  • @studman4250 narh. Roy Buchanan.

  • awesome fucking dimebag poster!!!!

  • no, you can use all of the frets to make a pinch harmonic, you're just failing.

  • why don't you wear any pants`?

  • I'm thinking of buying a Epiphone les paul standard with a Roland Cube 30x. Is the Roland Cube a good amp for pinch harmonics?

  • do you think an orange crush amp could do something like this well?

  • @applemac193 sure it can... just add an boss metal zone mt2 and a boss compressor, tune in D and youll see

  • i think better with a gibson

  • LesPaul custom 50st anniversay through laney tt100h&marshall1960 4x12

  • i really like your tone, very nice heavy metal sound, i also play through an epi lespaul, and i have a line 6 spider iii, how did you dial in your eq for this?

  • which guitar is that? :-P I can see that its a Epiphone but not which1

  • Epiphone Les Paul Custom through a Spyder212 Combo. duh

  • What's in that cupboard?

  • lol u can see sweat n armpit hairs

  • stand still for a while man!

  • what kind of amp r u using dude

  • how will I better by standing up pplaying guitar i play awesome sitting but standing its good but not bad how do i practice it how long should i put strap or some shit

  • standing is mainly good practice for if your planning on performing live or something, it also helps with wrist flexibility and dexterity. the strap should be comfortably long, make sure your picking arm is around a 45 degree angle, that's a good rule of thunmb.

  • thanks man!

  • chevere brother : xd

  • downstrokes aren't the only way.

  • The face he makes when he's playing is the same one he has during sex. Kurt you. Miss ya jerk face!

  • mongoth666 you can suck dick to cutthroatat559. If you're playing for 19 years and it took you a long time to play harmonics, than you're mentally retarded.....

  • maybe he means a long time something like 1 month or so.. When it's your first or second month of playing it is kinda hard to learn the harmonics...

  • yo u got a sick sound there man...what gear u usin?

  • o and the harmonics sound a whole lot better with a wah pedal

  • dude chill out..ive been playing for 19 years and pinch harmonics take a long time...

  • dude what the fuck is this , showing off the guitar more than anything else , and pinch harmonics are so easy , looks like I gotta make some REAL videos for all you guitar junkies out there. ive been playing for 8 years now and pinch harmonics I learned like my first year of playing , now im on arpeggios , legato runs , G Mixolydian ETC. people people people , JUST USE THE FLESHY PART OF YOUR THUMB AND BARELY TOUCH THE GOD DAMNED STRING AFTER PICKING

  • wow, youve been playing THAT long and youre just doing g mixolydian and arpeggios now?! i learned all these damn modes, scales, arpeggiated chords, all that theory crap withing my first year and a half of playing! legato runs?? thats nothing to be bragging about

  • yah for 8 years on guitar just that??!! seriosly cut ur throat for real..

  • WOW G MIXOLYDIAN?! AS OPPOSED TO WHAT?! F# MIXO OR MAYBE Ab MIXO?!?! I SURE HOPE YOU DON'T KNOW e IONIAN !!!!! GOD HELP US ALL

    ......

trying to throw around basic music terminology and failing to properly utilize your childish basic understanding of music theory just makes you look more like the amateur poser that you obviously are.

  • ahh that awesome

i still cant do them tho lol

  • whats the name of the last song u played??

  • Stop doing the banana... gato!

    *less noise... more music puleze*

  • thats a cool dimebag poster

  • what kind of pickups??

  • hummbuckers

  • u can do harmonics and thats it

  • amp settings plz

  • it kinda seemed like u were showing off a little more than teaching 0_0

  • @LaurenAndMichelle hes not even good!

  • nice

  • YEAH!

  • good I learned something! and to you others do an own video about pinched harmonics if it ia so simple!

  • i didn't learn any thing frm that

  • i always wanted to type this \\m// haha

  • Thanks man now I can do squealies with my squire strat.

  • ur ugly

  • urmom!

  • you are really good

how long have you been playing?

  • wow you guys must suck

  • yeah! make that bitch squeal \m/

  • dude if thats a les paul custom i have the same exact guitar as you lol. ebony with gold hardware too

  • what tuning is that

  • nice guiar

  • Nice harmics.. Divine Epiphone Black Beauty.

  • you do it in the right way.... BUT YOU HAVEN'T TEACHED HOW TO DO IT! i can do pinch armonics only on the g, b and high e string (and sometimes, it depends from where i am in the fretboard, often from the 2nd to the 5th fret, on the d string) but never on a and low e string... i try, but i hear a crap sound, not "yelling" like zakky... someone can explain me? thanks

  • It takes practice at first. But to get the low squealies (Low E and A) your going to need the right pickups and amp. If you have single coils, there gonna sound awful.

  • I can get sqealies out of my shitty marshall amp and 200$ squire stratocaster almost as good if not better than my ibanez with EMGs. You said it man, it just takes practice

  • he teached out to do it

  • he TAUGHT how to do it ... learn english you fucking faggot

  • teached, taught same thing

  • not the same..

  • To answer a couple of the questions I've seen here...Yes that's Dime on the poster and He's using a Line 6 Spider II. I wasn't too sure about the poster going up at first, but what the hell. The amp was his 18th birthday present. And yes, he's self taught.

  • Oh...and I have no musical talent whatsoever. Still trying to figure out where that comes from!

  • awsome i actul can do it now

  • is that zakk wylde at the back?

  • i think its dime

  • yeah its dime

  • its dime

  • cool lesson

  • Fine lesson. But put a shirt on man.. It looks like you just got up.

  • lol i bet the user that said this is shit and got a response to post a video himself is zakk wylde

  • liking that poster!

  • Not bad, but no offense bro, it sounded NOTHING like Zakk. Nobody can squeal like him so don't feel bad. Good job though.

  • Zakk manages to get his really bassy somehow.

  • turn up the bass:P and use emg's not that i like em, cant go wrong with a nice seymour duncan invader of jb4, but hes also got thick ass guitars, and they give off immense tone, so basically if you got a shitty little encore strat with single coils(not saying you have) then it will be difficult to get a pinch:P

  • ye i spose, the only problem is that i do have a shitty yamaha strat with pathetic humbuckers, so if i try to turn up the bass you just cant hear the pinched harmonics atall.

  • well when i used a crappy guitar well i still do, but i changed it a bit, i used to raise the pickups and make shure you got brand new strings, pinches dont like old strings:P i know know this cos i use pinches far too much, dont over use em lol

  • k lol, well im gettin a new guitar soon anyway (epiphone les paul probably) so that should be much better for pinched harmonics.

  • i think its cause he uses a marshall jcm800. Gives his sound taht awesome deep tone

  • that sounded like total shit.

  • oh yeah? post a video of you doing it and then we shall see.

  • u need vibrato's when doing pinched harmonics

  • How much would that guitar cost

  • at guitar center that guitar costs around $600

  • im gettin that guitar for my birthday! wooh i tried it out in the shop yesterday and it sounds great

  • i have got that guitar 2!

    nice video

  • What kind of strings do you use?

  • how you get that sound, and what gauge strings you using?

  • now you just need to take off those skinny ass strings and put some real beef on it.

  • u really think a guitar sound better with "real beef" on it? lol i use .08s..

  • great! thanks for the lesson^^

  • what settings do you have your amp on?

  • all you need is some kick ass distortion with lots of gain...bridge pickup full tone is important too

  • nice epi

    and nice harmonics

  • nice video man.. good job

  • thanks man. hey dont listen to those guys who are saying you suck. there probably just jelous

  • wtf man hes doing zakks stuff

  • no shit zakk wylde is better douche bag...did he say he was better or as good as him

  • You put up a better video then moron.

  • Pinch harmonics give me hard on. You can make those f**kers SQUEEEEL!!! nice one

  • thank you :)

  • My god, dude, you´re so goddamn cool, my speakers are frozen all over after watching this video... never seen such a cool guitar player, man...

  • pretty sweet man cheerz

  • wat amp are u using? u have awesome sound, good job playing!! check out my vid and tell me wat u think

  • thats a great guitar

  • Schweet dude! What did you use for distortion?

  • is that a memphis guitar?

  • ha that was soo funny

  • Hairy armpits.

  • hope so, theres basicly no man on earth that dosen't have hairy arepits!:O,. lmao

  • lol its eazy idk why people think its hard lol

  • its only easy when you figure it out. now i can do it constantly with ease i reccomend dunlop jazz III picks

  • dunlop picks are the best in my opinion, nice feel, and great playability!

  • Exactly, I took ages to figure out how to do them, but as soon as I figured it out I was able to nail them every time.

My picks of choice: Dunlop Tortex series, 1.14MM (purple picks)

  • It has absolutely nothing to do with picks/pickups/distortion.

Sure a high output pickup and thinner strings will make it easier, but, at the end of the day, it comes down to technique.

I can do pinch harmonics on a classical nylon string acoustic.

If you're cranking distortion and buying higher output pickups and using thinner strings, all you're doing is wrecking your tone and making it easier, which in the long run, doesn't benefit you at all.

  • Yep, that's true.

I can do them on my acoustic as well (though it's a brass string acoustic, I never really liked nylon strings)

As for me mentioning my picks of choice, that's my general pick size/type for playing heavier music, not just for harmonics :p

  • I use DAVA picks. I dont actually know where they are available other then through this guitar shop here(The owner makes and sells his own guitars) and I know they sell them but I've never seen them anywhere else.

They're really nice because they have a flex point in the middle, but a plastic tip. They are great for machine gun picking and metal play, but because they flex if you move you're finger back a little bit they are great for strumming.

  • 1.44mm, are hard as a rock man..

  • 1,14, not 1.44 :p

Yeah they're pretty hard, but I like that for my heavy metal playing.

When I play softer music styles, I usually go down to around 0.60

  • how long did it take you to learn this....???

  • it takes like a week of 20 mins practising a day

  • no ive got a les paul, probly my amp

  • why doesnt my guitar sound like that

  • Could be any of the Following Reasons: -Your guitar isn't a Les Paul -Your not running as Good of an Amp for High-Gain Playing...the best High-Gain Amp I own is a Line 6 Spider II on the "Insane" amp setting...it's Internal Amp Distortion and it's Extra High-Gain And it's -1 Octave on top of the Massive Amount of Gain...it's really great for like "Metal" Gain....

  • most likely your amp. you need a good amp to pick up the sounds.

  • not helpin at all :P:P

  • not helpin at all :P:P

  • wow u dont need so much gain jesus haha

  • his choice

  • nice dime poster!

    Nice squeals brother!

    B.L.S!

  • lol I'm a Different Guy and I've had a Framed Black & White Picture of Randy Rhoads Hanging Above the Head board of my bed for 2 Years now LOL...Know what they Say...Great Minds uuuh Think er...Greatly?!? lol

  • they also say the dumb never differ jkn man he's a legend heard tht counter sayin 2day n i luuurve it XD

  • can u do pinch harmonics on say a 30 watt practice amp? cant seem to get same sound (i use cheap zoom gx1 on dist)

  • awesome dude. so far you have the best vid i've seen on youtube that helped me.

  • is this a 2x alnico classic pickups ??

  • i practise this pitch harmonics so fucking long now, and i don't get an awesome sound like you. don't know what i make wrong, but great video.

  • nice dimebag poster lol

  • thats alot dude this vid rly helped me alot. ur awesome keep goin.

  • Did you vibrate a natural harmonic?

I been trying to get that sustain in my pinch harmonics, and I could never figure out how Zack held that sustain for so long, like in No More Tears..?

    Using a EMG81 in a 80's Charvel

  • i don't think u r thinking of pinch harmonics. if u r thinking of the beggining its using a finger slide

  • I was talking about the natural harmonic at 1:26-1:30, what I was trying to figure out is how he hit that natural harmonic, then did a vibrato without muting the harmonic...?

I was figuring that he hit a natural harmonic, then grabbed the string and quickly did a pinched harmonic before he did the vibrato.

I'll have to break out the guitar and try it out.

  • You mean the harmonic in the first verse part??? It's just a regular pinch harmonic. Just do a pinch harmonic at the third fret, bend it up slowly and shake it. Lots of gain, mid and high frequencies (and good technique)will help to sustain it long enough.

  • you can do a natural harmonic and bend it...try using drop d tuning.... throw a harmonic on the fourth fret of the low d string and then try to bend it....do it quick and do it with care...takes a few trys

  • What settings do you use on the Line 6 to get pretty close to Zakk's tone? It looks like your using a Line 6 am I correct?

  • pitch harmonics and the sound is awesome

  • RANDY RHOADS was better RIP!!!

  • randy was better but least Zakk went in sounding like himself

  • randy was better but least Zakk went in sounding like himself

  • I have a simmilar guitar,epiphone black beauty 3 pics,have you changed the pics?

  • hey you re doing the things well everyone is rusted for your sound with epiphone, ja ja ja i congratulate you mr,guitar player.....
