  • Sorry,but that is a 1970's Microfret,not a 1968.

  • there was about 2500 Micro-Frets made. They were made from the late 60's to the early 70's out of Frederick Maryland. I've owned two and plan on getting another. They started remaking them a few years ago.

  • I used to think Micro Frets were amazing... then I played one. In all honesty the only reason i'd ever buy one is as a collector's item. The classic Micro Frets line is innovative but consequently it lacks in performance. The frets are too low, the micronut is fragile and completely off base, and the microphonic pickups have way too much bite to get a decent tone out of it. The only thing a microfret guitar is good for is fingerpicking, and most of their owners do little of that.

  • Does anyone know how many models Microfrets made?? Mine looked different from this one, and different from the Carl Perkins blue model. Wonder what I did have. Sold it about 1975, so I don't remember much except what was in my photo..

  • @whitt702 I think there were a handful of models. They were difficult to produce. Here is a good website. toneshed.com/microfrets/microfrets.html

  • Heartbreaker!
