Thanks Handler3 - I saw you there. Thanks for participating. That fashion show raises a lot of money and awareness for Goodwill Industries, one of South Carolina's largest employer. Avis coordinated the fashion event, our local TV News celebrities were gracious enough to participate, too. Some of them had to be up at 3am to be back on the news.

All of the junior models were so proud. They did an amazing job, didn't they?

I'm not sure where you are going with that thought. The whole point of the discussion was to ask an industry expert about how to really make money in modeling: The only correct answer is that "you have to DO THE WORK" and not let certain agencies fill your head with false dreams and notions that you can be an "overnight success" just because you are pretty. In the real world, it just does not work like that. It's not the picture painted on TV.

Yeah and her free advices are hilarious. Being a model is useless to the world ok ? Its just a leisure even though its a lot of work. Being a doctor is fucking essential, take out the doctors from the world and everybody will die. Take out the models and nobody will (it will even be better cos ppl will stop caring at chosen stereotyped beauty standards and find beauty everywhere). So my point was : using Doctor as a comparison for such a shallow job is hilarious.

You missed the point entirely. What Avis said is that just like a doctor goes to school to learn a specialty, do not think that modeling is any different. You have to learn your trade, pay your dues, and do the work...nothing is handed to anyone on a plate, so if modeling is your heart's desire in life, be ready to work hard for it. It is magnificent advice for young people today. There is a billion dollar industry that proves modeling is very important to our economy.

It is the height of hypocrisy to slander & insult people who desire a modeling career when YOU have featured on your page a video for "Fahrenheit Dior 1988 - Best Ad." Who do you think do you think you are featuring...a MODEL.

Models are important for news and print ads, magazines, editorials, catalogs, even cereal boxes. The modeling industry does contribute to saving lives. Consider public service announcements and world-wide awareness campaigns. It's not all about "perfume."
