  • I wonder if it will blend?

  • What type of end mill use?

  • Will it blend?

  • @MacsMedia will what blend?

  • who the hell cutted of han solos head

  • DEMBOW DEL FULLIN !! (ha ha ha, excellent suggested video YouTube, what keywords did that?)

  • ..but does it blend? That is the question.

  • @nic235235 does what blend?

  • @sandiegocadcam But the question is, will it blend?

  • @nic235235 LMAO nice one I see what you did there.

  • Great, now do the boobs!

  • NOT THE FACE

  • Ohh nice... How did you make the 3d face?

  • @nikolaiownz

    scanned 3d model.

  • mach 3 comes with my control board. Is that what everyone uses?

  • @minga86

    that is what i have.

  • I'm starting to build a small cnc router. How hard is it to program things like this?

  • @minga86

not hard at all. depends on the software you have access to.

  • Welllll done!!

  • Does it use Blender model file?

  • So the next time you buy something that says "hand-craft" online, gotta watch out!

  • Sorry to be rude: why can't anyone hand-make things anymore?

I can't stand things that are machine made. I love the slight imperfections and humanity of hand-made... anything!

Sorry - your machine looks great and smart and all... i'm just saying.

  • @williamstdog9 You took my comment! ;p I agree. It's time consuming, but art is human! We cannot surrender everything to technology >.<

  • this is cool!

i use to work with a laser trimmer which follows CAD tracking paths, some CNC machine, precision milling cutter and cyanachrilate printer...thats the top! but i still havent seen this one.

it would be pretty useful in building architectural models!

  • id love to be able to do this in full size tho would be awesome

  • nice CNC

  • what would michelangello or davinci think about this sophisticated machine?

    amazing

  • MAGNETO IS HERE

  • is that...George Washington???

O-o it kinda looks like him

  • Han is that you?!

  • @BW0B i was just about to type that!

  • 3D printer.

  • well its quite amazing ,

  • At first I misread the title...

I thought it meant a human head that was fossilized in maple... But then I forgot it would be in that amber stuff (Dried sap)

  • man... how did that head got trapped in there...

  • is that pointing out of pointing in

  • @djscottdog1 i would say out

  • NOOO!!! HAN SOLO!!!

  • Whoa trippy...

  • Damn That Thing is Accurate

  • Why are you in there? D:

  • it looks like micheal jackson lol

  • @antcowan same colour.......lol

  • They shoulda record the whole thing than make it faster.

  • Where can I get a block of maple? I live in Los Angeles?

and how did the old masters did it?

  • @Juanbuendia8 - do a search fro Frost Hardwoods. you can also buy it from internet sites.

  • @Juanbuendia8 well they weren't called "masters" for nothing

  • @Juanbuendia8 do it*

    SPELL CHECK POLICE

  • Was this milled with a vector map? Just curious.

  • @mrmikerotch - this was programmed with Mastercam.

  • @sandiegocadcam got a vid of it when its finshed?

  • Hi, I was wondering how you get your cnc mill to cut out a face like that? Where on earth did you get a CAD drawing of a face like that?

  • @pashabulker1 - you can scan files/objects, use software to create about anything. do a search for Vector Art 3d. that site has some amazing CAD files.

  • @sandiegocadcam

Hey what the file size of the Mach3 installer? more than 10Mb?

  • @pashabulker1

make em yourself. Use zbrush, or something similar. I find zbrush easy to learn and use after a while at it.

    do youtube watch?v=2WK8DOq91rw

  • How did you know that face was under that wood ?.

  • @fergawdsache jaaaaaaaaaaaa, very clever.

  • thats badass

  • thank you. it was a fun project.

  • thats what the face on mars looked like before nasa shot it with a phazor...you might want to hide that from nasa and there phazor..

  • :-)

  • just relying to let you know you have 14 thumbs up to this comment.

  • lol

  • lol llama

  • is the machine called a k2 router?

  • yes...K2

  • that he is this?

  • Very nice ! I'm actually starting to play with CAM software, but I don't have a CNC machine... Can You tell me what is the optimal finishing pass tool, to get a smooth surface? (and what's the overlapping for it?) Also- what's the best way to make a 2 sided object (so that the sides match)? Would be gratefull for the info :) THANKS !

  • tooling depends on the part geometry and smoothness you want to achieve. the part in the video, i used a 1/8 ball taper mill with a .01 step over.

  • @cubixthe matching 2 sides = mirror

  • Would this machine work on a real head?

I'd like you to do Harriet Harman on my wife's face if you can get her to sit still for long enough.

  • It's ok, I've just tried myself with a digital camera attched to a plasterer's whisk.

The results weren't pretty. Then again, I should have started with a better picture.

  • for a complete model, you would need a rotary unit attached to the machine that would act as the 4th axis.

  • @48soso I BELIVE THAT YOUR WIFE IS VERY UGLY IF WOU WNAT TO TRANSFORM HER FACE IN THAT PIECE OF ASS FACE OF HARRIET HARAMAN

  • bobcrap...never heared. I use Mastercam from version 9 to actualy version X3 . and it is the

best cam program in this price catergory.

    Cu

  • Would you share your G-code for this?

  • i found this pretty funny

  • the face came from a scanned human. the file format was STL originally.

  • Would you be kind enough to explain how you get the head to have the height, did you start from a picture or was it a bust.

  • What machine are you using? Is it capable of machining a golf club head do you think?

    THanks,

    GB

  • the machine is a small homemade router. not really what you want for a golf head. i am in the process of building a 5ax router that is much more rigid. i also have two haas machines.

  • boring video but good job man!!!

  • It is really so good .. Keep your work

  • for anyone that wants this file, i will not give the code because machines are different, so the code may crash your machine. i will give the file away. send me a message with the format you want the geometry in and i will send it.

  • sandiegocadcam, please check your messages

  • thats qaulity,im using and programing a 3axis cnc machine, record 130,id love to get my hands on a 5 axis!

  • bobcrap has never been on my pc. i use only mastercam from design to machine.

    bobcrap...what a joke.

  • bobcrap is way out of mastercam league.....are you kidding me jjluther19. i will take my mastercam and go against your bobcrap any day of the week to produce...well anything....more efficiently, quickly, etc....

    bobcrap...what a joke.

  • wow that is so cool would you care if i tried to cut it on my machine please?

  • What did you use for a vectorization/raster of the face image to import into MC?

  • I love it. I did something similar for the wildest part competition for MasterCam. It was lots of hard work and fun so I appreciate you showing us your talent in this video! I don't have one on YOUTUBE but if you look in Google keyword skorboard you can see how mine turned out.

    Exellent job sandiegocadcam!!!!

  • corpse face

  • I would like to see more of your work.

  • Lets "face" it, what you did is very cool.

  • lol corny puns are always funny.
