Armitage as Mr. Darcy? Mr Thornton > Mr Darcy. I think Mr. Thornton to be superior to all periodic drama hero's. I think Richard could portray all Austen hero's, I mean look at his performance in North & South. He can be stern, overbearing, menacing as a mill owner as well as being a passionate lover with smouldering longing glances (final scene N&S!) If he were to portray Darcy I think he would surpass all the other actors, even Firth! There is just so much passion in Richard..

in terms of 'phwarr' factor:p Eliot Cowan does it for me, tho i have to say having read the book Colin Firth is probably the best, he was made for that role.
