My 13 year old golden died on Dec 12th. I put off reading this, so I could heal from the great loss of losing her. I'm glad I did because, when I started reading the first chapter I started crying; thinking of my Enzo. I haven't been able to put it down. It's so unique to be able to see the world through Enzo's eyes. It's hard not to feel for Denny, Eve, Zoe and Enzo. I bet the twins arranged for Annika to throw herself at Denny so they could have a reason to take Zoe after Eve's death.
This doesn't do the book any justice. I'm not quite sure how I pictured Enzo's voice, but I know this isn't it. I think he'd sound older and slower and wiser.....because he was old and slow and wise. i read this when i was mabey 12....... it opend life for me and it showed me more things..i was on a church trip and on the way back i finished the book i had to try my hardest not to tear up in front of 15 other dudes...... the part that got me is when enzo came back
I can't help but wonder if Mr. Stein knew how many people he would help with this book. My Malcolm passed just about a year ago, and this book has helped me look at his passing in a whole new light. I still miss him, and I'm sure I always will, but now I look for signs that he's come back to say "hey". Awesome AWESOME book.
There was a waiting list for this book at the library. While I was waiting, my husband got me a Kindle. I downloaded it immediately and have read it twice. Wonderful book!

this book shook me up a bit when enzo got hit by the car...the same happend to me and my old dog it was a special ocasion she was off her leash it was the first snow of the winter...she was on the outher side of the road and it was time to come inside so i called her over but i dident c the car coming and she ran right infrount of it i miss her so much... i would give anything to have change wat happend

i never thought that dogs can be so compassionate.. this Book taught me to value dogs, (i mean more than the usual care that i do to them)... to love them more.. to be more sensitive to them..'coz here in my country they kill dogs with no mercy.. they even eat them..
This book did help me cope in a way with the fact that I had to put my beloved dog Rebel down of 13 years. A dog will love his master till the last beat of his hart and beyond. As Enzo did. What a extraordinary book.

Mine was also 13. I'm so glad I read this after her death, it's a great gift to help heal. My favourite book of all time; one that actually made me cry and because of this i have become very emotional and sensitive- I am so glad there is a movie in progress- though I was planning in my final year of script writing at uni to adapt this movie into script. cant wait to see it!!! :)

This is more than a book, it is a life changing moment. It will change how you look at dogs forever! Enzo teaches us more about the human spirit than any human ever has. It will touch your heart like no book ever written has. You will be a different person after reading it, I promise! I carried the book around with me the day after finishing it, I simply didn't want to put it down.
I sat down and read this book in 4 hours, I just couldn't put it down. It was that good, it immediately jumped to my favorite book, and is one I frequently suggest to people to read. It definitely surprises you.

It is amazing...I thought a book written from a dog's point of view would be contrived. Was I wrong! I think I'll never look at a dog the same way again....

I loved this book...it made me cry and I can re-read it any time without getting bored. But I sob everytime. Even if its a dog, this just proves that dogs are much smarter than they appear...its tragic but teaches how to persevere and love life even when nothing is going your way. This story is great, and will always be a part of my heart. Thanks Garth Stein for creating such a wonderful story to teach how to really look at the world.

I adored Garth Stein's, Racing in the Rain! I'm an avid reader and this book is definitely one of my favorites. Make sure you have a box of tissues handy! I'm sure it will be a wonderful movie as well and I'll need to bring plenty of tissues with me! Great gift for animal lovers!
If you don't love this book, you don't have a heart. I found Stein to have a great writing style. And those last two chapters... get out the Kleenex box. Should be very interesting when the movie comes out, who does Enzo's narration. One of my all-time favorite reads.

This story, more than any other, has given me peace and resolve to deal with the difficult decisions ahead. I know, it's just a Dog Story, but at its heart it is about relationship and trust and perseverance.

My mom handed me this book last nite and I gave her a look like "wtf? a book written by a DOG?" but then I stayed up unitl like four in the morning reading it and i finished it in about three- four hours. It was awesome and I'm twelve years old and it's one of the best books I've ever read.
I'm a racer, on a professional team (engineering, not driving). I grew up with dogs, but don't have any of my own. My wife is a cancer survivor. This book hit me pretty hard. I love it, will recommend it to my racing (and dog loving) friends.
Fortunately, I'll be home from school this weekend, so I will be able to watch that race. I was at the track in May for the Rolex race, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. It's a great track. What do you do for Dyson?
I just got done with this audio book and am blown away. Although I'm an avid F1 fan and a dog lover, this was an amazing story. This trailer doesn't do it justice. Patrick Dempsey bought the rights to make a movie for a reason. Just wait, it will be a mainstream story told someday. Absolutely amazing!
Dogs TOTALLY understand us! And the odd thing is, I understand my dogs...they tell me what they want, specifically. It's bizarre, nice, but bizarre. I just bought the book, I'm happy to see, from the reviews, it was worth the money.
Just finished it last night, its a GREAT book! Had my little chihuahua Kimi in my lap for most of the reading :) Was extra enjoyable as I live in Seattle, have raced those tracks, and have a dog named for an F1 driver. I hardly ever read as well, and really liked this book!

Just before he died, I leaned down and whispered in his ear..."come back and find me"..and then he died...The following day, I told a friend of mine that Jake had died...AND SHE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS BOOK...This is the first book I have read in 12 yrs...Sat on the front porch and finished it in about 4 hrs...Yes,with many tears and many thoughts of Jake...

I read the book in two nights. It was one of the most uplifting, amazing books I have read in a long time. I have always thought my Scruffy was a human trapped inside a dog's body. I too did not want to put the book down after finishing it! I gave it back to my friend Ruth and felt like I was giving away a piece of myself. Everyone should read 'The Art of Racing in the Rain!'
I don't think they should make it into a movie. The passion, love and emotions will be lost on the big screen.

im curious... has anybody seen this movie AND read the book? and if so, would you recomend the movie? the book was simply amazing! i was hooked from the beggining. book made me cry and changed the way i saw dogs and they're way of life. great book :)

This is more than a book, it is a life changing moment. It will change how you look at dogs forever! Enzo teaches us more about the human spirit than any human ever has. It will touch your heart like no book ever written has. You will be a different person after reading it, I promise! I carried the book around with me the day after finishing it, I simply didn't want to put it down.

I sat down and read this book in 4 hours, I just couldn't put it down. It was that good, it immediately jumped to my favorite book, and is one I frequently suggest to people to read. It definitely surprises you.

I loved it *-* I cried soo much when I finished reading it, Beautiful story it has everything a story needs it has drama, comedy, and I'd tell it has adventure too :) PLEASE PLEASEE make this book into a moviee I'd love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS GARTH STEIN!!!!

I just finished reading this book and am blown away. It made me laugh and cry and think and wonder. It was hard to read the end through my tears. It is amazing...I thought a book written from a dog's point of view would be contrived. Was I wrong! I think I'll never look at a dog the same way again....

I adored this book! It is one of the BEST books I have ever read, with such wonderful advice, it is the first story that I've read from the P.O.V of a dog! I loved it!

I loved this book...it made me cry and I can re-read it any time without getting bored. But I sob everytime. Even if its a dog, this just proves that dogs are much smarter than they appear...its tragic but teaches how to persevere and love life even when nothing is going your way. This story is great, and will always be a part of my heart. Thanks Garth Stein for creating such a wonderful story to teach how to really look at the world.

omg this book spoke to me the way enzo acted so much like a human and in the ned well well i will not spoil it for you but it makes you tear up with joy in the end o the book!! if you like inspring books that speak from the heart and make you want to never stop reading. Then you MUST READ THIS BOOK!! :) I LOVE ENZO!

im a teen and i love it...even that its said to be bad cuase of the almost rape and sex scene and the zebra its a good book...no i didnt get it for those reasons (pervs...) i got it cause it sounder and looked like a good book!!!i love it!!!! 5/5 stars

I adored Garth Stein's, Racing in the Rain! I'm an avid reader and this book is definitely one of my favorites. Make sure you have a box of tissues handy! I'm sure it will be a wonderful movie as well and I'll need to bring plenty of tissues with me! Great gift for animal lovers!

I just finished reading this book tonight.
I absolutely loved it! Its in one of my top 5.
I also cried through many parts throughout this book! such an amazing story! I went to cuddle with my doggie Marley right after I finished it!

If you don't love this book, you don't have a heart. I found Stein to have a great writing style. And those last two chapters... get out the Kleenex box. Should be very interesting when the movie comes out, who does Enzo's narration. One of my all-time favorite reads.

i'm from mongolia and it is true... dogs are appreciated dearly and we always hope that when they come back, they will be a person...
my mum jokes with my current dog saying that she spoke too much in her last life and that is why she became a dog again...
i read the book over a year ago and i still remember it.... (beautiful music too)

OMG i love this book!!! I just read it ove the summer for a class and i thought my teacher couldn't pick a better book to read (along with others) but i can't wait till universal make this a movie it's such a great book anyone who hasn't read it... SHOULD!!! :]

i just read that universal studios is going to do a movie about it with Patrick Dempsey as Denny Swift so i hope they definitely do it!! :] and this made me cry to.. so sad but i love it.

This story, more than any other, has given me peace and resolve to deal with the difficult decisions ahead. I know, it's just a Dog Story, but at its heart it is about relationship and trust and perseverance.
I could use some of that right now. Thank you, Garth Stein.

I have had dogs since i was born into a racing family. garth Stein did a masterful job. Having Enzo narrate is so awesome.
Having been a professinal Racer as Driver and an Owner , his comments on racing and life are spot on.
Great book a must read whether or not you even know how to spell racing it is a great book about life, funny, insightful, sad and entertaining. Go Enzo!!!

My mom handed me this book last nite and I gave her a look like "wtf? a book written by a DOG?" but then I stayed up unitl like four in the morning reading it and i finished it in about three- four hours. It was awesome and I'm twelve years old and it's one of the best books I've ever read.

I'm a racer, on a professional team (engineering, not driving). I grew up with dogs, but don't have any of my own. My wife is a cancer survivor. This book hit me pretty hard. I love it, will recommend it to my racing (and dog loving) friends.

Fortunately, I'll be home from school this weekend, so I will be able to watch that race. I was at the track in May for the Rolex race, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. It's a great track. What do you do for Dyson?

I just got done with this audio book and am blown away. Although I'm an avid F1 fan and a dog lover, this was an amazing story. This trailer doesn't do it justice. Patrick Dempsey bought the rights to make a movie for a reason. Just wait, it will be a mainstream story told someday. Absolutely amazing!

Dogs TOTALLY understand us! And the odd thing is, I understand my dogs...they tell me what they want, specifically. It's bizarre, nice, but bizarre. I just bought the book, I'm happy to see, from the reviews, it was worth the money.

Just finished it last night, its a GREAT book! Had my little chihuahua Kimi in my lap for most of the reading :) Was extra enjoyable as I live in Seattle, have raced those tracks, and have a dog named for an F1 driver. I hardly ever read as well, and really liked this book!

I really loved this book. It was so emotional. Many tears. Now I hug my dog EVERY single day. But, now i wonder, like in the story, could dogs understand us like Enzo and not speak? Were we ever dogs like Enzo and not remember it?

Im 16 and i rarely read. I dont even read the books they tell me to read for school. this is the first full book i have read in years and it is great. i would recomend this book for any animel lover. this is the best book i have read in my life so far.

My dog Jake died 2 weeks ago. Just before he died, I leaned down and whispered in his ear..."come back and find me"..and then he died...The following day, I told a friend of mine that Jake had died...AND SHE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS BOOK...This is the first book I have read in 12 yrs...Sat on the front porch and finished it in about 4 hrs...Yes,with many tears and many thoughts of Jake...
