  • In addition, the prompter apparatus housed atop the lens of the RCA TK-46 was the Q-TV VPS-100 system, which was first introduced in the mid-'70's.

  • Isn't it ironic that Channel 64 in Providence has the same call letters. I wish they had kept WSTG... that was when 64 had some worth to it... now it just carries FOX and is a sister station to WPRI 12. Thank you for breaking down the history of channel 7 as I remember very well how it used to be back then.

  • Why was RKO unfit to have a tv station?

  • @stevations Look up the "RKO General" article on Wikipedia and all your questions will be answered.

  • Of course, no mention made to it being the final night of WNAC-TV. No time to hold your head in shame, I suppose ;-)

  • And the studio camera seen around 0:03-0:06 next to Brad Holbrook is the RCA TK-46.

  • That Channel 7 jingle was on Aussie's own Channel 7 affiliate, TVW7 in Perth two years later!!!!

  • Of course, if the final test pattern used by Channel 7 as RKO-owned WNAC-TV were to surface, I'd be a happy clam. :-D
