Hi Erin....it looks lovely....i just checked the MUFE website and I notice in this foundation after shade 42...the next shade is 44...there is no 43, which I think my be my colour (I have golden AND red undertones, sort fo bronzy, but still mostly golden).

I just purchased a MAC 187 and 190 for application of MUFE F&B. They both seem not to apply it that great. It's probably my technique. I wear a 12 and it literally disappears onto my skin. Any tips?

I have a yellow undertone and this shade matches me 100%. no other foundation has matched me so well. Not even MAC, none of their stuff does. i think u need shade #46 though because#44 is too yellow for u. 46 is like the next shade darker and there is very little differene.

Thank you so much for this review. I've been using the HD concealer for the past few months to cover blemishes on my face. I love it, but I've been wanting to know what I should use for the skin that isn't being covered by the concealer - something to blend everything in well without looking over the top. I'm going to the sephora store this weekend to get matched up for the F&B foundation.

What type of brush do you recommend? I am totally slow when it comes to makeup and ways of applying it.

The MUFE is more gel based and the MAC is more water based. They generally do the same thing though.

Also, when you're thinking of using this foundation on your body, it's a great help if you exfoliate the area's you'll be putting it on. Then mosturize with a lotion with Vitemine E in it, or put Vitemine E oil into the lotion. It makes all the difference, since i use body foundation a lot. =)

@chakazulu87 I am NW45 but I also use NC50 when I don't want it to look so red. For under eye concealer I use NW40. You want to only go one to two shades lighter.

I won Artificial Light and used to use it on clients when I worked for the company. I used to mix it in with moisturizer and applied it all over the face. But, I like to use powders instead for this effect. I'll play with it again and see if I love it more than I used to!

There is no doubt that you could go to a drugstore and get a foundation that will probably be sufficient on your skin, but the quality isn't going to be as good. Foundation is an investment!

How do you know when the sales associate is giving you the right information in picking the right color foundation?.., Half of the time I dont think they know what they are talking about which is really scarey...I live in New York and want to get the right help at Sephora. Did any of you guys have a good experience with a certain sephora and would like to share it with me so I can head over to that location. I am thinking about going to the make up forever flagship store on 12th street.

Well, HD basically starts off as a medium coverage foundation, you can sheer it down or build it up. I just love everything about it!!! F & B is sheer and instantly "dewy", I like that you can use it all over the body. HD is definitely my favorite.

I like that the 109 is more dense so I can buff it better. I'm having trouble explaining it lol. The 187 and 188 are great for liquids, creams and powders, but I would rather use it for powders. I have used it for all three. The 109 is my holy grail foundation brush!!

Hmm, actually any good cleanser should take it off. I have oily skin, and I don't want any more oil on my face! I just use my Clinique Gel Cleanser.

gosh, ur skin is perfect. i bought the mufe mat velvet + yesterday. the color looked too dark for me but the mua at sephora "matched" it to my skin so i bought it. i jumped when i looked in the mirror at home. it was a hot mess! how can you tell if the mua is actually matching u with the correct color?

you should take it back to sephora, a MUA matched me also and it looked great in the store tried it the next day it made me 2shades darker, took it back and another mua matched me with another one, i was told the mua had the right undertones but wrong color.

Erin, Thank you for you review on this foundation because its very accurate! It does not cover all imperfections as you mentioned however it is a great buildable one. This is a great alternate to the HD Foundation which I absoultely love & swear by because it matches my skin tone better than many other foundations that I've tried! ( I am #178 in the MUF HD Foundation and in MAC I'm an NW45) My neck is slightly darker than my face so I tend to use 4 pumps of HD to cover face & neck.
