Can anyone tell me how to take video with the Canon EOS 5D camera? I've had the camera for a couple of years and have yet to figure out how to produce a video clip with this camera. All I get are still frames but no video.
My old Yashica slim style super 8 could shoot single frame with a built in intervalometer...one frame every 15 secs or so. I've misspelled intervalometer, I'm afraid. Anyway, beautiful stuff.
Somewhere. Took it to Costa Rica and got some great volcano erupting stuff, hanky panky on the small plane to the west coast, (by the pilot and his girlfriend while flying..)
@b00gym4n - Basically you will need Adobe AfterEffects or another program that can re-sample the clip. In AE you right click on the time-line and choose enable stretch. The clouds are popping again and I hope to add a nice pan version of similar thunderheads. - Go easy!
@b00gym4n - Nope, the 5D Mark II can only shoot about 15 minutes, then the CMOS sensor gets too hot, and in addition to potentially damaging the heart of the machine the noise creeps up with temperature as well.
I sometimes wish I could run a decent HD cam for a few hours, or trigger a camera body that I don't mind putting mileage on... currently neither situation exist for me.
BTW - Plenty of test shots get deleted while hunting for interesting time lapse, so keep looking 4 interesting stuff
No, I learned that after evaluating the clips, so I conformed it with keyed levels. The jumps are pretty easy to spot and correct. Locking worked pretty good the next time out, but a few scenes changed enough to wash out. BTW -Almost everything is exposure compensated down a full stop. Tnx, Shea
Ladies don't have to pay for relief, so be sure to check for the adams apple on Adams Ave, or maybe you could snap some shots over at the Drag Races in Hillcrest...

@Labrabob I'm afraid you can't, if you've got an EOS 5D. The EOS 5D MK II does take video, because it's a newer version of the 5D.

@Labrabob
DId you finally figure out how to take video with your 5D? If not...lemme know.

@Labrabob Get an intervalometer.

yopt3 1 year ago
SheaDesign 1 year ago
Quick Time Pro

я разобрался с технологией time lapse!

@SheaDesign Okay, the Palm trees reminded me of there.

Do you have any links or tutorials where I can learn how to create time lapse videos like yours? I've been inspired.

@SheaDesign Very cool. Did you just leave your camera outside recording for a few hours?

how do you achieve time-lapse shots on the 5D. Does it require external equipment to control the rate of exposures?

The jittery palm trees are distracting. Just give me pure whipped cream.

Haha, for real.

Did you lock your exposure on this clip?

I love this. A friend of mine did this with his K20. That was cool too.
