  • Sounds plastic. Its a no no for this keyboard.

  • This keyboard have the sampling engine... why not can upload samples.... because then we have an a Emu V .for this low price :)

  • i wonder if there is some lag when u play the keys on the wireless capability !?

  • Schmidt is a pretty cool guy.

  • Why are people complaining about the sounds being "plastic" or "unreal". First of all, it's an electronic keyboard; if you want something that sounds like a piano, buy a piano. Secondly, it's a MIDI keyboard isn't it? With aftertouch! So doesn't that mean you can connect it to a computer & put in your own sounds?.. I'm looking for a good MIDI keyboard for a decent price & I'm considering this one. If someone could give me a good reason why not to buy it, please do tell because I'd like to know.

  • @MelinaMagicPants Totally agreed. This isnt exacly a synth either and I think most people fail to realize it. Its an option for those who want a nice quality midi controller, some ok sounds without spending over 500 €.

  • I wouldn't knock this keyboard just yet. I haven't yet seen one review on this keyboard that really shows it off. I will upload a video of my Longboard by the end of the week.

  • Em-u dosent make this board anymore, only the shorter version, it sucks i really wanted

  • @PIMPZproduction Weird, because Guitar Center & Musiciansfriend sell it. (the long and short one)

  • Im thinking to buy this? Its only 195€ for 61 keys midicontroller? I think its a good deal.

  • Why do you all complain so much? It's a MIDI controller, slightly more expensive than the M-Audio one, with the addition of a basic internal sound bank, which may come in handy if your rig crashes on a gig. Very wise move from E-Mu I think.

  • Why the dislikes? I've played with it in my nearest musicstore. And for this price, it's a good thing that also plays very good. Mention that a regular Midi Keyboard ( without faders, pots etc. ) almost costs as much as this thing. So... Buy a nice midi-keyboard ( With 61 keys!!! ) and get the sounds for free. So don't be too hard on this piece of equipment.

  • looks like a good midi keyboard, and cheap.. me buy

  • Makes me wish I could play keyboard

  • It sounds like it's stuck in the 90's.... This is a $400, glorified MIDI controller w/ wireless capabilities and a couple of headphone jacks. I'm totally confused and not impressed. Thanks for the review anyway...you taught me exactly what I needed to know. smh...

  • Oh, my, what a disgrace! EMU raped by Creative Labs, makers of Soundblaster cards and ProdiKeys /watch?v=aJCWziYxRVs and the ones who slaughtered Ensoniq.

WTF are they doing those crapboards for when they have the amazing Emulator X3 at the other end of the spectrum??? Focus!

  • what a piece of crap

  • I REALLY LOVE my E-MU EMAX II....

It is very sad how this company ended making this "toy-keyboards".

E-mu can say their samplers where the main instrument of one of the most influential bands in the last times (DEPECHE MODE), with their EMULATORS and EMAX's.

So, What did it happen to them?...

You could see PROPHET 08, Mini Moog voyager, and some other instruments that at least attempt to be like their predecessors..what about E-MU and ROLAND too??

  • Creative Arts has totally destroyed E-mu since they purchased it. They once were king, now - what is this? Longboard makes Casio seem advanced. Sad. So very, very sad.

  • @thermalito

normally I'd agree with you, but with the price of MIDI controllers these days, this is a steal. 61 semi-weighted key WITH aftertouch, i mean the synth is just extra as far as i'm concerned. so as long as you remember that it's not about the sounds, you're fine. Toy synth, sure, but toy keyboard? I don't think so.

if you need better sounds, then yeah obviously look elsewhere. I can understand why e-mu fans are disappointed, but that's just not who this keyboard was made for.

  • Great it has synth & acoustic sounds. And also a masterkeyboard and its pretty affordable. And thanks for this video

  • emu here is how you can climb-up with the big boys again;1)your x3 is awesome, make it 275.00dollars get it in the hands of more musicians 2)your next board 73keys 3)analog filters! 4)user upload of samples 5)with support for vst hosting 6)a real display7)look at the vintage synths/samplers in your history give me a beautiful unique design.MAKE SURE YOU USE ANALOG FILTERS,NOTHING YOU MAKE CAN COMPARE! I DONT NEED 500 Z-PLANE FILTERS MY 2 EMULATORS 3 STILL KICK ASS,ASK YOURSELF Y?

  • The Longboard is EMU's suicide death knell. What a joke. Why don't they work on Proteus X a bit more, why not bring down the price of Emulator X3 and include ALL the existing Proteus expansions?

The Longboard is an absolute joke.

  • @packoftwenty DAMN YOU ARE SO RIGHT! W.T.F.IS UP WITH THIS COMPANY?that stupid display is from 30 years ago, don't they know how it gets on your fucking nerves trying to figure out what those characters mean in al ive setting.IAM 100%EMU FANBOY,BUT THIS IS A BIG LETDOWN.

  • Test

  • I think that the most interesting feature of this keyboard/controller is it's wireless capability. Looks like the video is a little short for that matter. Although very informative. Thanks
