  • We never do breaking like this in our Dojo...

We only break things like broomsticks etc. because that's about the strenght of the elbowjoint and simular joints...

If we want to use full force on something, we usually use the makiwara or a foamplate held by a fellow student.

But I would like to try boardbreaking once, just to see for myself that I could do it xD

  • See comments my channel.

  • i would rather fight a man, at least he can hit back,or hit the man with a piece of wood

  • i would rather fight a man, at least he can hit back,

  • great side kick !!!!!

  • how about pacquio huh??he is the shit!!!

  • that is TAEKWONDO...i will teach you..

there are the MARTIAL ARTS..sistem of fight...karate is a sistem of fight from japan

karate is a style of martial art, teakwondo is other from korea..

amercian people do u learned now?

martial art is something and KARATE IS other...taekowndo is not karate, hapkido is not karate kung fu is not karate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How does this relate to speech class? Please explain. lol.

  • moron!! martial arts ain`t about breaking boards or bricks, this is for noobs... try to learn something real... try kung fu or wushu or shotokan, btw... belts DONT exist in martial arts.. you are a student or a master, Period!

I practice martial arts in "HISAO LEE Martials Arts Academy" here in Panama

  • @agittens sorry...but real martial arts is from the heart....there is no gym for this....you have to push yourself really hard....but in the end you will learn your body in a way no one can predict....sure there are lots of nerds out there who make a failing attempt to kick....ignore it....there is bound to be something genuine out there...

  • @JavaSpitLava 100000% agree with you

  • @agittens thx....i put my heart and soul into that passage....lol

  • maybe its because of my size but breaking those boards has never been impressive to be

my ex teacher placed a board on 2 besser blocks for me to break and I complained about it being a pointless excersise and that I wanted to break the brick instead

he said if I could break the brick he'd give me his belt there and then.., well I broke the brick lol.., needless to say he still has his belt lmao

thats the part that frustrates me., being 120-130kgms of muscle and asked to break some balsa wood

  • porcaria sem forma, haitou sem sentido e yoko sem hikiashi, e o mais engracado é o cara achando que neguinho precisa ser faixa preta p quebrar tabuazinha.....que pelo jeito que o cara bate, a faixa preta nem é dele

  • If I am ever attacked by a piece of wood...I know what art to use.

  • Haha... if you ever get attacked by a piece of wood. Make sure and let me know. That'd be interesting.

  • some karateka break wood - it's because they want to test if they can do damage. Would work on bones too.

...and on people with bones... ^^

  • Bones are stronger than cheap, dry, pine boards.

The people wearing them tend to move too. Punching bags seem to work pretty well for striking too.

This guy can strike. No doubt! Breaking boards seems like a fun challenge too. But I think even the poster would agree not to make too much of it.

  • hm... Your right. I do Karate myself (3rd Kyu) and i never broke a board (as though i'm interested if i could do it).

But you won't ever be attacked by a punching bag, too. :P

  • Ur right, we shouldn't make too much of it. But we shouldn't make too little of it either.

Remember that breaking 2" = breaking the femur (as far as applied force) so there are similarities

The main thing is being able to hit something hard at full force, bare knuckle so as to condition your body. Hence, my hand in the video. Not too many sparring partners willing to do that.

Breaking boards doesn't make you a bad ass. It just helps apply your art on wood (or brick) instead of some guys head

  • @imitchellgill

    hahaha

    !!!!

  • i do shotokan but it dosent looks like it.. But im not sure tho. Have to see more to reconize it:P

  • You do Shotokan? me too!

  • he is not showing off

  • What style are you?

    Is it Shotokan?

  • Looks like your doing Tae Kwon Do not Karate, did you have ITF on your top as well. You say it took you 2yrs to have a black belt!! Does that not tell you something about the school your at! No diss intended though, just curios as to how you fell about your ability and grade.

  • poor mechanics on the reverse punch. that's why the board didnt break

  • very simple.haha

  • wow good kicks

  • hi, how long do you learn this..Class of Karate, Aoki

  • i started when i was 7, and did this video when i was 19, so about 12 years at this point. i'm 23 now, but i haven't trained regularly in about 2 years.

  • how long does it take to get a black belt i know its probley diferant for everyone but like how many years does it useally take for the average person

  • oh man, it just depends on what style you're in, and how traditional your school is. it took me a little over 2 years. however, i have friends that it took like 5 or 6 years. the key is to never loose the white belt mentality. what i mean by that is you must remember that there is always going to be someone better than you, and that there is ALWAYS more to learn. and if u keep that humility, u'll learn that the belt around your waste is the least important thing

  • well thanks for your time, because it will help me out i am desideing to take karate lessons and i just wanted to know how long it takes becuase i was curious thanks for your help

  • Yeah man... no worries. If you've got some questions on particular styles or anything, feel free to send me a message & I'd be glad to help ya out anyway I can.

  • amazing

  • nice! loved it :)

  • thanks.

  • This is Taekwondo

  • i hope u guys know, they always dry out the board like crazy, then make slits in the middle of the board so u can brake it easier.. and they crack the concrete bricks in the middle to make it easier to break.. i took martial arts b4 so did some of my friends...

  • in the JKA they do not make slits in the boards. but anyway, it's not difficult to break one board. i could pull a guy off the street with no training, and teach him in 5 minutes how to punch so as to break one board. it's 2 or more that's difficult.

  • yeah, just so you know, went to Home Depot and had them cut from a plank of white pine an hour b4 shooting. & a basic single board break can be taught in 5 mins, but its the understanding of the technique that is what is gained from doing this. it boils down to a really cool party trick that helps you understand more fully the subtle nuances of your art by hitting harder objects to simulate bone instead of trying to crack some dude's skull

  • awesome flying kick !! what style is this?? thanks

  • cool...cool....

  • "boards doooo n hie ..t baK " ..Bruce Lee (Enter the Dragon )

Circa 1973 ..Nice moves though ..great side Kick.

  • Yeah they do haha.

    Newton law.

Everything you hit will give you the equal or opposite reaction.

So you hit that hart, it will hit you back hard.

But don't qoute me on the specific words :P

  • nice move, never understodd how poeple like you can brake by hands
