I have a Walkaloosa that has actually found out how to untie the bank robbers knot. Shocked me when I had him tied went to go and get something and as I came back around the corner he was walking up to me. Hes only 5 though.

Man i hate tieing ropes. It is so confusing!!! I prefer cross ties.

I agree with Zeke. But I'v even had the highwayman's come apart on me especialy when tieing to a large base or something with some give. I find the mooring hitch to be the most secure quick rel that is easy to tie, and usable with most the ropes I'v worked with. It dose tend to "stick" a bit with flat "ropes" like dog leashes tho.

The Bank Robber Knot is not a secure knot because it requires tension on the horse end of the rope or it just sorta loses its umph. Search under "Highwayman's HItch" and you will see the knot that does this work; and it is secure. It is also less complicated.
