They were clapping because it is a feat to get this airplane landed and stopped on the shortest commercial runway in the world when the weather is good, let alone when the runway is slick. Every take off and landing at Saba is at maximum performance for the airplane, both accelerating and braking. This video is a testament to the capability of the Twin Otter and also the Winnair pilots.
@Wildguitar007 Saba belongs to the Netherlands, it's an island in the caribbean, south of Sint Maarten. (google earth or maps: search for "Saba, Netherlands Antilles".)
about the clapping i,m from saba and did those flights almost every week never got used to it so i clap every time that i reached home safe best pilots i never heard them coplain about the clapping
sometimes we do appreciate the applause and nice comments. makes us love doing our job. most times we encourage good times for the passengers in the cabin
Aplauses from passengers must be felt so great for pilots :D

nice, the pilot stalled the plane over the runway, you can hear the horn going off right before touchdown. It takes a lot of skill to do that

What is the full place and location of "Saba" is it in a state country where?
Thanks :)

I was also wondering why they were clapping,
I figured it must have been a bunch of special needs people with learning difficulties on their holidays....

Are those folks gonna clap whenever their bus at home reaches a station?

Those passengers need to STFU when they land here. The pilot doesn't need the noise in the back lOL

rain doesnt affect and airplanes flight lol, only thing u got to worry about is winds and visibility
hotyute 3 years ago
not quite. Research suggest that rain does affect boundary layer.
starlinestudios 3 years ago 2
it can effect the tarmac, so it does effect the landing, in turn, it will effect the plane
