  • could some one send me the link to his "Whats up" I cant find that anywhere

  • Great it sure makes u think! so complicated but if u think about it its actually quite depressing...

  • 1:22 wat...

  • music is Great

  • In few words:

    We are a product.

  • As many of you have pointed out, I really feel the loss of individualism and the inprisonment and isolation of the individuals. The modern world focuses on production, thus eliminating the "Je ne sais quoi" ordinary things had before. It is a must to search and adapt our individuality to today's life, because a revolutionary change will be able in a not near time.

I participated in the creation of a play with a similar theme. It was a lot of work but it really helped to rediscover myself.

  • Moreover, the people in the separate rooms were not communicating with each other rather their focus was on the television which resided in their own room. The individuals had metaphorically imprisoned themselves. The empty room represents the hollowness of life if one chooses to keep to his or herself rather than reaching out to one another, and people should center their lives around nature (being one) rather than centering their lives around technology.

  • For example, the man and woman were obviously pissed at each other yet were unable to express their emotions while still being civilized. This shows, that human beings in general have lost touched with their true selves and have put up a facade to which they have been molded into.

  • My interpretation of this video is that human beings have isolated themselves from each other, and that from chaos we get order which imprisons us. For instance, the clothes in the washing machine were balanced till it began to get filled with water (representation of an outside) that utterly consumed the clothes (representation of human beings). The outside force consists of technology, media, social "norms", etc. that mold us into who we are-the way we behave and live our lives. For

  • It looks as thought the first actual people we see are watching the last empty room, the room where people are supposed to be watching the older man hanging himself... so is it a never ending circle of just everyone watching each other? evryone sharing the same experiences indirectly? maybe not necessarily seeing what they see, but being there in their presence thru the form of technology?

  • from one room to the other..... 5:20 .... the first room is looking at an empty couch... the next room watches the people watching the couch.... a man and his dog are watching the people...the older male and the younger male are in the next room... the man is hanging himself... then the next room is empty, showing the final breth of the man then he goes limp, and the boy is applauding.... but nobody is watching them....

  • As far as the televisions in the rooms while the camera panned left, i wonder who that boy was that was in the same room with the man who was hanging himself, and why no one was in the next room was watching it. I wonder if that wud define me as sadistic or nonchalant i think i am. I didn't have a reaction to it, which is wierd...

  • People who say this video is shit lack depth in their own lives. this video has depth, makes you think, triggers different reactions in your own mind. Suprisingly i had a stronger reaction mentally to the shot over that river with the bright green trees and all the people waving then i did with the guy that hung himself while the next room showed the televised version of it and the other person (ppossibly his son) applauded.

  • I´m not sure but I think the video is about how humans can be their own jails, how we have left the nature and fellings that come with it die, how we have changed them for technology and plastic things, metal that make us feel alone and unheared , blind . we must concern more about everything is outside our mental metal cube; people, feelings, stop contamination and think TOGETHER.

  • Trying to tell a story using emotion... maybe? most likely made just to make you think a little.

  • terminator factory tää alkaa viimeistäänki pelottaa

  • pelottava video ja myös vähän(paljon) outo

  • what the shit?

  • Wtf is this = =

  • @PandaMagicFTW a video i believe.

  • @ZoraKnight50 Let me rephrase that. What is being represented in the video, or rather yet, what is the purpose of this video? Basically I'm saying that it's crap.

  • @PandaMagicFTW okay, now you give me a spcific question, now i give you specific answer, maybe its crap but..... well i dont know what it is either...... im thinking an objection to similarity though.

  • @ZoraKnight50 Or that it's just a crap video... lol

  • Can anybody tell me what language that was?

The people in the windows watching on TV what's going on in the next room is a bit freaky :)

Honestly, I did not see objection against similarity in the video, however, I believe the video was intended to be interpreted in one's own way :))

  • @svetave

    It's in Finnish.

  • @svetave

    It's in Finnish

  • I interpreted it as this:

Humanity's reliance on structure and technology has made us to forget that we are nothing but animals who came from nature (I think).

  • Love the details and the symbols !

  • it was really really random i personally thought but somehow, like falcon731boy says: "it can be anything the audience interprets it as". i found it comforting, depressing, enlightining, etc. good way to play the moods

  • Not for me...

  • @mynutsac thank you :)

  • I don't understand...

  • its all about communism and forgoing your inner virgin to make it unforgiving.

  • @mynutsac

I bet you have no idea what is communism. All you know about it is small pieces that were fed to you by the people who had no idea about it just like you. This is pure capitalism, the world of office clerks who were born to fit in the offices just like skittles

  • ??????????????????????????

  • everyone has questions and problems - please give me an answers ....and how to resolve problems - sorry, didn't like it...

  • Reminds me of what Herzog said about our need for new images, for visual hygiene. Beautiful.

  • it's good job. depressing.

  • its too slow for my style i wait too long n i dun get it probably thats y i dun like it too

  • well done!!!!

    just simple amazing

    and hahah yah

    that last drop of water

gave me chills donw my spine

  • nicely dun

  • umm .has touch.. lovely ..

  • Not sure about the film, but props to the D.O.P it was beautifully shot.

I figure its about mundane routines and social functioning. A world of constant cycles and meaningless routines. The washing machine was supposed to be some kind of symbolic metaphor.

It was very boring to watch, but I gather it was suppose to be. To capture the tone of the theme.

A very pretentious film. The film-maker could have easily got his point across in 2 minutes. Using two or three scenes.

  • Ok So while a person is washing clothes in those few minutes of washing So many different things could happen get it??

    or

The world is just another complex weave of situations from one to another

  • but.... it's a visual objection of similarity (as said in the description) well, the art of symbolism and metaphor is that it can please anyone because it can be anything the audiance interpret as

  • no it is actually really boring and a waste of time actually

  • Ou. from finland... But think about this video you'l find many reference points. In video everyone was watching other room video... compare to nowadays media, big brother and reality?

  • Youtube, perhaps?

  • that last drop of water (8:38-42) sent chills down my spine!

  • La Vie est futile

    Completement, ;-(

    Allez bien:- C'est la Vie

[Il est bon que nos esprits soient un secret ]

    Bravisimo!!

  • i loved it

  • Interesting

  • Great to see something that gives you space to think. I think.

  • VERY BORING.

  • indeed

  • I loved the part where it goes by the rooms and they're watching what's going on in the other room. Awesome. And the washing machine support bouncing under the weight. Totally. I was a bit at a loss on all the people on the dock though. Loved this

  • do something useful please

  • is this a movie about random stuff?

  • A huge effort. The best part was the television series where people are watching what's going on next door. The movie was beautiful. I loved the shot of the support for the washing machine being squeezed under pressure. Visual stunning. Way the heck better than any episode of House. As a visual objection against everything being the same it's counter intuitive that 'the same' can be so beautiful under the directors camera. I'd like to see something done by Risto more recently.

  • interesting, i like the creative use of silence as a character. it is a bit surreal...which is a good thing. :)

  • I suppose you have to cut down your own fucked up imaginary curtain to actually get this. It isn't too strange. You don't have to think it's complicated, it's sad and very true. If you didn't get this, my suggestion is watching I ♥ Huckabees, it's pretty much the same, only for the light-minded. I love it by the way.

  • I didn't get the point, but it was an interesting movie.

  • this is stupid and boring

  • always wondered how they put the skittles back up. Always learn something new from everything

  • READ THE DESCRIPTION! it tells you...

  • I take it back. this is the strangest movie I've ever seen

  • This movie goes EXTREMELY well with Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the machine" or "Time". SERIOUSLY: Open one of the songs in another window and start them both at the same time (of course, mute the "from one room to another" movie and turn up the volume of either of Pink Floyd's songs). I loved it!

  • it's a bit hard to understand.

    for example i didnt understood.

    But it is great

    =)

  • Nicely done!

It expresses the other side of society

the side we are not allowed to see...

  • What?!?!?!?1

  • :| only 2/5!!!

  • This was brilliantly made. I loved it.

  • i'm not sure if i understood:

the white clothes at the end of the video are the same as the coloured ones from the beginning (they got white)?

  • A waste of energy. A thing of little beauty and too much sense. It is not art. It is trying too hard to be oblique without the sort of skill to make it seem something worthwhile to the human psyche.

  • with the advent of youtube, the tv scene would be more accurate if everyone was watching a video of themself actually

  • Cannot say I liked it, but it is really really good, very well made.

  • My culture is similar to finnish and i watched it and it was great, the best expressing ever BTW I'am 13

  • I don't like it

  • This was brilliant. Love it.

  • excellent 5 stars from me

  • I found it very striking that in the scene where you see that each neighbour is watching on TV what the other one´s doing, that there´s noone to watch the old man hanging himself.

  • Yes, very Ray Bradbury

  • Nice work. Enjoyed every minute.

  • these videos are like a poem put in motion, good work

  • Woah, that was wierd...

Got the point after reading some comments.

  • That was deep... very deep...

  • don't really understand...:[

  • neither do i xD

  • being stuck in routine everyday while the circle of time goes on and on. you're like a machine doing the same sh!t everyday, being hypnotized by daytime tv but the human part in you want to break that cycle with something extracurricular, a fight maybe or even a suicide...i guess.

  • wow this stuff really makes you stop for a moment and think its not a video its a masterpiece its a piece of art.

  • It's a essentially comparing mankind to the machines, that everything they do is controlled by a strict schedule and everyone is the same. (I think at least)

  • wow that wierd but very entertaiming...

  • Wow.

  • a wee tad too abstract for me. i'll take the pink floyd video

  • I love it.

  • Jeez, this stuff really makes you think. pretty entertainin'

  • like some fucked up pink floyd video!

  • Clean clothes.

  • the couple means they are educated civilized people, but inside them, they are fighting. they are a marriage having problems.

    --

guy against nature, show how destructive we are.

    --

the machine making people: the society/government machine we build taking away individuality.

    --

the classroom: show how kids get their minds modified absorbing the illusion that everything is ok, and have dead nature behind.

    --

we have our way of living so defined of how we must be, like machines. society mechanics.

  • Right on.

  • did you explain the ppl on the couches watching eachother? i like your explanations!! cuz i got none of it XD

  • I disagree about man in the forest. I believe he wanted to express his anger or other similiar emotions, what he couldn`t do in a sick society where you have anger, but you can`t express it. Well, about that "society" part I`m not really sure, but it`s not about human relationship with nature.

And to the last one great illustration is the scene with people gathered in one place at the river.

  • to me the people gathered in one place shows how industrial society's tendency to concentrate in one place isolates humans from mother nature

  • so funny!

  • how is that funny?

  • i don understand when the people are eating and thn it keeps flipping to them fighting

  • I GET IT!! OMG!!

Ok So while a person is washing clothes in those few minutes of washing So many different things could happen get it??

    or

The world is just another complex weave of situations from one to another.

  • This is TRIPPIN' o.o

  • it eather didint make sence or i dint get it, or was it just random stuff for fun?

  • That triple decker dock thing was neat! Fly by! I really liked the song in the classroom.

  • the tv-scene is great! (@ 05:23)

  • lol guy suiciding is great? lol

  • reminds me in many ways of Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the wall.

  • pretty good, i like the part where the man is slamming the stick on the tree

it rly shows anger, probably because ive done that before in the woods

but what does that have to do with individuality?

  • too slow.. but i still love all of your vids

    !!!

  • I didnt understand nothing...(((

  • you also don't understand English grammar. Ha, jk!!

  • umm cool?? camera was nice

  • Sad story.

  • What the f*ck?!.. Seriously? What is this about?

  • I didn't get any of this! Can someone explain please?

  • 22nd!

  • wow fucktard. next time dont try so hard to show off your intelligence

  • I kinda liked MORE more than this...

  • There are some little mistakes in the translations

  • nice video

  • art shouldn't have to mean, but be.

  • O.o? This didn't mean anything to you? Of course it has meaning behind it.

  • that wasn't what i was saying. some didn't get it, so i was saying that they didn't have to.

  • Such a beautiful film, really made me think. Absolutely brilliant.

  • the parts with the machines were awesome! :D

  • I'll be the first to say I didn't understand this one at all.

    :(

  • 9th!

    We can go on forever...

  • umm ok

  • wow nice

  • sooo trippy... but what does it all mean!?!?!?!

  • Awesome film and the music is brilliant .

  • I liked it.

  • Interesting. The use of silence made it quite strong. PLenty of time to think. I got an overall feeling of exeptance from this, almost like were like the machines that go about there buisness, no questions asked...
