  • yeah! i totally do that all the time, when the guitarist was to lazy to record a double)) good one, Graham!

  • who is this band?

  • This is amazing! I would never have seen this on my own. Time to make use of this :D

  • this is genius

  • what band is that? sounds like rush of fools :)

  • I want this song. How can I get it?

  • I used this trick because of my laziness to play twice :D

  • can you do a segment on vocal effects. similar to the audio tutorials one about 5 vocal effects. megaphone, creepy whisper, 100 ms delay, artificial doubling, vocoder

  • what about that vocal. the effect is cool??

  • @VcookiemonsterV There's a lot of different effects that can do that...basically they just cut most of the lows and highs and leave only the mids. It gives it that "low-fi" telephone-like sound.

  • Very nice. Thank you.

  • Well. Cool! Love it. One thing though.. You get 2 times the same loop. I guess You can do a bit of automation of fx's, or what not, to sway it.. But still.. 2 times the same..

  • Also you could copy the same track and slightly (just slightly) move it ahead of the original track. Gives it a good stereo effect

  • What u can also do is use waves doubler n detune slightly (bout 50 up or 50 down) & tweek from there.

  • That's a cool one! I already knew it, but it's great to be reminded of it. Thanks Graham.

  • I do this a lot with vocals on a hook

  • love it

    thanks

  • haha I've used this little cheat many times, nice to know i'm not the only one!

  • really smart sob!

  • sonofabitch! ur so smart dude!

  • greaaaaat tip!!!!!

  • excellent..

  • Graham, you rule.

  • Thanks :D . I had an idea of doubling tracks, but I'm used to do is:

Double the track, pan L and R, and just put a little bit of delay.

I'll try this one now :D

  • waooow cool xD

  • i already knew about this technique, i do it on Vocals and it works great, saves a lot of recording time also :-)

  • yeah, i do this all the time

  • howd you get that vocal effect in the bridge?

  • @bacondrums You can do it with a eq. Just LP & HP and you get a telephone effect

  • @bacondrums You can do it with a high-pass filter cranked way up and a low pass filter cranked way down, so you're only getting the mid-range frequencies.

  • Very nice!

  • Nice. What a time saver.

  • Great tip! Another way to instantly double a track is to copy the original and paste it 20 or so ms ahead and pan left and right. It gives the effect of a double and also a chorus like effect.

  • @didyouseethatduck I've done that and it works OK, but I think if you did that in this song and compared to what Graham actually did, you'd choose his version.

  • @AllysDad2008 Quite possible. As Graham says in many of his videos "It's subjective." Just putting my two cents in. That's what makes the interenet so great! :)

  • @didyouseethatduck Indeed, in the end your ears need to be your guide. And that's what I love about Graham's teaching style is that it's OK to do something different if it sounds good. I"m just thoroughly blown away by what he did in this one. IT's like 2 different guitars.

  • @didyouseethatduck yeah, this works, tho it´s just like a phaser. his tip is smarter cause you got 2 REALLY different versions - and not just a copy delayed one

  • Simple but brilliant.

  • Nice tip thx

  • Great video (as usual)! It's a great technique and your example and explanation are both excellent.

  • I've remixed two of my old songs after watching your series of tips, and it's by far the best I've ever done:) Great stuff! Now I just need to get really good at the techniques and decide when it is appropriate to use them.

  • Thanks Graham! Some great advice on here!

  • Nice!

  • Smart!

  • Another nice tutorial, really great one. Thanks for sharing !! :)

    God Bless...
