I have a Kogan HD camera like this and it's absolute rubbish, will not focus and the sound quality playback makes a small am radio sound good!

Don't waste your money buy a brand name well known and you will thank me!

I just adapted a .5x wide angle converter to my Kogan and its awesome.  Just bought a 34mm macro and Wide lens from ebay, filed it down and she pressed straight in.

$299??? I spend more on lunches every fortnight. I own a TV and Film business and this is the camera I now use at home for family videos etc and its great little unit. If you want to get picky then know this, all these little camcorders are crap compared to real pro gear. To all the negative nancies, stop knitpicking stuff you dont know about.

This guy whinges too much, i'm looking into this camera, i currently have a sony camcorder, which i've had for 8 YEARS!!!! Image quality is poor... it is of course SD, with 8mm tapes, poor microphone, extremely grainy and unwatchable night recording.... This camera honestly would be a huge upgrade..

Well a video8 analogue camera would probably pretty crap by todays standards. But if you have a full 1080p TV or computer screen, you'll notice a significant difference in quality between a brand name camera and this one.
