Man, on my opinion, the scariest thing in a game is a monster that you can't fight, and can only run away from, therefore, F.E.A.R. and Amnesia scare me the most because of the inability to fight in amnesia and because Alma is a ghost, you can't fight her either.

I remember when Resident Evil 1 and Silent Hill 1 came to PlayStation 1... I was like 7 or 8 years old and I threw the control to my mom who had never even played the game before and she managed to escape from the first Zombie you meet in the dining room. And not to mention Silent Hill... My God. Big mistake gettin those games when u're a punk.

@gta99silverado Dead Space 2 is more polished and has smoother gameplay... However, Homecoming is a little more mature of an experience overall. It has better writing, a deep and lovecraftian storyline. I'd say it is far scarier than Dead Space, as well.

I'm a MASSIVE fan of Silent Hill.

The first Silent Hill on PS1 I thought was the best and the scariest, The second was not as scary but fun . Silent Hill 3 was pretty good, not scary - it had long gameplay.

Silent Hill 4 was a huge let down because you weren't really in the place.

Haven't finished playing Silent Hill origins yet but it is pretty cool,

Shame they killed off the original character, Harry Mason :(.

L4D2 was a fantastic game! fast action packed gameplay. Playing together with friends on expert vs hordes of zombies it rox!!! but It's not recommended for those who prefer horror. Silent hill 5 is creepy stuff. I love it :D but there's nothing wrong with L4D2. Great gameplay, graphics, sounds, and brilliant scripting from Valve who created one of the best gaming titles ever ``Half life´´ so It's almost impossible to say that the game is bad considering that It's not suppose to be horror.

No,its not bad.Its pretty good. Here's what i think:

lacks more and more clearer sounds.

Much shorter than the other games.

Has something missing,previous parts were sorta more art than a game,this is just probably not psychodelic like previous parts,but still great.

Still has good old school atmosphere.

Great new combat system

Great and strange monsters,once again.

Many options,hidden weapons,secrets

Few different endings...

Its very nice overall. :) Give it a shot,but NOT on PC,bad port :(

Nah. The first person view was just for the apartment room sections and it really worked for it. I really wouldn't mind seeing a first person Silent Hill... Aside from the Silent Hill series, I believe the best horror games are actually in first person. System Shock, Call of Cthulhu: DCOTE, Penumbra... Even games like BioShock and DOOM 3 have some great horror atmosphere.

I just got this game (have all the other ones too), but my god the combat feels clunky and annoying. Dodging is a farce, but the story and music are great. Yet I don't know if I am going to return it monday. 7/10
