It's funny how so many of the women we remember the most from that era - Ingrid, Katharine Hepburn, Bette Davis, etc - didn't fit the typical Hollywood starlet mold. Which, I think we can all say, Thank God! ;)
I haven't seen much of here movies but i am a huge Cary Grant fan and i was watching Notorious and was amazed by her acting and her beauty!!!! Later on i was watching TMC and in between movies it keep showing this girl who at the time i didnt put the pieces together on who she was, but she was the best looking girl i had ever seen!!!! Thinking it was just my taste!!!!! Well now i know its not just me. She in my is my fav with Barbra Stanwyk in a close second!!! I plan on seeing Gaslight soon!
@toplaycool19 Ooh! She's just plain adorable in Spellbound. Arch of Triumph is fabulous too, with Boyer (if you look and listen and know Ingrid and Charles movie history, you can find little bits of them in it) Someone needs to put it on YouTube, a movie that has been deprived of being watched over and over
i agree i love gaslight because of ingrid-she did such a terrific job. especially in one of my favorite scenes that they showed here too-the husband tied up to the chair and her holding up the knife and saying-"no,i'm mad!"
I'm not saying it isn't bad, I'm just saying I wouldn't think Patricia Clarkson would be a good enough narrator to this docu-mercial. Not saying she isn't, but something doesn't quite fit.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
She's terrible in Gaslight. The best thing in Gaslight is Angela Lansbury.
brownstony 3 years ago
are...you...crazy????????????????
angela lansbury is really fantastic in that movie, no question about it, but ingrid bergman WAS gaslight!
then again, i respect your opinion and i'm not about to go insulting your intelligence or anything.

Ms. Clarkson is the perfect actress to do this tribute.
She's talented, she's fresh and she's modern.

Ms. Bergman is one of my favorite actresses, too. I wish I had a fraction of her talent and charisma.
