with POP ON, it will catch quick trigger K band and KA 33.8 GHZ better than when POP is off but it will not catch 35.5 GHZ ka and 34.7 Ghz Ka with POP on as good as it will with POP off. If 35.5 and/or 34.7 are your main threats, turn POP OFF. If K and 33.8 are main threats, leave POP ON. With POP on you will have a bit more Ka falsing and Junk Outs than with it off as a consequence.

got a bushnell ordered, good video. I have a redline, had a v1 arrows are cool but it falses all the time so I turned it back in after 30 days.

If you turn off X band it doesn't false all that much , maybe on laser more than it should but ..

And I don't think I could live without the arrows , not getting proper coverage from rear radar and depending on radar to reflect on front objects can be a fatal mistake , if it wasn't for the V1 I would had goten nailed on my way to ST augustine where the cop was hiding on a on ramp hitting cars as they passed , he hit me from the side first and thanks to the V1 I had time .

Just some fyi for ya... This title SHOULD BE CALLED Instant on vs. constant on ... POP is an ACTUAL device that uses Pulse Radar at a certain frequancy...The device you have uses K Band and isn't a POP device it is a Radar Gun (HUGE difference in the devices). Cops can Legally use instant on or Constant on because it records the speed...POP can ONLY save the speed for a limited time and be erased which is why cops CANNOT use that method to give you a ticket,

THe title says Pop option on vs pop option off against quick trigger , quick trigger is instant on radar , and yes you were right about everything you said except that I wanted to make a test showing that having the pop option on the Valentine one increases your chances at catching K band instant on traps .

As shown on the video when the POP option was on the V1 was able to pick all the instant on radar transmissions vs 0 when POP was off .

@venom400 ok that makes sense...i too had a V1..and also did simliar tests you did with same radar gun. Fantastic Radar detector..however, i ended up with the Escort 8500 50x

@venom400 It is fairly obvious to those in the know in a POP burst is either 67MS or 16MS, im not even sure if a human and pull the trigger with in 16MS, so naturally K band is going to dominate when POP is on.

As far as POP being an ACTUAL device... POP is a feature for a radar gun. The chances of someone running into POP is next to none. However if you do have POP on you can detect cobra users then hit them with the bushnell as they drive by :D

@a4Audi2153 hmm..never heard of it..alls i know is that POP method cannot be used in court....instant on is what this video is showing (either X, K, or Ka band...or Ku band for people in Europe). Instant on is when cop has a Radar Gun and has it off then turns it on when he sees your car..constant on is when there is heavy traffic and he just leaves it on to grab your speed.

@a4Audi2153 Which is why you want a good long range radar detector..in case there IS a car a head of you you'll get a low and short alert..and it'll stop DO NOT IGNORE IT....but yes..cops love to use this at night...if you are the only car on the road and he sees your headlights...BAM turns on his radar..and has your speed before your radar ever goes off.

@stalkervision yes , the V1 does false more , as a mater of fact I don't have the pop option on anymore because where I live (florida) very few LEOs actually use K anymore , KA is all the use , I leave K band detection on just in case however.
