Let me preface by saying ABBA is my No.1 favorite group... ever.

That said, I have to disagree. Both Agnetha and Frida are awkward and neither have a very developed sense of rhythm. They seem to be stilted in their movements. I do not think any time was spent practicing and I see nothing "high powered" requiring fitness training. All else you said was spot on, though.

Hiya Steve - yes my outlook is somewhat restricted and biased towards them as it always will be. To me this looks better and much more energetic dancing than I've seen in any of their other performances that come to mind - partcularly from Frida who gets really carried away. Abba were well known for planning and rehearsing performances, so its unlikely this dancing would be originated on the night. It all depends what you're used to really, and I've not seen them dance like this elsewhere.

I suppose my point is that they look uncoordinated and "jerky" in their movements as though they are trying to dance from a flat-footed stance. Their performances were perfection, as in the 1979 Wembley concert in England.. From the videos, that was one high powered concert! What would I not have given to be front row center at that one.

Anyway, suffice to say we are both big time ABBA fans and miss them.

Cheers Steve, I have to admit I don't watch the concerts too often - but do have the "Abba In Concert" dvd (which I've not yet learnt  to extract from) and would have loved to have been there! Abba always said it was difficult to recreate their multi-layered studio sound in a live situation, so usually preferred performing to playbacks for tv.

This is one of their best performances lasting nearly 4 minutes of high powered action, not to mention the stunning outfits! They definitely needed fitness training for this - and Benny too!!
