Your Tegu needs to be on a substrate that it can dig and burrow in. Coconut fiber makes a good substrate and allows you to keep the humidity where it needs to be, as well.

thats not a gold tegu, gold tegu's have literaly gold stripes when their young and basicly as their get older become yellow(gold)&Black

this looks more like a columbian black ans white tegu. because of his white&black belly, and the only yellow is on his back and its not striped.

not this is a bad thing, these 2 lizards are VERY common to mistake spices.

also the black and white columbian tegu is more valuable and make better pets.
