Mt Feathertop would have to be the premier peak in the Victorian Alps, only slightly lower than Mt Bogong, but with more dramatic views. This is a great looking alpine peak with deep drops on both sides of the ridge. Can be reached from Harrietville, or on the windy exposed razerback track from Mt Hotham. I climbed it in late spring 2003, good clear views, and still a bit of snow, but now I must climb it in the winter for views like in this great video.

I climbed feathertop in 2006 in march (no snow) I really wanna go back there in the winter to experiance it, i went skiing at hotham that year. How was the cornice that year?

Can't people just appreciate the alpine environment WITHOUT a board? What a pristine environment. Snow in Australia .... that's all you need .... a camera and a view..... none of this "surf doggy dog" whatever its called.
