Idk how ur getting these, but it's awesome! I'd really love to have the 'Under the Mountain' series that aired on nickelodeon, but I've had no luck. Do u know how I could find it? Or can u find it and I'll buy it from you? Thanx, Michele
i used to love this. i came here looking for this. thanx so much for posting. i used to watch every one of these PBS series from the early 80's. now i gotta go look for "the righteous apples" but i'll be back!
good god... I remember these... that theme song used to haunt my dreams. Props to the New York State department of education for forcing this upon defenseless elementary school children. XD LMAO
Thank you for posting this. This was another of my favorite PBS shows growing up. I'm 33 now and still have fond memories of this show. I think I was like 5 years old when I first saw this aired. This show made me want to go to summer camp.
Agreed. I remember three classes of 5th graders stuffed into one room to watch Neverending Story one rainy day. Getting picked to run the filmstrips with the black cassette players was the best. Yeah I know I was an A-V Geek and I'm proud of it.
once again, youtube has amazed me! This brings back crazy memories of my childhood. Is it me or does it seem like the older we get, the times get worse!?
The Guy at 23 seconds in the red shorts helping the bus to park is Floyd Harris, He was the manager of the camp, The camp that this was shot at real name was Camp Madison Felicia, I was standing just to the left of Floyd when the bus was backing in. My Father was the real Chef of Camp Madison Felicia at this time and my Mom was in one of the High Feather episodes when they went shopping my mom showed the kids how to check that the eggs were not broken.
You are the AWESOMEST!! I went to JHS with and had SUCH a crush on the boy who played Domingo, and watched High Feather fervently. I'm 42 now and thanks for taking me back to 1980. I <3 Domingo 4E!
Always wondered if that kid was a real diabetic? My mothers battled with the disease almost 50 years and I'm a high-risk for it because of her. The whole approach to it felt too dumbed down, maybe cause it was a kids show. At five years old I knew more about the disease than those kids did. I feel if he really was diabetic he would have insisted the scripting be taken more seriously. The whole hiding out to take his insulin because he was ashamed was insulting.
We're in the process of creating a Madison Felicia Alumni Group (now on facebook). One of our goals is to have an annual reunion. I work with Camp Combe YMCA which now runs a day camp on the site.
WOW! I also lived w/o cable as a kid over in New Jersey. This show was the highlight of my summers. Loved it. Thanks so much for uploading these episodes!
Glad everyone likes my upload. I have all the episodes on dvd. I sell them for $40 shipped but anyone who contacts me from youtube will get them for $30 shipped.
Well, chalk me up as one who DOES remember. I haven't seen this in any media in decades. Good show that brings back good memories from childhood (I was 10 years old in 1980).
I'm so glad I'm not crazy!! For years I've been singing this theme song and everybody I ask has never heard of HighFeather! My fav. episode is the one when Kim drives Tom to the bus station and he eats a bunch of candy bars!!
I know how you fell. I was thinking I was crazy to. I asked my sister if she remember high feather but she did not and I know she used to watch it with me. Going home is that episode. Episode 7 I will uploaded soon.
This is a blast from the past. We didn't have cable and my mother made us watch PBS all day. I really wish someone had access to Powerhouse. I haven't seen that show in over 20 years.
I met the girl who played Leslie in a Jamaican restaurant in NYC. She grew up to be a real honey and a fox. She said the show paid for her college education.
I ran into her again and she was dating a guy who was a party promoter for Black Diamonds.
Yeah I'd do a search every year or so and i've finally found it! All I can really remember about this (besides the great song which I remember perfectly) is that baked potatos are really very healthy and it's only the junk you put on top that's fattening. Now if I can only find "Powerhouse".
bwahahahaha i AM the first viewer aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! and i would like to say that i actually searched for this and was extremely surprised to find that it was just loaded up yesterday! I have a request- I would like to see the episode where the fat kid wins the race i think its the last one....
