maybe the fucking cop shouldnt think that he owns the road and he should check that its clear to open his door???? how is that the truck's fault unless they have the law about moving over a lane for a stopped emergency vehicle. Even then, the cop is pulling someone over for breaking the law and should ALWAYS assume somebody else will break the law about moving over a lane and refuse to do that as well. Sometimes you gotta actually think about things before you do them, nd then not blame others

@Bbfishman Take a chill,mistakes happen!! Cop 's are human! There is a law that mandates everybody must pull over a lane for emergency vehicles!! I am a truck driver and I allways obey this law, and I allways do it for non-emergency vehicles also!!!

The trucker may not have been able to move over but he can use his brakes to slow down and let the other vehicle pass and then move to the left lane, the trucker should go back to safety class for defensive driving plus to jail and pay for damages. I drove truck for 25 years professionaly, trucker is clearly at fault here.

If you look the truck driver was in his lane and there was a truck in left lane he had no where to go. dumb ass cop probably had his door open and the driver could not see it.

many people dont know but if there is a cop car pulled over to the right should, If you cannot get the hell over to the left, then you need to slow down 20 mph under the speed limit. Just stupid how everyone in the world wants to be nosey while a cop is pulling someone over. Hey lets kill myself and 5 other people so I can stare at a guy getting a ticket.

That's true. However, there was a car in the left lane beside the truck when it passed the police car. It doesn't look as though the truck could move over.

@mmutk its not just in TN, its Everywhere now! but if you don't get a chance to move over you must slow down, the truck looks like it was not going fast, i think he slowed down, maybe the Breakdown lane where the cop stopped was way to tight and he didn't see the Truck coming when he opened the door. I don't believe the trucker did it on purpose, i believe its just an accident and the trucker probably didn't notice because the trailer hit the door. Thats plus the fact that is was night!

I ALWAYS check my mirror before I open the door into traffic. Its a good habit to have. Trucker may not have been able or had time to move over.
