@wsburroughs23 Katrina covered a bigger area - 640kms accross, and Yasi was about 200-300 accross alough some reports had it at 500 accross. But its wind gusts at eye were up to 290kph compared to Katrina's 250kph. If the eye had hit Townsville or Cairns then the picture may have been very different. People know Katrina was coming too. Most of the fatalities I believe related to the flooding caused by the levy banks breaking. Flooding is still the danger to many parts of North Queensland
In 1918 there were two cyclones in Queensland that were bigger and over 100 people died, so Global warming has nothing to do with it. In 1918 there were several billion less cars and several thousand less coal fired power stations.you just haveto look up 1918 Queensland cyclones and you will find all the answers

@wsburroughs23 actually it was just as bad as predicted, but it crossed over the smaller towns not the bigger centres. Originally it was heading for Cairns - which is about 60 -70,000 people. IInstead it hit Tully and mission Beach. Tully is only about 2,200 and is bigger than Mission Beach. Anyone who experienced the category 5 part of the cyclone said it was worse than the cat 4 cyclone Larry a few years ago

I think you are talking about the Earth's wobbling on its axis - which is called precession. The Earth's axis moves from pointing at the Pole star to pointing to Vega. This is a cyclic event over about 22,000 yrs. It does have an effect on the climate, but I think the differences in climate would be felt over over centuries.

But its wind gusts at eye were up to 290kph compared to Katrina's 250kph. If the eye had hit Townsville or Cairns then the picture may have been very different. People know Katrina was coming too. Most of the fatalities I believe related to the flooding caused by the levy banks breaking. Flooding is still the danger to many parts of North Queensland

@wsburroughs23 actually it was just as bad as predicted, but it crossed over the smaller towns not the bigger centres. Originally it was heading for Cairns - which is about 60 -70,000 people. IInstead it hit Tully and mission Beach. Tully is only about 2,200 and is bigger than Mission Beach. Anyone who experienced the category 5 part of the cyclone said it was worse than the cat 4 cyclone Larry a few years ago

Apparently 2012 is meant to be the earth shifting 1cm in it's axis, causing all the extreme weather of late, such as the cyclone, earthquake in Christchurch, the flooding in Queensland, the extreme amount of snow in the US over christmas, Wildfire and crop faliure in Russia, etc.

@rockthissh1t I know what you meant. 2012 is about an old Mayan calander that apparently ends in 2012, so some people believe that means the Earth will end in 2012! I think you are talking about the Earth's wobbling on its axis - which is called precession. The Earth's axis moves from pointing at the Pole star to pointing to Vega. This is a cyclic event over about 22,000 yrs. It does have an effect on the climate, but I think the differences in climate would be felt over over centuries.

everyone look up HAAARP its a government funded project that has these power lines running into the earth and can put out 1 billion watts of power which if there has been chemtrails over Queensland the shock of HAARP reacts with the chemtrails in the sky and can cause drastic weather changes and patterns pretty much can cause earthquakes cyclones tornados you name it just look up HAARP it may not have caused this just a thought...
