@MusixMan81 Beside the fact that LOVER MAN is a Billie Holliday song and NOT Dinah Washington, Miss Washington has been dead since 1963, It is highly unlikely that she ever even heard of Patti Labelle. Patti didn't even begin recording with The Bluebelles until 1963.

Didn't Patti have the flu when she did this tour? I don't wanna get the lieing on nobody but thats what i had heared. Maybe she didnt but if it is true...SHE IS A BAD LADY!

I believe she had the flu/cold on an earlier tour. I think it was the "Released" tour in 1980/1981..and one of the performances was recently released on CD. The only reason I know is because the show was in DC (my hometown) and the one show me and my family was supposed to go to was cancelled. But the next night, she did TWO shows, after she felt a little better..and we were there. She even mentions doing the two shows on the CD. It was at Constitution Hall in DC.

Actually it is easier to sing while lying on your back, it puts your upper body in perfect alignment so you breath perfectly for singing. This performance is INSANE!! She is so great.
