  • Absolutely beautiful!!!

  • To the fallen sons of the world.

  • Thank you for taking the time to honor the people who sacrifice for our country!

  • My respect to all men and women gave their life from freedom. They are heroes. Better to die for something nor to live for nothing. God bless you all! R. I. P.

  • Respect is all I have for them. Thumbs up if you have respect too.

  • I remember my dead.

  • Thanks for posting this video in support of the troops. We need to remember them... never forget!

    USMC Vietnam Vet

  • I am muslim and proud to say that there is a special place in hell reserved for the people who attempt to justify their evil and murder in the name of Allah. Bin Laden and his ilk will receive their righteous punishment for their evil.

  • @boogeyman664,

u are a complete and utter tool. Even if it was "greed" they were fighting for, they probably signed up so they could defend their nation. We need soldiers dumbass, even if it is during a time of peace. Do u honestly believe that every soldier that has died thought "yay, i get to kill innocent people"? If so then I will sleep better when u and the people like u are burning in hell. May God judge rightly any man who will criticize someone who has died protecting their freedom.

  • are you kidding me , fighting for theyre country , the fighting was thousands of miles away from the united states , in the iraqui´s home lannd no in ours , and if you bring up 9/11 that was the terrorist in afghanistan , some might fight that do belive is for the right reason but sure enough many do not , a killer is a killer in gods eye

  • I think I'd rather go to my idea of Hell than boogeyman664's idea of Heaven.

According to Scripture, *all* mankind's "righteousness" is as filthy rags.

If you believe we're fighting for oil, you are an idiot. If you think anyone is innocent - them, us, anyone...you're an even bigger idiot.

    Earth is full boogeyman...go home.

  • For the fallen

  • Enjoyed your tribute, great song, very moving presentation.

    Thank you for posting.

    A Proud US Navy Veteran!

  • Whay the porlitic's don't stop the war's? I'm sorry the dead men the bother sides.

  • Those men and women are in my thoughts and heart every moment I wait to join them.

  • wuts the beat called at 2.26?

  • wuts da beat called at 3.11?

  • its from the movie We Were Soldiers

    with mel gibson

and i believe it is "look around you" by nick glennie smith

and the song right after is gortoz a ran

  • This version is particularly touching as it is sung by the West Point Glee Club.

  • Perhaps the best song to commemorate a soldier's passinga away.

I've sung it in my heart at my dad's funeral: he was an Italian Army General, veteran of WW2, died at 91 in October 2008 and on his last day he told he was going to meet his soldiers fallen under his command in 1942.

    Our heroes live forever.

  • Dam dude this deep what your father said man, that really touched my heart.

  • for that, i salute him with all my heart. god bless

  • The most beautiful songs EVER made to HONOR our BRAVE! It gives me goose bumps EVERY time I hear it! And yes it brings tears to my eyes also!

  • I have just listened to a radio programme hear in the UK where the presenters were calling for a homecoming parade yet a numbers of callers where totally against it - unbelievable! I just wish people could see that soldiers feel pain, cry and suffer when comrades fall and ignore the fact that politicians sent them to a warunder false pretences - the politician may lose his job - but not his pension - the soldiers lose their lives or get maimed - HONOUR OUR TROOPS US & UK

  • I heard this performed the first time at President Reagan's funeral. It started me sobbing then; I still lose it when I hear this. It's a beautiful hymn. God bless our troops at home and abroad, and may there be a day when our troops overseas are there for peaceful purposes. May the souls of our Fallen Brothers rest in peace, and may the Light Perpetual shine upon them. God Bless America. s/ a Retired USAF Major

  • karlschlaussen

Bless you brother and ALL our fallen heroes.

    God bless America !

(From a Canadian who fought in Vietnam)

  • Major - you are so correct.

Thanks for your service to our country.

    Take care

  • We will never be able to repay you for your service to us....thank you and god bless you and your entire family

  • Profound...peace to all!!!!! 5/5

  • 3:07 is fake right? that cant be real!

  • yes its real

  • it is very real...its a great honor to bring them home....i only know this b/c i am airline pilot

  • No I def understand that its a great honor of course it is. But i didnt know they traveld on commerical flights.

  • itloads -- It is very real. Watch HBO over Memorial Day weekend and watch the movie "Taking Chance". It is a true-to-life depiction of a USMC LTC's experiences whilst escorting the remains of a fallen brother in arms home for his funeral. Be sure to have a box of Kleenex handy.

  • A friend of mine was on a flight that was carrying a Marine back home much like that. He said that the entire plane went silent and the entire terminal stood still. He said it was eerie.

  • I promise you all Iraq will be a great succes. the Iraq War is the solution to PEACE in the Middle East!

  • instead of fight, and solve the world's problems together. I know it's easier said than done. Before I get off topic all I got to say is that I salute our soldiers and mourn their family's losses. What is anybody really fighting for anymore?

  • It's very sad how fathers and mothers can lose their sons and daughters, and that sons and daughters could lose their fathers or mothers. Why should political ideals and religious fanatics bring about something so destructive. We've changed in many ways, but war, the willingness to kill, commit murder, and greed will never change. I'm not anti-war, but we should make war on the very people that will kill innocent people in the name of their god or for greed. All nations should band together...

  • I also grieve with the families who have lost their brothers and sons. But I also want to tell you that World War II Russians killed more than 22 million people. Therefore, all Americans should know: - Russian does not want war! We should all live in peace!

  • Thank you for your sacrifice. Great tribute. What is the last song called?

  • Thank You very much! The song is called: Gortoz A Ran - J'attends by Denze Prigent featuring Lisa Gerrard. The ending I took from Blackhawk Down. Once again thank you to everyone for the positive comments and honoring those who have so selflessly given their lives. We will NEVER forget!!

  • @happydays12345

its called th emansion of th elord

  • Very moving, nicely done. May all the faithful departed rest in peace no matter what nation. May they rest in peace.

  • Amen

  • Thank you to all the American and Allied Soldiers who serve now, in the past, and who have fallen on behalf of my sorry ass to keep me safe and free. I am sorry for not being able to be as noble as you. Thank you.

  • nice bid for attention, ass

  • Whats the end portion from? where the guy gives the excerpt?

  • It is from the movie Blackhawk Down, when the credits are displayed.

  • No words can adequately describe the sacrifice of men

    and women we honour today.

Not for fame or reward, not for place or rank

Not lured by ambition or goaded by necessity

But in simple obedience to duty as they understood it

These men and women suffered all, sacrificed all, dared all and died

  • I salute the fallen American soldiers who gave their lifes for their country and human freedom. And I surely wish my fellow Germans would think so, too, instead of spitting on the dead...

  • I just want to say thank you and a HOOAH to everybody! NEVER let their sacrifices be forgotten!!

I also wanted to address the following:

I DO believe in freedom of speech, a cornerstone of this Great Nation. However, this is not the place to make political comments and to convey your opinions in a fashion aimed at causing debate, conflict, and heartache. There are other places for that!! I WILL DELETE THEM! BE RESPECTFUL! Thank you.

  • Your entitled to voice whatever oppinion you have. That is more than the Iraqis could say. Until we showed up the only oppinion the were allowed to voice was Saddams. Further more. Your not an American. Your country is not the world power and so you oppinion on what we decide to do matters little. Finally, Our millitary fights for freedom and sacrafices greatly for this nation. Whether or not they agree with the war they do what the nation calls them to do. That is why all Americans honor them.

  • my choir is about to sing this song in a concert and suggested we go on youtube and listen to it. watchin this video made me realize how important it is that we preform this song with all our hearts and to remember the fallen soldiers.

my uncle just recently went off to iraq for the second time and i pray that he will come home alive and unharmed.

i would like to say thank you to all who gave their lives for us to be free. god bless america!

  • Thank you for posting this. I have not served and I don't know anybody who is presently in the service, so videos like this remind me of who is fighting for us and offers only a glimpse at the price they pay. I weep yet I have no idea, I'm just a sheep, but I'm grateful for their service. I pray you all come home soon.

  • I have looked at other vids of this, and as a British Korean Vet. my blood runs cold as I remember my comrades who I left there. It worries me when I see some negative comments. It is one song that typifies a soldier, and if you have been one you will know what I mean.I also sing this with pride in a Male Voice Choir here in England, and it can bring a tear to my eyes. Great.

  • Great job on this video, and a great song to go with it. It's very powerful.

  • Respect from Australia.always will be fightin faithfully on your side.honour to the fallen

  • This is the most beautiful video i've ever seen, i broke in tears my most of my family was in the US Military. My grandfather served in the Army in World War II in the Pacific Theater, my father served in the army In Vietnam, one of my uncles was in the Air Force, my older brother just got out the Army after a deployment in Kosovo And three deployments in Iraq, and a cousin in the 82nd Airborne deployed in Afghanistan. Thank you for the beautiful video. God Bless

  • I have so much respect for all veterans out there. Thanks so much.

  • One to all and all to one. Thx you Godless you all

  • Is one for all and all for one

  • As a member of the military that went over there, I resent the fact that you think I went there over lies. Don't believe everything you read in the mainstream media. Men and women have sacrificed their lives, their relationships and more than you can know. Don't cheapen that with political mumbo jumbo.

  • Well said DBroncoz. I also spent a year over there and I have no second thoughts about going next year as well. Infantry all the way!

  • I have not served, but as a member of a family who has, I am smart enough to show respect and be thankful for their servce. My husband is retired Navy. My father is retired Amry, after 33 yrs service I might add. Both my grandfathers retired full bird Cols. serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. All these men and those like them are soley responsible for me standing in the warm light of freedom today. I will do or say nothing that would disrespect their sacrifice.

  • i will be serving among our brothers soon

    11b

    departs jun 2nd 09

  • Hooah to you! Best of luck and thank you for your sacrifice!

  • @afjrotckid GOOD LUCK M8 AND HOPE U MAKE IT OUT OK =) I RESPECT WHAT YOU ARE DOING FOR AMERICA BLESS U =)

  • @afjrotckid God bless you...I will pray for you.

  • amazing tribute... thank you for never forgettin and givin ur lifes so others may live ... to my fallen brothers we carry u in our minds and souls... godspeed

  • HONOUR, BROTHERS in Arms

  • Correction: the spelling of the father of Christian, the boy at 4:32 is: Staff Sergeant Marcus Golczynski . Google his name and check out his letter a week before his death, two weeks before he was due to return.

  • wow

    good job

i heard the poem at the end from my grandpa and it has stayed with me.

i am in the national guard as a 21Bravo and i am happy that someone is taking the time to remember the fallen. Thank you for this video.

    Sincerely: Private Patrick A. Clemens

  • Godspeed to you PVT Clemens

  • thank you

  • Thank you for doing what you do and for defending these shores. I know that a BSA uniform is a far cry from that of one from the military, but I still wear mine with great pride. I hope I speak for the Boyscouts of America when I say this.

    With Great Respect-

Eagle Peter J. Taisler, active SPL Troop 221, Manorville NY.

    Once more thank You!

  • This by far the most beautiful tribute to America's Fallen Fighting Men. To HappyDays- Thank you for making such a beautiful tribute. I lost my Great Uncle in Vietnam to a land mine. I'm sure Cpl. Joesph A. Taisler would think the same. I wish my generation would be more grateful to vetrens and the fallen. I'm not tring to prove that I know everything, but I like to think I know enough to care. God Bless our Troops Past, Present, and Future. Respectfully- Eagle Scout Peter J. Taisler

  • "It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced...that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain." -- President Abraham Lincoln

A fitting tribute to our fallen troops. May God continue to bless our troops in harms way!

  • where can i find the picture of the little boy at 4:32?

  • The boy at 4:32 is Christian Golczynski and you can get more info about his Dad, Marcus, by googling Staff Sergeant Marcus Golcynski. You will be amazed at the story of Marcus and the words he left behind for all of us. The picture was taken exactly one year ago today. May eternal light shine upon all of them and may the unmitigated gratitude of our nation lift up the hearts of all our gold star mothers and fathers, wives and husbands, and sons and daughters.

  • To fallen soldiers let us sing where no rockets fly nor bullets wing Our broken brothers let us bring to the mansions of the Lord No more bleeding no more fight No prayers pleading through the night just divine embrace, eternal light in the mansions of the Lord Where no mothers cry and no children weep We will stand and guard tho the angels sleep All through the ages safely keep the mansions of the Lord
  • If anyone knows where I can find the lyricks to this hymn let me know where I can find it.

  • this is a beautiful tribute to the fallen of all countries involvd in iraq and afghanistan and all conflicts before . thank you all & rest in peace.

  • I salute you all who fought in foreign countries. You are our heroes.

  • Rest in Peace bothers.

    ~Wounded Marine

  • we can not forget the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice.we can not forget aswell, not just American and British, but the Polish, German, and other countries who have lost sons and daughters. May they always be remembered for who they are and what they did.

  • A truly moving video - I hope your troops are treated with more respect than the average british soldier - people should remember our soldiers both british and american didn't choose to be in iraq - they are doing their job and deserve our total respect and thanks.

  • "They shall not grow old

as we that are left grow old:

    Age shall not weary them,

    nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun

    and in the morning

    We will remember them."

  • When I look at videos like this one......three words come to mind, words which mean much to those who served but nothing to those who chose to mock: Duty, Honor, Country.

May God bless our American fighting soldier, sailor, airman, and marine. Know that there are millions of us out here who appreciate your dedication to service and your devotion to your fellow man and woman.

  • Outstanding, it catches the essense of our warriors ultimate sacrifice.

    Thank You

    A Former Marine/Soldier

  • Oops...sorry for the double post!

    Heidi

  • "The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war."

    Douglas MacArthur

I think the majority of Americans have forgotten that "freedom isn't free." Thank you for the VERY powerful reminder!

What a powerful video! Freedom isn't free and I think the average American has completely forgotten this. Thank you for the very powerful reminder! Kudos to you!

  • This is the price of freedom. I thank God for men and women such as these.

  • Very well done.

  • This is hardly the place for you to express your hatred for anyone. Grow up, show some respect. Act like a man instead of a five-year old.

  • Thank You very much!

  • This is a very powerful video in honoring our military service members. Thank you. I must say "Bravo Zulu" to your work.

    Very Respecyfully,

    EM2 Park - US Navy
