I just watched this last night. It was pretty good I think... Except for the last 5 seconds!! Can someone please tell me what the heck happened in the graveyard??!!
@jad3948 dude dont worry about it, i watched it about 5 mins ago and im thnking the same shit, lol. good film tho i do like these old style zombie films =D
@jad3948 The ending was accidentally burned by acid, so they used the soundtrack and simply slowed down the last part of the footage they had and called it a day. Had the footage not been destroyed, the kid would be shown to be a zombie and attack them. Pretty lame actually, but he made up for it with the ending of The Beyond.
I think that is very disturbing the fact that you found yourself, on your own, headphones on, dancing to the rythm of the music at the beggining, and suddenly you see someone's brain being crashed with the bare hands, what!! I was so happy and now this :(
A great trailer for this highly atmospheric Lucio Fulci gorefest. The stupid British Film Censor removed the drill-through-the-head scene but left the intestine spewing completeley intact! It's now available uncut in the UK- mind you, us British had to wait until the year 2000 for hardcore porn to be made legal, and even then it has to be sold and distributed through licensed premises.
I've loved City of the Living Dead ever since seeing the cut VHS version that was released in the UK by Inter-Light Video, back in the pre-certificate tape days.Only the head drilling was cut.I've since seen it fully uncut via the Anchor Bay & Arrow Video DVDs.I love it just as much now, it's definitely my favourite Fulci horror movie.
It's a cash-in on "Night of the Living Dead" and "Dawn of the Dead". Even the music toward the end of this advert is all too similar to the main music in "Dawn of the Dead".
The title implies it's about zombies, but it's actually about demonically possessed people. It's pretty shite, to be honest. Even so, there's a lot of people who like it, so I've kept my original ex-hire VHS tape, just in case I can sell it for some dosh. :-)
@soldaten66 I like this movie for more reasons than just gore. Fulci always created a dark atmosphere in all of his films (i.e. howling wind, old houses) that is chilling in itself. Plus, the stories are creepy too.
can someone explain why the girl's eyes bleed and then she vomits her organs?
askadetra 2 weeks ago
@askadetra Because it's an italian horror film and that means extra gore for the audience.

Most people nowadays think pointless random extreme close-ups are pointless and random. Maybe...but I still find them hilarious. XD

It is real movie. It was made back in 1980 by Umberto Lenzi.
The reason it looks so much like Quentin Tarantino is because QT is a BIG, BIG fan of this movie and did some references to it.
ziryab92 2 years ago
@ziryab92 - Fool! It's by Lucio Fulci, not Umberto Lenzi!
AandTIncorporated 2 years ago
it was directed by lucio fulci, actually.

@ziryab92 You're getting confused with City of the Walking Dead (Nightmare City) by Umberto Lenzi, easy mistake.
aekime 1 year ago
@ziryab92 It was Lucio Fulci, dumbass, and I don't see any similarities to a QT movie.
