I hav an underbite I'm so embarrised about. I got braces July 2010. I hav to hav braces for 2-2 1/2 years. I'm sure i'll hav to get the bluild ups on my teeth. my dentist said somethin to keep me from biting down. It won't be for a while, but whts it like in you mouth and does it hurt?

Omg i have braces and one tooth of mine was in the back and i was sooo embarrassed! :\ idk what i would of done without the dentist!!! They had 2 put gummy stuff on my molars so i wouldn't bite down on my other teeth while they were overlapping. They said i might chip a little off my bottom teeth and it did happen a lil. Good luck

i had bite supports too! they sucked because i couldnt bite down all the way. i ground my teeth together to wear them down a bit haha but when i got them off it felt weird to have my teeth touch :p

@boomamaz I've had elastics for along time now. I was out of them for two months and my ortho put me back in them on Monday when I went for my adjustment. I guess I had a overbite. Actually my top teeth touched my bottom teeth...

i think that tooth that has at thick metal bar infront of it wont move because one of those teeth next to it is bothering it from moving

At what age is someone considered "too old " for colors in your subjective, unqualified and likewise-unsolicited opinion about braces?

@spoiledprincess1235 If it bothers you that much, don't get colors when you're over 40. Meanwhile, I think he's going to stay with colors. I had braces from age 27 to 30, and I occassionally had colors. No one gave me a hard time about it--quite the opposite.

Yes, they do bother you a bit, but your mouth gets used to it after a while. How come you only have braces on the front 6 teeth?

you think it hurt getting braces tighted hurts??? well thats because you need to brush your gums more and if you do then they wont hurt as much

No.  The teeth were crowded and I did not get braces early enough, so one rotted on the other and they both had to come out after a root canal on one of them...

i just had my braces on tue (today is sat)..it feels so weird:P i have the exact same prob like urs--a crossbite. the orthodontist put a separator at my first molar, but he's gonna put a band to replace em this coming tue. does it hurt?

i have things in my molars that prevent me from biting down at all too!!!...only a tiny part of my molars touch...and it only touches where that cement stuff is...and its in my whole molar...yes i have a very hard time eating everything

I dont know where they I made a mistake when I was typing that^^'lol...The elastics are going to pull my top teeth back, because I have a large over bite. but I dont have them yet...lol I actually have no idea when I have to get them ^^' :)

I remember when my teeth bottom teeth and my top teeth were spaced like that and wouldn't touch b/c of what my orthodontist needed to do.

cool; my friend has buildups as well and they are blue. Blue is better so that when they are takn off you can see what to remove. I had white and it was hard to remove it entirely.

they have to remove it someday. they like sand it off and it is a regular tooth again. it just feels funny without it for a little bit. no worries

wow nice colors.ur lucky u dont have the chain to help pull that forward and i have a this chain on for 5 months now straight with no break.sometimes i wonder if i am ever gonna get the chain off and have normal colors agian.i also have to wear the elastics...did u have to wear them yet?does the bulid up on ur molars hurt?

the springs were quite good; chains would have ben fun I am sure.

The buildups on the molars did not hurt, they just make me talk funny.
