@SuperBluepurple Fortunately with a lucky Mawashi Geri Jodan (round Kick to the head). If this would have gone full distance he would have been whitewashed (I'm a knockdown karateka) by the San Shou Fighter on points.
SunWukong4, that is very true. Particularly I practice karate-do and tiger-crane kung-fu with a mixture of tracma. There is no best/worst style only the adaptability of fighters in particular situations. Here the karateka could not outmatch sanshou take downs but has proven its power with his ko roundhouse kick.
other styles have a hard time fighting in sanda because leg grabbing is usually not allowed in other types of kickboxing. if sanda fighters fought in full contact or thai boxing rules then they would have trouble adjusting as well
Ur 1000000% true . No best martial arts only the more lucky, stronger, smarter, luckier, etc fighter wins . Hell even the shaolin monks can be beaten , after all they are human rite? But u need alot of skill to do dat hhahaha
if sanda sucks then why in many matches the kyokushin/full contact karate fighters lose alot to sanda fighters. I honor the karate fighters who win sanda but no style is worse/best. saying sanda sucks you must be mad that sanda wins alot.
the ather kyokushin karate that lose against sanda are i.k.o 2 international karate organization not i.k.o 1 is another federation because i.k.o is better
just so you know there are lots of fights with sanda and karate and sanda wins quite alot but points or knockouts. not saying sanda is better but after all its victories it has proven it doesn't suck
Well...Sanda fighter should understand that it is a kickboxing. If it was a real fight, he would have won easily...with that throw. Kyokushin guy did well, since they don't hit face in kumite sparring, and don't use globe.
@MechPhantom i agree. we can't compare fighting styles against each other because they have different moves. styles don't fight each other. people do.
@akatsukitensei01 haha ur a very smart person man really. Wish u good luck and strive for the best and remember never ever compare bro just go at ur own pace , PUT EFFORT in what u wanna get,if u do dat anything is possible. See ya again my bro peace be upon u =)
Ko Taisei (kyokushin karate) is the guy in black shorts winning the fight by KO after being thrown several times by the sanshou/sanda guy in red/white shorts.
Throws are not allowed in kyokushin or k-1 kickboxing (whereTaisei also fights), but scores high points in sanda rules. So Taisei simply was not as used to them as the sanda guy he faced.
True, true. But the problem is that Kyokushin guy used a typical kickboxing/karate/Muay Thai combo. He kick low several times, then trick his opponent's attention to his leg, then strike head...Sanda guy underestimate Ko Taisei.
ah, i see my number 5 caused some confusion, that was directed to those keyboard warriors who started all the "real street fight" situation thing. It was just to tell them that in a ring under rules is completely different than fighting on the street. Both mentally and physically. There are articles that explore the differences between the 2 and even a trained sports fighter can fail to defend himself properly on the street.
Well it depends, because some fighters tend to be relaxed when they fight, you know those fighters you see that just move round and round the ring picking off their opponents. But when it's an aggressive one, it's different. But the best defense is KNEE TO THE GROIN!
3) Dont celebrate too soon, a fight dont end until its the end
4) Kyokushins karatekas dont expect counter-throws, attempting to catch a kick while risking it hitting u with full strength in kyokushin is suicide
5) Dont bring street situation to try talk about a ring fight. Its fuking different. Eye gouging hair pulling ball kicking is all allowed on the street not to mention guns as well. Dumb.
10) you used your #5 argument to counter-argue that getting thrown to the ground on the streets would hurt making it seem like you think the ultimate strategy is to KO someone and I'm just saying it's not the only way to win.
This was under full San Shou rules with San Shou judges in China and the San Shou guy still lost. Yeah but... What if..... shoulda, woulda, coulda but didn't.
depends on the person, the main advantage to sanda fighters over kyokushin is the use of the throws which allows unknown stimuli to keep the sanda fighter unpredictable. Although like with all martial arts and all fighters should take stuff like this into consideration and develop their style to counteract such things
Hmmm....I have to admit....Sanshou is an awesome sport....throwing elements, grabbing kick elements, punching/kicking elements...things other martial arts can learn from....Having said so, after all, it is a 'sport'...once the guy was thrown down, in a real fight, that would be the end of it.
Unfortunately this is in the ring and all those slams and throws weren't as effective. The "one dimensional" fighter is the one that's lying on the floor KOed!
You're kidding me if you don't think the sanda fighter was too one dimensional. Yeah he would have won...by points. While the JPN fighter was constantly looking to KO his opponent, the Chinese fighter is trying to win by points.
"Win by points"? If it was a fight without any rules in the street, I'm pretty sure those slams and throws would have killed or at least grippled the Chinese guy. He would have been looking for the KO while tha JPN guy would have been try to paralize him. So i wonder who is the real "one dimensional" fighter.
Yeah I know that throws score more points but guess who got the KO? The Chinese Sanda fighter was too one dimensional. Throwing is good but his strategy should be more balanced. He should have been using his throws to upset the JPN fighter's rhythm and composure, setting up his striking combos.
balance wasn't the problem. The San Shou fighter just got too cocky as the fight progressed. He started droping his hands and that's how he got clocked. IF he would have kept his hands up, he would have won.
Good fight by Taisei. It is obvious that he has big problems with avoiding throws, which he simply is not used to (while in sanda it scores points), but that is the drawback of stepping into someone else´s rule system.
Also good seeing FEG supporting sanda events in china. Perhaps we will get to see some mainland-chinese sanda names in K-1 soon?
more all-round style -> more versatile training and more tools in a fight -> more flexible and successful fighter

6) don't act like just looking for the KO is better than using skill and technique to out-point your opponent to a victory.
It's called strategy. you guys say the sanda is one-demensional even though the karate guy doesn't even know how to wrestle.
ragingbull87 3 years ago
7) where in my comment relates to anything you just said?
