i liked how they brought back the option to collect the chaos emeralds back in generations . it was my favorite part about sonic. if you guys really want a chaos emerald collecting rush, play sonic advance 1,2, and 3.

Did anyone else hate the mission of this on xbox 360 where you had to do it in a time limit. I don't know what's better this or Sonic Adventure 2/ Battle. SA2 story was really good, but the new Sonic levels were really good. I hope in Sonic Generations you can play as other characters because I really want to play as Shadow.

@HammerfhbTV dont let this fool you. it looks good because this guy is excellent at the game, but for an average player the daytime levels are frustrating cuz Sonic moves WAY too fast for the platforming and has sloppy controls, and you fall and die like easily. i still like it tho, and they inproved the daytime stages in Colors by making the controls tighter.

@NikoBelic4 stop bitching out, youd have to be blind to think the controls for the daytime levels in SU were as polished as they should have been- for ex. i tried drifting in empire city past a huge curve, but he slid too fuckin wide and fell out, so i had to slow down 2 go, and that poor level design kills the speed sense sometimes. but if you payed any attention I SAID that they improved the controls, gimmicks, and level design in Colors, so thats alright. Gen. looks great, DEF. a 1st day buy.

@NikoBelic4 Comparing this game to Generations, this has longer stages and hence more diverse. Generations has better controls, better visuals, better sound effects, no werehog and it is not so freaking fast that you can't see anything because of the motion blur. There are situations in Sonic Unleashed where you lose track of where you are, this never happened to me in sonic gens. They slowed down the pace of the game so you can control sonic better and enjoy the visual.

@Lilweezy I could care less Generations. The game is just speed, no more. This game had speed, combat and platforming and optional exploration. Not to mention upgrades for both the Werehog AND Sonic, hundreds of collectibles, stuff to buy including a TV, book case and record player which enabled you to listen to in-game music, view in-game cutscenes and read enemy and character bios. The story was good as well. Sonic Unleashed was the pinnacle of Sonic. Generations just doesn't have the magic.

@1BadAssArchAngelvs14 I heard of the Final Fantasy fanbase before. They must be bad, I mean really bad. They might rival the Crash Bandicoot fanbase from the replies I've had. If I may explain about the Crash fanbase, some have even complained about the player character's lips being different. And the more drastic changes are hated far more for no good reasons. The critics were horrible to Sonic. Not sure as to Final Fantasy, however.

@MegaGlassguy The reason people don't like change in Sonic is because it's usually not done right. Say in Sonic Adventure 2 you're blazing through City Escape and having a blast until the next level, where you're suddenly stuck in a slow moving robot that plays nothing like a Sonic game. It's not that people don't like change, it's that the change should enhance the existing gameplay instead of forcing you to do side things. You're right about Pokemon though since it changes less than Madden!

While I enjoyed the night stages in Unleashed, those stages just weren't 'Sonic' to me and should have been left out. The day stages in this game were pretty much perfect, though there were some control issues, notably the homing attack's lock-on sometimes not registering and thus you super-dash into oblivion instead.
