the tempo is too fast if you are unfamiliar with the original and have only heard the (no where near as good but still nice) Maxwell version. If you know the KB version this is perfect tempo as you have noted..

You have a talented voice, but this song is not meant to be so fast, your voice is not meant to be so sharp, and your singing should not be so emotionally empty.

She's no Kate, but this is better sounding than her original stuff. Work on your live mic technique a bit though hun, you need to back away when your volume goes up, otherwise it sounds piercing and shrill. Not bad for a beginner though, keep working on refining your music, and try and find a sound of your own.

Charlotte Martin is a trained opera singer, I doubt she needs your condescending "advice".

Well that explains the problem I mentioned, and why she needs to work on her mic technique. You see, opera singers don't use mics, and don't train to sing on mic. So if it's true what you say, that she is a "trained opera singer", then it proves my point.

She needs to work on her mic technique, thats constructive criticism. Watch ANY K.D. Lang video for great examples of perfect mic technique, watch her placement, her hands, and distance when her volume goes up,flawless.

This performance was recorded under unprofessional conditions, or else with inferior equipment, which is the reason the audience as well as the singer is generating distortion. That's not the singer's fault.

The composer of this song, Kate Bush, also invented the headset radio mic, where backing away when volume rises isn't even physically possible. If your electronics can't handle crescendos, then get better electronics. Because that's where the fault lies, not with the singer.
