the only fault with Pein is even if he had never lost a battle he had a bit of an ego, which can cost you a battle if it gets in the way, which i feel it had.

@RealDesignsHD I agree. Also itachi told kisame that if he had fought Jiraiya it would've been a draw at best if not he being killed. So that makes Jiraiya stronger than Itachi and he got killed by Pain that easily. Also once you know one's strength you can manipulate it. Most who fought Nagato had no idea how his bodies worked OR faced him directly against his uber rinnegan.

@nintentob True, because the very first thing Sasuke would've seen fighting Pain would be his chakra strings coming out of each body. LOL That alone drops pain's power 10 fold. Once you know how the enemy works, it is easy to exploit him. Sharingan is like a 'cheating tool' that enables that. :D

If you don't recall take a look at Pain vs Konoha's saga - not Kakashi with his sharingan, not with the Byakugan, no one could see or trace the chakra Pain was sending to control the six - cause he was changing the flaw constantly, making it impossible to be traced. And that were the actual words of one of the Konoha's agents. Also don't forget that Rinnegan is the superior version of the Sharingan - sharingan comes from the rinnegan.

It's like saying EM wave has matter/energy relationship but though they exist in wave form, they don't exist between a receiver and a transmitter. Epic fail there by kishimoto. However if u say that no chakra string is there, then there must be a wave form there which COULD be seen by sharingan. In other words, a sharingan user would see it.

people always understate how powerful Nagato is in forums and comparisons, etc. He was practically the most powerful character in the show at his peak (although I still think Itachi could have edged him out while he was alive).

I ain't a Naruto mark, but I was watching the Naruto vs. Pain fight and for the most part I think Naruto outclassed pain in every way. Sage Jutsu is the main reason he won the fight. Him going into fox mode was really Pain's fault because Naruto thought he called Hinata. Also, Naruto was finally using his head in that fight and ACTUALLY outsmarted an opponent he faced on more than one way. This is what I think. If Pain hadn't understimated Naruto, I think he would have won.

Funny thing is...In reality, Pain had just exhausted himself using the Massive Shinra Tensei...In all aspects, Pain was by far the 2nd Strongest Ninja alive in the series, to date. Madara only tops him now cause of taking the Rinnegan....Naruto got lucky...Had Pain not just exhausted himself from using the Shinra, he would of easily dominated Sage Naruto. Goes to show that almost no one could handle his sheer power. Thank God for Pain.

It makes sense now. Itachi gave naruto some of his power, which is from the Uchiha. Pain is from the Uzumaki clan and i have a feeling his Rinnegan shows just how closely related to the sage of the six paths he is. Madara could use Izanagi because he had both Uchiha and Senju powers. I have a feeling Naruto could awaken the Rinnegan.

@Prazzee2 um...no? The fox broke out of his most powerful attack like it was nothing. The planet devastator couldnt contain the fox for more then probably fifteen seconds at the most. And that is with only HALF of the foxes chakra(Remeber only half was sealed in naruto's body.) Pain is without a doubt one of my top five characters, but naruto could win if they fought again I beleive. Everything they drew on was fair, but remeber that at the end of it all when he ran into nagato in the tree
@Prazzee2 as tired as he must have been, his eyes bore the markings of both fox chakra and sage mode at once, this power being able to easily overwhelm any power nagato had by the way they showed it despite naruto being at point blank with a control rod inside him..WHICH gets stronger the closer one is. He could take Nagato and the pain bodies again if he wanted to I think.

however, nagato creating a big enough Chibaku tensai would trap it in. especially the fact that this is only 50% kyuubi as the other half got sealed by minato.

@Prazzee2 Your not factoring somthing else though man, in his current state he can use the flash particle just like his father could as well as enter sage mode on a whim AND mix the two chakras. He beat pain BEFORE he could do all this. So how could pain stop him NOW when he couldnt stop him before? Not to mention naruto's rasengann in kyuubi cloak mode is a kyuubi beam which is to date the strongest attack in naruto. Again if he beat pain before, how can pain beat him now when he is stronger?

However if you compare Kenshin to Ichigo (or naruto) than would see that their win/loose is vastly different in terms of philosophy. Is it's massive chakra resivoir as well as an increased rate of chakra regeneration natrually. You cant say he was under 25% when the terra devastation takes up about 30% of his chakra...and his STRONGEST jutsu. His absolute strongeset. Even if he had been full stamina, he would have made the same size one. Naruto broke it. First tab. Second point. Naruto knew his secret.
@rex7on Pein stated after fighting our good old pervy sage, that had juriyah known his secret of his bodies juriyah could have one the fight, calling him truly a uniqie and powerful ninja. It has been stated many times naruto has now completely surpassed juriyah. If juriyah can take him at full stamina and health, and has been aknowledged to be able to beat pein by pein himself..why cant someone who has surpassed juriyah in all ways? I would pose this question for you.
@macrul3z I am speaking naruto at the moment, at this exact point in shippuden. One, two as I said pain stated juriyah could have beaten him had he known about pain's secret. Pain has also, as have many said naruto completely surpassed their sensei. There for Naruto would be able to beat him.
@macrul3z You know who surpassed Deva path? Naruto. Wanna know how I came to that conclusion? His dead corpse says hi. Naruto won. NOW naruto has almost double the fighting power he did when he fought Nagato's bodies previously. In 6 tails state he REVERSED the shinrei tensei on the deva path. If naruto can now control a power stronger than that. I would say it's fair to argue naruto wins. It's a matter of opinion no matter the statements and thats what it boils down to.
As SOON as Deva Path's power came back, Naruto was pinned on the floor with chakra rods in his arms. Keep in mind that Pain had no intention of killing him the entire fight, and was void of his Deva Path's power for half of it. Pain had a counter for every attack he had and could have killed him at any point in the fight.
Why are you talking about Naruto's state now? I clearly said that IN THAT PARTICULAR FIGHT, Pain was the stronger one. Obviously not the case now.

2 - Naruto went in already preprared, he had information on his techniques by fukasaku, he had 3 clones full of nature chraka, he went in with toads he didnt even had contracts on (the blue one, gamatetsu, fukasaku and his wife)
3- Pain had to capture naruto, not kill him, he had to be careful.

@macrul3z you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. THERE WAS KONAN, who was stopped by Nagato, because he knew Naruto was good. If Nagato wanted to finish it, Naruto would have to have faced Konan first, which would have stalled him enough for Nagato to revive his six paths again. Why the fuck don't people understand this? Konan almost killed Madara, she's not just 'some whimp', she's an original member of the akatsuki and Naruto had ALREADY exhausted his sage clones=Konan wins.

As far as knowing about pain, it's even ground pain displayed knowledge of all of naruto's abilities at the begining of the assult on the leaf village when speaking to Konan and madara in the rain village. He did not know of teh sage mode mastery but found out soon enough. Equal grounds I would say. As for the main body,

It's not like you've gotta be a fanboy to look at the bigger picture. Yahiko only started the Akatsuki, because Madara provoked him into doing so. It was to remain hidden. It's not like he wants to run a criminal organization, and reveal that he's alive and well.
Nagato's Rinnegan was also given to him. Kishimoto revealed all of this for a purpose.

How Nagato was given the Rinnegan was never actually explained. We were shown that Nagato activated such when he blacked out, but have we ever been shown events that happened to him prior to this? That can still be debated.
Perhaps Madara didn't PHYSICALLY create Akatsuki in the normal sense, and MAYBE he didn't hand the Rinnegan to Nagato. But without his influence, neither would've been made possible.
It's just laughable the amount of people who rave about Pain and his self-proclaimed god-like status.(Not exactly referring to you..) All of these philosophies that he spouts, claiming to be a god, then the fandom trying to pit him against Madara and judging who would be victorious.
It's like..(Hello people, Nagato wouldn't be who he was if it weren't for Madara.) Without him, there would be no RINNEGAN demolishing the leaf village. He's a villain, but he should get credit.
It's the same situation with "Dragon Ball." Dr. Gero was never mentioned/credited as being the leader of the Red Ribbon Army, when in reality, he was the mastermind behind it the entire time.

@RealDesignsHD I agree. Also itachi told kisame that if he had fought Jiraiya it would've been a draw at best if not he being killed. So that makes Jiraiya stronger than Itachi and he got killed by Pain that easily. Also once you know one's strength you can manipulate it. Most who fought Nagato had no idea how his bodies worked OR faced him directly against his uber rinnegan.

@nintentob True, because the very first thing Sasuke would've seen fighting Pain would be his chakra strings coming out of each body. LOL That alone drops pain's power 10 fold. Once you know how the enemy works, it is easy to exploit him. Sharingan is like a 'cheating tool' that enables that. :D

If you don't recall take a look at Pain vs Konoha's saga - not Kakashi with his sharingan, not with the Byakugan, no one could see or trace the chakra Pain was sending to control the six - cause he was changing the flaw constantly, making it impossible to be traced. And that were the actual words of one of the Konoha's agents. Also don't forget that Rinnegan is the superior version of the Sharingan - sharingan comes from the rinnegan.

It's like saying EM wave has matter/energy relationship but though they exist in wave form, they don't exist between a receiver and a transmitter. Epic fail there by kishimoto. However if u say that no chakra string is there, then there must be a wave form there which COULD be seen by sharingan. In other words, a sharingan user would see it.

people always understate how powerful Nagato is in forums and comparisons, etc. He was practically the most powerful character in the show at his peak (although I still think Itachi could have edged him out while he was alive).

I ain't a Naruto mark, but I was watching the Naruto vs. Pain fight and for the most part I think Naruto outclassed pain in every way. Sage Jutsu is the main reason he won the fight. Him going into fox mode was really Pain's fault because Naruto thought he called Hinata. Also, Naruto was finally using his head in that fight and ACTUALLY outsmarted an opponent he faced on more than one way. This is what I think. If Pain hadn't understimated Naruto, I think he would have won.

Funny thing is...In reality, Pain had just exhausted himself using the Massive Shinra Tensei...In all aspects, Pain was by far the 2nd Strongest Ninja alive in the series, to date. Madara only tops him now cause of taking the Rinnegan....Naruto got lucky...Had Pain not just exhausted himself from using the Shinra, he would of easily dominated Sage Naruto. Goes to show that almost no one could handle his sheer power. Thank God for Pain.

It makes sense now. Itachi gave naruto some of his power, which is from the Uchiha. Pain is from the Uzumaki clan and i have a feeling his Rinnegan shows just how closely related to the sage of the six paths he is. Madara could use Izanagi because he had both Uchiha and Senju powers. I have a feeling Naruto could awaken the Rinnegan.

@Prazzee2 um...no? The fox broke out of his most powerful attack like it was nothing. The planet devastator couldnt contain the fox for more then probably fifteen seconds at the most. And that is with only HALF of the foxes chakra(Remeber only half was sealed in naruto's body.) Pain is without a doubt one of my top five characters, but naruto could win if they fought again I beleive. Everything they drew on was fair, but remeber that at the end of it all when he ran into nagato in the tree

@Prazzee2 as tired as he must have been, his eyes bore the markings of both fox chakra and sage mode at once, this power being able to easily overwhelm any power nagato had by the way they showed it despite naruto being at point blank with a control rod inside him..WHICH gets stronger the closer one is. however, nagato creating a big enough Chibaku tensai would trap it in. especially the fact that this is only 50% kyuubi as the other half got sealed by minato.

@Zurezule you dont seem to understand. when he was fighting pain in SM, pain had already lost most of his chakra and his main body couldnt be used for half the fight. also the fact that naruto had full knowledge on all his abilities AND pain had to capture him alive without dying. and as i recall pain had naruto pinned down atleast 3 times? im sorry but pain would of raped him badly otherwise...

However if you compare Kenshin to Ichigo (or naruto) than would see that their win/loose is vastly different in terms of philosophy. @mindsoulbody I know what your saying..but there are incidents such as this all the time, a loved one or friend being absorbed into drugs..being in with the wrong crowd or getting involved in really negative things or even in the heavy throws of depression. Obviously it's not gonig to be all like naruto, but some of this yes can be seen in real life.

Than again, ppl inherently tend to stick to cliche materials/ideas. Few gets out of that trend. THAT was my point. I don't care about how real-life situation can be 'compared' or 'seen as' something 'similar' to naruto's characters' development. But yeah I got your point.

@Zurezule mate...before naruto came....the deva path pain was fight with an entire army, he blow up konoha with a single blow....and he was still got stamina to face naruto in sage mode+ giant frogs + 2 sage frogs....when deva path was recover hes powers...he was defeat naruto and the frogs too easly...then he was still got stamina to face the 6 tailes + he capture it...then he was prepeared to extend the dimension of the chibaku tensei to capture the 9 tailes...

@Zurezule in final, deva path with low than 25% of hes stamina, he was still able to face naruto (at 100% stamina+sage mode) ... and in final naruto came victorious....and madara tried to destroy konoha+ with the help of 9 tailes and he failed, orochimaru failed....and deva path was blow ou the entire village with one shot... now hot the hell you can say that naruto is much stronger than Pain .... @rex7on Actually he wasnt, if you read up on it, the renegan's stronget traight is(well..one of it's strongest traits.) Is it's massive chakra resivoir as well as an increased rate of chakra regeneration natrually. You cant say he was under 25% when the terra devastation takes up about 30% of his chakra...and his STRONGEST jutsu. His absolute strongeset. Even if he had been full stamina, he would have made the same size one. Naruto broke it. First tab. Second point. Naruto knew his secret.

@rex7on Pein stated after fighting our good old pervy sage, that had juriyah known his secret of his bodies juriyah could have one the fight, calling him truly a uniqie and powerful ninja. It has been stated many times naruto has now completely surpassed juriyah. If juriyah can take him at full stamina and health, and has been aknowledged to be able to beat pein by pein himself..why cant someone who has surpassed juriyah in all ways? I would pose this question for you.

@macrul3z I am speaking naruto at the moment, at this exact point in shippuden. One, two as I said pain stated juriyah could have beaten him had he known about pain's secret. Pain has also, as have many said naruto completely surpassed their sensei. There for Naruto would be able to beat him.

NOW naruto has almost double the fighting power he did when he fought Nagato's bodies previously. In 6 tails state he REVERSED the shinrei tensei on the deva path. If naruto can now control a power stronger than that. I would say it's fair to argue naruto wins. It's a matter of opinion no matter the statements and thats what it boils down to.

As SOON as Deva Path's power came back, Naruto was pinned on the floor with chakra rods in his arms. Keep in mind that Pain had no intention of killing him the entire fight, and was void of his Deva Path's power for half of it. Pain had a counter for every attack he had and could have killed him at any point in the fight.
Why are you talking about Naruto's state now? I clearly said that IN THAT PARTICULAR FIGHT, Pain was the stronger one. Obviously not the case now.

1 - Pain wasted a fuckload o chraka batling its shinobis and doing that ultimate shinra tensei
2 - Naruto went in already preprared, he had information on his techniques by fukasaku, he had 3 clones full of nature chraka, he went in with toads he didnt even had contracts on (the blue one, gamatetsu, fukasaku and his wife)
3- Pain had to capture naruto, not kill him, he had to be careful.

@macrul3z you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. THERE WAS KONAN, who was stopped by Nagato, because he knew Naruto was good. If Nagato wanted to finish it, Naruto would have to have faced Konan first, which would have stalled him enough for Nagato to revive his six paths again. Why the fuck don't people understand this? Konan almost killed Madara, she's not just 'some whimp', she's an original member of the akatsuki and Naruto had ALREADY exhausted his sage clones=Konan wins.

@Prazzee2 Your points are somewhat valid. The pinning part, once he was saved the other time he was not. He was pinned and the nature chakra simply converted that pain. As far as knowing about pain, it's even ground pain displayed knowledge of all of naruto's abilities at the begining of the assult on the leaf village when speaking to Konan and madara in the rain village. He did not know of teh sage mode mastery but found out soon enough. Equal grounds I would say. As for the main body,

@dbz1283 And since Nagato was an Uzumaki and had the rinnegan, Naruto might have the said doujutsu as well... maybe Itachi knew about the whole thing and the "gift" he gave to Naruto was meant to allow him to awaken his rinnegan, later on.

It's not like you've gotta be a fanboy to look at the bigger picture. Yahiko only started the Akatsuki, because Madara provoked him into doing so. It was to remain hidden. It's not like he wants to run a criminal organization, and reveal that he's alive and well.
Nagato's Rinnegan was also given to him. Kishimoto revealed all of this for a purpose.

BUT he was NOT under his control by all means Madara was manipulating Nagato and Yahiko (Nagato after Yahiko died could be controlled) It is a fact that Yahiko was not under Madara's control it is logic.
You can see that of course that he didn't just start Akatsuki.

Madara gave him the Rinnegan not by his hand but by the third shinobi war - a time of great despair and pain for the world (which is when those godly eyes appear in times of great distress)
The fact that Nagatowas dieing(starving)proves that he didn't know about it(Rinnegan)
as other facts.
Madara only made thembelieve he was on their side and waited till the strong one Yahiko died to make his move or else Nagato would kill him.

How Nagato was given the Rinnegan was never actually explained. We were shown that Nagato activated such when he blacked out, but have we ever been shown events that happened to him prior to this? That can still be debated.
Perhaps Madara didn't PHYSICALLY create Akatsuki in the normal sense, and MAYBE he didn't hand the Rinnegan to Nagato. But without his influence, neither would've been made possible.

It's just laughable the amount of people who rave about Pain and his self-proclaimed god-like status.(Not exactly referring to you..) All of these philosophies that he spouts, claiming to be a god, then the fandom trying to pit him against Madara and judging who would be victorious.
It's like..(Hello people, Nagato wouldn't be who he was if it weren't for Madara.) Without him, there would be no RINNEGAN demolishing the leaf village. He's a villain, but he should get credit.
