I love the video, but why did the camera away from the main attraction? Sure, the audience may be a random group of tourists, but the focus of the ENTIRE video should have been on the Maiko. Other than that, loved the video.
Gorgeous dance. I especially loved the maiko. Not to say that I didn't like the geisha, because she was graceful and beautiful too; perhaps it was the maiko's look? Her kimono and hair? LoL..regardless, lovely video. The only shortcoming was the random trailing sweeps the camera would do of the audience.
I know what maiko means. And yes, there IS a difference between maiko and geisha. You said it yourself in your comment: 'maiko is just an apprentice geisha'. Therefore, I am not sure what it is you were trying to say, or what the point of your comment to me was. I was merely pointing out that I like the maiko's overall LOOK. Since you claim to know the difference between the two, you'll note that they have different hair styles, different styled obi, different hair ornaments.
They are from Miyagawa-cho!I really love the Miyagawa-cho dance style, but I like more the Inoue dance...

maiko is just an aprentice geisha. so you pretty much have to love both sence they are just training to become geisha, thats what maiko means.

Beautiful dance. But It´s a pitty, that the camera is showing the audience too and one can´t follow the whole dance.
