  • Does it work well with Windows 7?

  • please respond i am looking at slates and also convertible tablet laptops and i just wanted to know how good is the drawing i am getting a laptop or slate just for designing, how is this one and do you have any laptop convertibles that you would recomend that are fast and have a good or great digitizer

    thanks a lot

  • @MrBmx781 Check out a channel called Daarken, if you play Magic the Gathering, or Warhammer Online, then you may know of his work. He uses this tablet, and recommends it, and he even does digital art tutorials with it.

  • @kingsidorak ok thanks i am actually in the process of buying this exact tablet with docking station

    thanks

    roger

  • One thing for sure, one has to understand, that after going through, MANY tablets, WITH THOSE SAUSAGE LIKE STYLUSES, These devices will always be true winners, one reason being, people just want to write, people want to save paper, and money, and they dont wish to fool around writing with fingers either... so.... you can never write with a spongue for ever, and waste around 600 for an iPad, and 25 for a stylus that is poor in writing...

  • its on ebay for 250 bucks... almost 100% less than what it originally was

  • better buy laptop instead then having this body builder

  • im thinking of buying one of these to use as a graphics tablet because i struggle to use the ones without a screen on them, and i can't afford to buy a wacom cintiq :/

  • its to heavy if you put it in your back and it it hits something then your buggered

  • how easy is it to get in to the bios

  • This is clearly NO granddaddy!

The last model st5112 has a core2duo processor and runs windows 7, if you wanted.

    It's still an iPad asskicker.

  • Ipads are prety much giant Ipod touches. XD You can just Jail breck it and get everything for free. It anit even Illegal. Steve jobs is a Nazi. In Gates we Trust!

  • to big ...its not handy to carry it everywhere..10 inch is perfect size

  • @imade72 Thing is, this is tablet PCs granddaddy. It's 6 years old now.. they didnt intend this to be used for anything but drawing in photoshop. Shame really, I like the design more then the iPad.

  • So then if it's made for quick internet searches and a few useful apps, what makes it better than a tablet PC?

  • The iPad is much better, smaller, thinner and much cheaper. iPad > PC Tablet

  • @Mnikita7cool Ipads are giant ipod touches, you don't know anything.

  • @xXbastardX Fyi, I have both an iPad and an iPod Touch, and no, the iPad is not a giant iPod touch. You can buy much more applications on the iPad (Such as Pages, penultimate, Numbers etc.) that u cannot get on an iPod touch nor iPhone. Yes, u do need to pay for these apps but it doesnt change the fact that u also need to buy discs to install programs on a pc. Clearly u r some sort of naive 13 year old kid who hates apple, because personally I do not want to carry this Fujitsu around with me.

  • @Mnikita7cool Clearly I'm a naive 13 year old, because any person of intelligence still uses that card. It makes me laugh for somebody to even think that the IPAD OS can compete with Windows. Also: I haven't used a CD-ROM to install a game or program in three years, of course you probably wouldn't know how that works so I'll just leave it at that. Have fun with your cute little apps, I'll think of you when I'm using CS5 on my PC tablet.

  • @xXbastardX Mate, you never read anything carefully and then you write some random crap. I never said that the iPad OS should compete with Windows. Look at it this way, whats the point on having a PC tablet when u have a laptop/desktop? The iPad was not designed to be another Mac OS device, the iPad was made for quick internet searches, using some useful apps that I mentioned previously and for other different purposes. Honestly I dont need a second computer, especially 1 that is this big.

  • I bet a lefty could just flip the screen display at the OS level.

  • i have a st 5112 but i dont have any recovery disks can any tell me how to set up the finger print scanner with out them. keep in mind my device is used thinks for the help

  • do they have a smaller screen size like 10" with the same cpu ?

  • Tablet PC sucks even if you have the money tbh.

  • Tablet PC sucks even if you have the money tbh.

  • Very long but worth the watch. Thanks. You are adorable! I think I'll get the Wacom Intuos4 Tablet...

  • dude, speed up your reviews. Painfully long. Tight, succinct, presentation would be great.

  • What is the size of the HD? Is a keyboard available for purchase? Thank.

  • very useful review! detailed and you spoke clearly! i really enjoy watching it!

  • Do u know if you can download any software on this tablet just like in any desktop?

  • @MrDp297 i have the old version and it just like any desktop, the only issue i find with it is its not touch screen, you have to use the fujitsu stylus. also you will need a usb disc drive if you plan to pop in a cd or somethin

  • it sure looks heavy.

  • Thank you very much ;-)

  • went it see a blue screen that say bad image and the does not match the computed checksum

  • Thats one big freakin iphone !!!

  • thats coo but theres this now thing called a ipad

  • @casey13241 Not as powerful as this thing.

  • 2. Don't buy this device based on this guys review look at the video it's from 2006 and this tab was made in 2005 don't buy a five year old computer that's not very smart iPad is a great and functional computer and when I use mine I am always happy

  • @basile4567 This will be way better than an iPad. I have a TC1100 which is also ancient. It is a proper computer and slate PC with Wacom style screen. The iPad is not. The Fujitsu will be better than the TC1100. I think the Fujitsu has SATA connected hard drive which means you can put an SSD in. I also use Debian Linux with LXDE desktop which is very streamlined unlike OSX. Believe me this will be better than an iPad.

  • @effluxide First why are you saying will if it is already out, second no it won't tablets are not meant to run computer os they work better with a touched based os...... Ios, iPad is a real tablet the fujitsu is a wast of money again I have both, anyone who says iPad isn't a real computer has not tried one.

  • @basile4567 Touch screens are not necessarily that much better than using a pen but of course this is especially so if you want to draw because the tablets with the Wacom screens are perfect for this. Check out how much a Wacom Cintiq is. I said will be much better because you can buy old tablet PCs on ebay for much less than an iPad. I actually have a Mabook and it's OK so I'm not anti Apple. I just think they got it wrong with the iPad. It should have had more features like a normal computer.

  • 1. iPad is a real tablet computer whoever said it wasn't is wrong

  • I was thinking about getting it. After your review i'm sure its a sound investment.

  • the beginning is pretty embarrassing on your part but good review

  • Read specs first, then price, still waiting for specs......

  • i mhave the Fujitsu Stylistic 1000

  • C'est un superbe Tablet PC. On peut le trouver chez Dépôt PCà 450 euros.

  • do you need a tablet pc to get microsoft powertoys

  • This look like a shoe box comparing with ipad.....

  • @aremanil man this was uploaded in December 06 and it is still better than the ipad! yes it may look like a shoe box, but its prevista! :)

  • @aremanil The ipad is a media tablet not a real computer

its bigger because ....its a actual pc

  • 1:01 yeah i wouldnt wanna start with the beginning first either, that just sucks... ;)

    great review, just nitpicking here

  • better than ipad!!!

  • Fantastic review thank you!

  • thank you.

  • tablets have been out for a long time. But none have had a good design and popular following

  • oh john, google something and make sure it exists before you post dumb comments sound retarded :D

  • @thejugglerrr anyone who takes my comment serious is a fucking retard, retard

  • nice machine :D can you make it have a lined paper appearance like a regular notebook?

  • @RandomPerson1000000

Yes you can. Its got pain, lined, graph paper, sheet music, even a few I couldn't recognise

  • can you just rotate the screen 180 degrees for a lefty?

  • I have just purchased a used version of this fantastic tablet via Ebay for just £153; a great buy.

It is awell used B grade so the write on screen is a bit foggy.

I am wondering if the top write-on screen is replaceable, if so how do I remove the existing one? Is it just stuck down on the original screen?

Any help or advice very welcome:

  • hi guys whats the top range model in this thinking of getting one as i need for reading ebooks also is there a good onscreen keyboard like on a iphone so i can use my fingers to type. What about video playback and battery life thanks

  • I believe most fujitsu tablets use digitizers so finger input is not possible though i have not finished this video so i could be wrong. Just try looking at fujitsus home site or google around. HP makes tablets that allow both Digitizer as well as finger input and i believe the gigabyte netbook tablet uses pressure pens and finger input. Though i have yet to see a tablet with a touch interface like an iphone as only fingers can be used for input.

  • Great Review man, can you give me this website where they selling PC tablets?

Also i wanna ask how you typing like in Google or Web Communicator? i think i hear that u telling something about it but i cant just understand that and i cant find informations about it, thanks :)

  • I got a tablet but its not the one i wanted.. Where do you get the tablet computer?

  • This question seems kind of ill-contructed, but you might try ebay? They always have good deals for quality products of any kind.

  • my stylistic y more smallxD

  • 1. is it good for surfing the web.

2.can you use a keybourd for it.

3.theres no where to put a cd in.

  • 1> It's fine for surfing the web, but ideally when you have a keyboard and mouse hooked up.

2> You can hook up a USB mouse/keyboard.

3> You need an external USB disk drive.

  • uff, I swich to Pc again Mac is too expensive and has many hardware issues... have you tried the minis Pc, i am trying to choose between the Dell mini 10, or toshiba 105 nb, or the hp minis ? which one you would recommend just to internet and interactive learning programs as Roseta Stone?

  • very nice and detailed review! Excellent.

  • what happens if you exceed the 5 minute battery? does it just shut down?

(btw good video. it helped a lot!)

  • 43:59 minutes, congratulatiopns, good tablet pc. And good video!

  • cooooooool I like this video

  • HP TX series is much better dan dis.....its really awesome

  • wireless internet? I might have just missed it in the video but does it have wireless in it?

  • yeah, he had wi-fi enabled

  • Nice video. I can't believe I watched the whole thing lol.

  • does that work with your finger or just the pen?

  • Pen only.

  • nice video,

im looking for a tablet that has a screen thats anywhere from 21 to 14 or 15

my main uses would be drawing and designing, but it would be nice to be able to have a keyboard and mouse, something with a few usb ports, a nice battery life and my price range is under 2k

    Thanks.

  • whats the best tablet PC for drawing?

  • I think you might want to stick with the 21ux Cintiq - its 21" in comparison to the around 14" monitors on tablet notebooks not to mention they have 3 different pens which fill every one of your art needs.

I think it might be a good choice for you to look up the visboard (VA1-19B = 19" and the superior VA1-21B which has the larger screen AND DVI port) which is going to cost you around $500 for the 19" (which I don't suggest you get unless you try it out first) or probably $700-$800 for the 21"

  • However, the Cintiq is meant for artists so if you aren't serious about it then stick to the $100 tablets (there is also the 12wx = 12" screen model for about $1000)

If you want a functional PC (best of both worlds though you'll only get a 14" monitor) then there are products like the R400 offered by Toshiba or the T4220 & ST5112 (as shown in this video) offered by Fujitsu among others.

Just to let you know Mac has its own tablet PC as well if you are a Mac fan (I'm a PC man)

  • Oh yes Im a mac fan, thank you very very much for your answers. However i cant find mac´s tablet Pc over the internet, only that theres a Modbook, and its not convincing me...

  • Axiotron actually converted the Macbook into tablet form and you can read more about it on "Macworld" Magazines website if you have any concerns (but its not a scam or anything this project is very well known):

    macworld. com/article/55066/2007/01/modbook_fl.html

  • You also may be interested to know that HP came out with a 21" fully touchscreen PC (It looks amazing) and I'm going to find out if you can use it to draw with on Corel/Adobe (I heard its not pressure sensitive but proximity sensitive)

    hp. com/united-states/campaigns/touchsmart/

If I can draw well on the touchsmart I would buy it in an instant.

  • to be more correct the Cintiq is not a PC it a monitor Graphic tablet.

  • if you still looking for one and you are seeking for a tablet PC(laptop) i would best say for now is the Fujitsu T5010, it not cheap but for what it will give you it all worth it, next along the line is toshiba M700 or the HP tx2500, HP tx2500 is great for the price but it also come with a few problem eg. screen, and processor. the ST5112 may not be great due to only one side and that mean scratched issue in long term of usage. overall i would say for today the Fujitsu T5010 is the best

  • nice wish you showed us keypad use lil more- but love this review good job

  • can u do a review on the Portégé® : M700 : M700-S7005X please and thank you

  • Wow this is long

  • Great vid, very useful.

    A bit too long though

  • Very useful review, very thorough. Much better than reading one "in print". Many thanks!

  • my lil brother had a fujitsu just like this 1, any one out there please tell me if this tablet cab be compared to the macbook tablet (the one made by some company) which 1 would u say is better? this 1 or the mac tablet? please message me! thanks!

  • Best tablet review on the whole net and still standing.

  • This is absolutely my favorite video in the world

  • Now do a mini version that's under 1 minute!

  • can convert to text

  • is there place to place cd send a message

  • my school uses this instead of books :)

  • lol

  • well, my old school buys about 20 10.000€ beamer and such things for "school education", they should have invested in that!

  • are you serious? :P

  • Is it compatible with macs?

  • MAc sucks!!

  • Good video..., i got the notebook hardware control after seeing the video. 14 min bluddy battery from charge on my vaio....think something is wrong lol

  • Hmm, OK. You don't look at this very often, I asked like 2 months ago o_o.

  • hey what do you think between the fujitsu and the motion computing, which do you think is best? they both look pretty good. by the way excellent review

  • from wat i heard....the fugitsu is the best

  • Yeah, they're great slates. Beautiful too.

But if you check out the specs on the Motion Computing slate.. it looks pretty damn impressive.

The motion Computing one isn't as sexy as this one though. :)

  • Ok first off you're gorgeous, secondly the slate is gorgeous, lastly is there an optical drive in the dock? How did you install the bluetooth program without a drive? Not sure if anyone noticed that pop up sound every so often was that the HDD protection? Is there a way to turn that noise off?

  • You buy an external optical drive.

  • I'm curious...how do i install programs on the tablet if it doesn't have a CD drive?

  • Download from the Internet? Plug in a USB drive? :)

  • what is a "sammy"? i'm new to tablet pc's. thanks.

  • He he is saying samsung, which is the maker of the other tablet pc he is talking about.

  • What is the "sammy" that you're keeping? Can we see how you use that one? And what was the skype service you used for the voice test? Also, you mentioned reader comments/questions; is this the place for those questions?

  • CRAP !

  • wow thats a sexy pc

  • you must have plenty of time, and one coffee to many! lol

your coffee must have been cold by the time you finished talking! and the poor leftys! xD

    x

  • Good review but I don't understand one thing: How many sugars is in that coffe???

  • great review, but 44 mins long :S

  • Great review.

  • A lot of useful information.

    Thanx

  • im in art school for animation and i wanted to say that that is on of the best tablets iv seen in a while thats actually practical compare to some other that when it comes to the demensions and practicality it has everything and like you said a few times, lots of flexibility.

  • cool. i was thinking ofgetting one of those to draw art with too! great minds think alike!
