Looks like a nice motherboard. Tempting, except ASUS customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Everything from clueless support to outright hang-ups.

Hello. I P7P55D, and ati 6950 2gb. There are 2 slots: 1 (2.0_1 PCIe x16 slot (blue, at x16 link) 2 (2.0 PCIe x16_2 slot (black, at x4 link). I have connected the ati 6950 in 2 (2.0 PCIe x16_2 slot (black, at x4 link). If I put you in the first slot I'll have better performance? Help me ....
I like how you say Asus like I do. A lot of people pronounce it A-suss I pronounce it A-zus. A lot more cool way of saying it ;-) Oh yeah and by the way I only buy Asus when upgrading or building a systems because of their quality and reliability. Stay away from Elitegroup (the worst manuf of the lot!), Biostar (who are no longer manufacturing). Asus are the ones to go for! Had no problems with Gigabyte either.
all motherboard reviews suck monkey balls. just read all the reviews, they all say the same thing: good motherboard for the money, good overall performance, good this, good that, ... totally useless.
As an audiophile who has this board...I find that although its advertised on-board sound is impressive...it is truly lacking in a number of areas. Does anyone know where I could find some professional information regarding the sound output, encoding, and overall quality of this board?
@Gresh85 I have this board, not the deluxe version but the basic one with three pci sockets, onboard sound is always shit, I am running an Asus Xonar D2, just upgraded from an X-fi extreme music, the Xonar is fucking awesome, movies in surround are excellent, I also am into dj'ing, my music freaking rips on the Xonar with my Pioneer HDJ 1000 headphones, Get a Xonar mate, awesome.
I am just abt to start building a pc with this mothorboard, I just have the RAM and dvd to buy, looking in the manual it uses dual channel ram yet in the QVL it lists RAM part number TR3X6G1333C9 but this is triple channel RAM, is this correct as otherwise I am just going to have to settle for OCZ3G13334GK.
I have one of ASUS's gaming laptops and somehow my motherboard fried and they tell me I'm not on the warranty any more! They want me to pay 500 dollars to get it repaired (Which is more than half I payed for the WHOLE laptop) but they won't be able to fix it for about three months because they told me they don't make separate motherboards for my model. I am very frustrated with them.
Gidday mate i have just bought the ASUS P7P55D, and was wondering if it comes with that remote, and all those other cords i saw in your video because mine only came with the 80 pin cord that connects to your cd drive and that cord that connects to your HDD drive. (I think its called 80 pin xD not sure as im pretty new to this stuff.) Anyways is it suppose to come with all those cords i saw or do you have to buy it all separate?
Im using a Nvidia edition of the CM690 with this motherboard. This motherboard is quite on the high end, but its not as good as those ultra-high end motherboards for heavy duty mad insane son's of a bitch gamers. Okay that was a joke.

if only i had 10k$ i build a very sexy full tower case with a board that supports 2x quad core (i 7 if possible) and 32GB DDR3 1800hz , 2x GTX295 SLI, 1500 watt power supp,( 2000 if possible) high deff tv tuner with samsung 3D ready 1080p 22" screen with nvidia 3D with a 10.1 sound card with a sub woofer 10.1... did i forget something? xD
The Gigabyte can achieve a higher OC but this Asus has is faster at standard clocks and more stable when OC'd. The Asus' BIOS is more refined. Source - Atomic mpc

do you have to be over 18 to have companys send products?
HumanOFtheWeek3000 2 years ago
You have to be an established writer or have a known business.
motherboardsorg 2 years ago
What does that mean? I would love to start doing stuff like that. But do you get to keep the stuff they send you, or do you have to send it back?
