My favorite thing about Randy was that he kept himself intact during his brief tenure as a rockstar. He stayed true to himself and was giving up being a rockstar in order to do what he really wanted (being a classical guitarist)

Any photographer knows you can't take an aerial photo from15 feet off the ground. I bet they barely missed the bus by just a few feet during the first two passes. On the third time, they were going for inches, but then something happened- a downdraft, speed stall or somebody bumped into the pilot from the g forces.

Randy's hobby was taking aerial photos of landscapes. He was fascinated with planes (Thus the Jackson "Concorde). He was terrified of heights and tried to avoid flying whenever he could. The tour bus had 10's of thousands of miles on it within a year of touring. Randy only went up for the following reasons
1. Andy Ayecock had taken up 2 others just minutes before
2. He wanted to take pictures of the country side.

It's ironic that the night before this happened, Randy was sitting on the bus talking with Ozzy and said "I don't think I want to be a rock n roller anymore". The bus driver who had been driving all night out of his mind on cocaine decided to take some guy's plane without permission, and Randy just wanted to go up to take photos.
@gilbet And so the pilot knowing that Ozzy was still asleep and hungover, thought it would be a good idea to buzz around the bus to wake him up. He did it a few times, but then at one point the plane's wing clipped the side of the bus and busted out all the windows and almost knocked the bus over which woke up Ozzy, then it hit a tree before it nose dived into the garage of a nearby house and burst into flames. Get your facts right.

Any photographer knows you can't take an aerial photo from15 feet off the ground. I bet they barely missed the bus by just a few feet during the first two passes. On the third time, they were going for inches, but then something happened- a downdraft, speed stall or somebody bumped into the pilot from the g forces.

It's ironic that the night before this happened, Randy was sitting on the bus talking with Ozzy and said "I don't think I want to be a rock n roller anymore". The bus driver who had been driving all night out of his mind on cocaine decided to take some guy's plane without permission, and Randy just wanted to go up to take photos.
