  • You will love the book

  • Anyone who has lost a golden or any other dog for that matter wi

  • This book needs to be a film

  • My 13 year old golden died on Dec 12th. I put off reading this, so I could heal from the great loss of losing her. I'm glad I did because, when I started reading the first chapter I started crying; thinking of my Enzo. I haven't been able to put it down. It's so unique to be able to see the world through Enzo's eyes. It's hard not to feel for Denny, Eve, Zoe and Enzo. I bet the twins arranged for Annika to throw herself at Denny so they could have a reason to take Zoe after Eve's death.

  • I miss my doggy so much. I can't stop crying....

  • Just finished this book maybe 10 minutes ago. Still hugging my dog.

  • I wasn't sure about buying this book. But, having nothing to read, I said " Well, I guess you are my only hope". So I bought it. I've never thought that it would be so deep and so..beautiful. I'm not really a dog person, but after reading this book, I definitely look at them with different eyes. It is a wonderful book, and I recommend it to anyone.

  • I loved this book. It's one of my new favorites. My Dad got it for me for my birthday this year after reading it himself, and it sucked me right in. I could relate to it in a number of ways. Enzo reminded my Dad and myself of our old family dog that passed away about a year and a half ago. It made me miss him so much. I still tear up when I relive the emotions the book made me feel, especially in regards to my dog. Even so, the book really did touch my heart.

    Peace and love from Seattle.

  • Just loved this book. Such a good story with a good ending.

  • i feel like this let down the book. It wasn't as warm and loving as i pictured enzo to be. i imagined him speaking like a human, lke a man. not some robot- what is this?

  • How did they find a dog that looks exactly like Enzo is described?! Amazing haha

  • I found this book accidentally at the local Sal Val. It was only a few bucks and it had a picture of a dog on the front. Heck, I thought, it can't be that bad then. I bought it. I opened it up and couldn't put it down. This was one of the best books I ever got my hands on. I want an Enzo dog :)

  • I thought this was an amzing book. It brought back a lot of emotions from when I lost my best friend. I would recommend this book to anyone who asked me. Garth Stein did a fantastic job keeping the reader captivated and wanting to read more.

  • i cried at the end of the book. i couldnt help myself. the ending was just too bittersweet

  • Love this dog and will never look at crows the same way again!

  • Hands down, the best novel I have ever read. Ever.

I am now going to take my best friend for a walk.

  • @TheBoscoSlim I want to read it, but my parents say it's "Innapropriate" why? It's about a cute loyal dog :(

  • @LabradorOps23 It does have some adult themes in it and some foul language. Your parents are looking out for you, which is good. The book will be around when you are ready.

  • @TheBoscoSlim I heard it was made into a kid version, my english teacher owns it so mabey I could borrow it, and thanks :) when I get older I'll read this version

  • how is this not a movie?

  • The zebra hit the dislike button 4 times!

  • I remember this !! :)

  • Enzo watching the TV is pure gold.

How good is this book? I look at my own dog in a whole different light now.

  • @TheBubbaZed Its really good. Its AMAZING its a pretty big book but its worth the read :)

  • I've never cried while reading a book. Ever. Till now. Dammit, Garth Stein...

  • @Wakaboo14 IKR??!!! I was at the end and now i cant stop reading it... :(

  • the movie comes out in 2012!!!!! so excited! :D

  • @aac0722 really ???

I hope they don't fuck the story the way they did it with Marley & Me

  • best book ever

  • Two barks means faster

  • I love this book so much, hope its made into a movie sooo bad!

  • Just finished it. The only book to ever make me cry. Very cathartic in helping me with losing my own dog this summer.

  • omg this dog was exactly how I pictured Enzo looking like in the book! Perfect. Love that story :)

  • This is my second time reading the book. This time, I'm owning the book. <3.

  • Formula One Cars....Scuderia Toro Rosso.

  • Wonderful book! Who doesn't love dogs?

  • i read this when i was mabey 12....... it opend life for me and it showed me more things..i was on a church trip and on the way back i finished the book i had to try my hardest not to tear up in front of 15 other dudes...... the part that got me is when enzo came back

  • I can't help but wonder if Mr. Stein knew how many people he would help with this book. My Malcolm passed just about a year ago, and this book has helped me look at his passing in a whole new light. I still miss him, and I'm sure I always will, but now I look for signs that he's come back to say "hey". Awesome AWESOME book.

  • One of my all-time favorite books! Time to read it yet again.

  • i just finshed this book. it was simply amazing(:

  • I read this book in english class and I couldn't put the book down

  • There was a waiting list for this book at the library. While I was waiting, my husband got me a Kindle. I downloaded it immediately and have read it twice. Wonderful book!

  • Brilliant!! Although I cried.....err balled when Enzo past on it really helped me with the loss of my beloved Lyla. What an amazing book... Thank you Mr. Stein!

  • I literally, couldn't put this book down without finishing it. I laughed and cried, and bawled and then smiled.

  • does anyone know of any movies that relate to this book?

  • everyone laughed at me when i told them the book was told from the dog's point of view.... dumbasses

  • I'm reading this book right now :) truly amazing

  • They need a voice like Morgan Freeman. His voice is supposed to be wise. Older. Not a boy.

  • @0RobPatz4Eva0

    I agree.

  • does anyone know what the theme of this book would be? i'm looking to relate it to something else and i want to see if it would work

  • this book shook me up a bit when enzo got hit by the car...the same happend to me and my old dog it was a special ocasion she was off her leash it was the first snow of the winter...she was on the outher side of the road and it was time to come inside so i called her over but i dident c the car coming and she ran right infrount of it i miss her so much... i would give anything to have change wat happend

  • @sexysully5 just thought I would check the trailer on this book and see what people are thinking of it but didn't expect to read crucial info, the dog gets hit by a car!!?, well now I know that about it, but wish I didn't!

I am sorry about your dog, horrific to loose a special pet, I swear I would have sold my soul to the devil to make my dog immortal! Will read the book anyway even though I now now an important part of it!

  • @cherylann18 srry i gave that part away! but the similarity was uncanny! thanks for the condolences and i hope u like the book!

  • @sexysully5 the book was wonderful, read it in 1 day and it was not at all ruined by that revelation!

one year today since I lost my wonderful dog, and he was such a part of me, so lots of laughs and tears!

  • Tell me I'm not the only one who thought Enzo's voice would be like a more intelligent Dug from Up? :S.

The book is amazing though, I cried and that usually doesn't happen...

  • 4 people didn't read the book...

  • Absolutely one of my favorite books of all times.

  • I loved this book!! It's sad but happy at the same time. One of the best books I have ever read! :)

  • book trailers should be more popular... yes!

  • I loved this book!

  • I cried sooo much after reading this book!

  • I bet it is going to be filmed sooner or later...

  • I loved this story, it made me cry and love dogs even more! I am a cat lover and owner but dogs are really special!

  • i love Enzo

i never thought that dogs can be so compassionate.. this Book taught me to value dogs, (i mean more than the usual care that i do to them)... to love them more.. to be more sensitive to them..'coz here in my country they kill dogs with no mercy.. they even eat them..

  • This book did help me cope in a way with the fact that I had to put my beloved dog Rebel down of 13 years. A dog will love his master till the last beat of his hart and beyond. As Enzo did. What a extraordinary book.

  • @rebele1962

Me to. I'm sorry for your loss. It's so hard to lose your furry counterpart. Mine died in December and there isn't a day, second, min or night that I don't think of her or miss her so much it hurts. Mine was also 13. I'm so glad I read this after her death, it's a great gift to help heal. I can't seem to forget the lines "Your car goes where your eyes go" and "Don't take someone's stories, listen to them"

  • I READ THE BOOK! this is soso good.

  • Not your average "cute" dog book. I am reading it now, can barely put it down, and can assure you it is a flash of brilliance which we all need so much in this world. I will never look at my beloved dog, or any dog, in the same way again. This book is powerful and life altering!!! The best book I've ever read. Thanks, Enzo!!

  • this guys voice is so annoying.. very good book though

  • The first book that made me cry. A great read that I could truly relate to. Thanks Enzo. :)

  • I agree with carriewidder...my perspective on life has changed forever...go Enzo!

  • Read this book 3 years ago & have never felt the same about a dog since. My favorite all time best book ever!

  • im 12 and i read his and it was amazing

  • My favourite book of all time; one that actually made me cry and because of this i have become very emotional and sensitive- I am so glad there is a movie in progress- though I was planning in my final year of script writing at uni to adapt this movie into script. cant wait to see it!!! :)

  • @HeartOfPureDarkness i mean book not movie!

  • I've read the book.

    I very rarely cry...

I weep like a snotty child every time I watch this.

  • @DalecooperZ ...DITTO////sat on my front porch and read it last year..tears just streaming down my face...wife kept coming out making sure I was ok...3 hrs later..done...GREAT BOOK !!

  • I'm in a band with the authors son.

  • Im 14 and ive read many books in my life but this one is the best ive ever read.

  • I read the book in two nights. It was one of the most uplifting, amazing books I have read in a long time. I have always thought my Scruffy was a human trapped inside a dog's body. I too did not want to put the book down after finishing it! I gave it back to my friend Ruth and felt like I was giving away a piece of myself. Everyone should read 'The Art of Racing in the Rain!'

I don't think they should make it into a movie. The passion, love and emotions will be lost on the big screen.

  • im curious... has anybody seen this movie AND read the book? and if so, would you recomend the movie? the book was simply amazing! i was hooked from the beggining. book made me cry and changed the way i saw dogs and they're way of life. great book :)

  • The book was freakin' amazing.! This clip has no passion.! I hope that the movie will be better!

  • This is more than a book, it is a life changing moment. It will change how you look at dogs forever! Enzo teaches us more about the human spirit than any human ever has. It will touch your heart like no book ever written has. You will be a different person after reading it, I promise! I carried the book around with me the day after finishing it, I simply didn't want to put it down.

  • I love this book so much! I love this dog so much! Thank you Garth Stein for Enzo!

  • This advertisement is really bad, but the book is incredible! One of the most inspiring books about love, loss, and life.

  • I sat down and read this book in 4 hours, I just couldn't put it down. It was that good, it immediately jumped to my favorite book, and is one I frequently suggest to people to read. It definitely surprises you.

  • This is all wrong. Read again. There is NO passion in this clip.

  • I loved it *-* I cried soo much when I finished reading it, Beautiful story it has everything a story needs it has drama, comedy, and I'd tell it has adventure too :) PLEASE PLEASEE make this book into a moviee I'd love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS GARTH STEIN!!!!

  • ja przeczytałam w pół dnia :) piękna książka a na końcu to się rozpłakałam :(

  • I just finished reading this book and am blown away. It made me laugh and cry and think and wonder. It was hard to read the end through my tears. It is amazing...I thought a book written from a dog's point of view would be contrived. Was I wrong! I think I'll never look at a dog the same way again....

  • I read the book in 2 days, I just finished it today. And it was amazing

  • I adored this book! It is one of the BEST books I have ever read, with such wonderful advice, it is the first story that I've read from the P.O.V of a dog! I loved it!

  • This book is pure amazing.

  • "The Art of Racing in the Rain" Definitely my read of the year.

  • My Movie Share . com has this on it

  • Damn book. It made me cry.

  • LOVE IT

  • I loved this book...it made me cry and I can re-read it any time without getting bored. But I sob everytime. Even if its a dog, this just proves that dogs are much smarter than they appear...its tragic but teaches how to persevere and love life even when nothing is going your way. This story is great, and will always be a part of my heart. Thanks Garth Stein for creating such a wonderful story to teach how to really look at the world.

  • they are. universal pictures has the rights.

  • Very beautiful and amazing book! I so happy, because reading the story.

  • i didn't know there was a movie on the book! im reading the book now! its great! i love dogs and i love how this book is based on the point of view of a dog! Enzo is adorable! <3

  • @DJ860 There's no movie. It's just a book trailer.

  • Officially SoCooL !!!

  • when i read this book, at the end i cried, and i was in class too....this is such a good book

  • Denny, allow me to introduce my young son who wants to be a race car driver too. His name is ENZO!

  • Just finished reading this...brilliant! What more can be said? I loved it!!!!

  • it's patrick dempsey, i looked it up i should have put that in my comment, haha. but he's the only one they have casted for the movie so far.

  • that trailer made the book sound gay, although it was actually a great book.

and it's wierd, the dude thats gonna play denny is perfect for the role, in my eyes at least.

  • Agreed. That trailer sucked.

  • i am sooo excited for this movie this book is my all time favorite!!!!!

  • It's not a movie, it's a trailer for the book. If they ever do make a movie, however, it better not be as crappy as the trailer looks.

  • I adored Garth Stein's, Racing in the Rain! I'm an avid reader and this book is definitely one of my favorites. Make sure you have a box of tissues handy! I'm sure it will be a wonderful movie as well and I'll need to bring plenty of tissues with me! Great gift for animal lovers!

  • NO WAY! ITS GUNNA BE A MOVIE!!!!!!! AHHH! I loved this book so much, definitely my favorite of all time!

of course the movie won't be as good as the book but i am so excited to see it! AHH!

    that just made my day.

  • this book was amazingly good.

ive read many books but i loved this one the best

i couldn't help but tear up at the end

id rly like this trailer tho..the guys voice is weird lol

  • I just finished reading this book tonight.

I absolutely loved it! Its in one of my top 5.

I also cried through many parts throughout this book! such an amazing story! I went to cuddle with my doggie Marley right after I finished it!

  • If you don't love this book, you don't have a heart. I found Stein to have a great writing style. And those last two chapters... get out the Kleenex box. Should be very interesting when the movie comes out, who does Enzo's narration. One of my all-time favorite reads.

  • I just finished this book today, and I cried when I read the last two chapters it is my favorite book now, and I now understand whats going on through dogs heads, I am still crying

  • i'm from mongolia and it is true... dogs are appreciated dearly and we always hope that when they come back, they will be a person...

my mum jokes with my current dog saying that she spoke too much in her last life and that is why she became a dog again...

i read the book over a year ago and i still remember it.... (beautiful music too)

  • OMG i love this book!!! I just read it ove the summer for a class and i thought my teacher couldn't pick a better book to read (along with others) but i can't wait till universal make this a movie it's such a great book anyone who hasn't read it... SHOULD!!! :]

  • This is a great book. This video really captures the tone of the book. I really love this book. So many emotions. It even made me cry. Does anyone know who spoke in this?

Will it really become a movie?

Whoever made this did a beautiful job.

    Thank you.

    This has helped me alot.

    ~ZDO

  • i just read that universal studios is going to do a movie about it with Patrick Dempsey as Denny Swift so i hope they definitely do it!! :] and this made me cry to.. so sad but i love it.

  • My mother is dying, and I am struggling.

"Where the eyes go, the car follows."

"That which we manifest lies before us."

This story, more than any other, has given me peace and resolve to deal with the difficult decisions ahead. I know, it's just a Dog Story, but at its heart it is about relationship and trust and perseverance.

I could use some of that right now. Thank you, Garth Stein.

  • this is an AMAZING book!

  • I have had dogs since i was born into a racing family. garth Stein did a masterful job. Having Enzo narrate is so awesome.

Having been a professinal Racer as Driver and an Owner , his comments on racing and life are spot on.

Great book a must read whether or not you even know how to spell racing it is a great book about life, funny, insightful, sad and entertaining. Go Enzo!!!

  • Awesome job on the video, and the story! Patrick Dempsey will make an incredible Denny..... the video really captures the tone of the book, too! Hopefully the movie will be made sooner than later.. a relevant tale for these trying times.

  • Great Book...enjoyed it very much.

  • My mom handed me this book last nite and I gave her a look like "wtf? a book written by a DOG?" but then I stayed up unitl like four in the morning reading it and i finished it in about three- four hours. It was awesome and I'm twelve years old and it's one of the best books I've ever read.

  • I'm a racer, on a professional team (engineering, not driving). I grew up with dogs, but don't have any of my own. My wife is a cancer survivor. This book hit me pretty hard. I love it, will recommend it to my racing (and dog loving) friends.

    Mr Stein, I salute you.

    sjd

  • What team do you work for?

  • Dyson Racing

  • Wow, congrats on your Petit Le Mans win.

  • thanks!! headed to laguna this week!

  • Fortunately, I'll be home from school this weekend, so I will be able to watch that race. I was at the track in May for the Rolex race, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. It's a great track. What do you do for Dyson?

  • needs to be a monie best book

  • *sniff* made me cry but i loved it = ]

  • I just got done with this audio book and am blown away. Although I'm an avid F1 fan and a dog lover, this was an amazing story. This trailer doesn't do it justice. Patrick Dempsey bought the rights to make a movie for a reason. Just wait, it will be a mainstream story told someday. Absolutely amazing!

  • Great book.

  • Dogs TOTALLY understand us! And the odd thing is, I understand my dogs...they tell me what they want, specifically. It's bizarre, nice, but bizarre. I just bought the book, I'm happy to see, from the reviews, it was worth the money.

  • I fineshed today :D

    AMAZING!I cried a lot! lol

  • fantastic book.

  • One of those books you just can't quit thinking about after you read it. Amazing

  • Just finished it last night, its a GREAT book! Had my little chihuahua Kimi in my lap for most of the reading :) Was extra enjoyable as I live in Seattle, have raced those tracks, and have a dog named for an F1 driver. I hardly ever read as well, and really liked this book!

  • Almost finished the book =D loved it <3

  • NeoQuello,

Are you serious with this question? I'm probably twice your age and this was one of the best books I've read. I am a driver but if you will read this book, you will see for yourself.

  • i cired like hell.

  • I really loved this book. It was so emotional. Many tears. Now I hug my dog EVERY single day. But, now i wonder, like in the story, could dogs understand us like Enzo and not speak? Were we ever dogs like Enzo and not remember it?

  • Same here! It amkes everyone wonder.

  • I dont really read at all, but I read this and it was terrific.

  • Just finished this book in an afternoon of one sitting. Beautiful and touching.

  • Enzo is my hero. If you don't read another book, read this one. You'll be glad you did.

  • This is quite possibly the best book I have ever read.

  • This is the same with me I never read books and i read the first page of this i was hooked for about a week until i finished it

  • Im 16 and i rarely read. I dont even read the books they tell me to read for school. this is the first full book i have read in years and it is great. i would recomend this book for any animel lover. this is the best book i have read in my life so far.

  • This book is AMAZING! ♥

  • My dog Jake died 2 weeks ago. Just before he died, I leaned down and whispered in his ear..."come back and find me"..and then he died...The following day, I told a friend of mine that Jake had died...AND SHE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS BOOK...This is the first book I have read in 12 yrs...Sat on the front porch and finished it in about 4 hrs...Yes,with many tears and many thoughts of Jake...

A very, very good book, but a greater experience...
