is such a genius that even in this alternate reality he knows there shouldn't be a Larry.
