I am fairly certain that Regis goal for WBA against Man.Utd in December 1978 was the goal of season 1978/79. Out of all of those goals, Mickey Walsh goal for Blackpool in1975 is my favourite.

If you are talking about the famous 5-3 thriller at Old Trafford which was in Dec 1978, that was covered by ITV so Big Cyrille's goal would not be part of the BBC GOTS competition which VirgLondon has kindly posted here. Regis' goal could well of won ITV's own Golden Goals competition but I am not 100% sure.

I can't believe Andy Peake's against Liverpoool didn't win in 81

Er, maybe because Morley's goal was better! Was also part of a hat-trick which made it special

Ok so he got a hat-trick in that game but that doesn't make one goal better though. Peake's helped Leicester beat league champions Liverpool when we had just been promoted so that made that special.

Plus Peakes was much further out than Morley's and looked harder to score from where he was - Morley's was only just outside the area.

I'm pretty sure that 3-0 win over Everton sealed the title for Villa.  Another reason why its better

Like I said, the goal of the season is based on the quality of the goal, and Peake's was quite clearly better.

I remember Andy Peakes against Watford, the goal where he took it about forty yards and just hit it. Dont remember his against Liverpool.......

@keithwellerlounge74 The Andy Peake's goal against Liverpool didn't win in 1981 just because It wasn't shown on BBC, but in ATV (ITV). He was selected in the golden goals on The Big Match
