Um. It's not really loosely based on the Zelda II dungeons. I'm pretty sure they intended to make it this way. That is why they titled the stage "Hyrule Temple". It's not that subliminal.
Not meaning to be rude in any way, but I find it funny how you talk about a lot of things most people wouldn't relate (such as the left side resembling the entrance of Zelda II's palaces and the Parthenon-like building in the background), but you don't talk about the music.
So... at 6:04 through 6:14, it only takes 10 freaking seconds to defeat the biggest boss in the game... Couldn't they have made it... you know, a bit harder?
in the background, the temple of time can be seen, witch, in legend of zelda OoT, this is where link got the master sword and gets teleported into the future. this is a part you missed
I KNEW I recognised that music from somewhere. So it was in Zelda II! I remember playing that game when I was 5 or 6 or something. It was hard as hell! I got to Death Valley and quit I think, lol...
And the temple in the background, IMO, Represents the Temple of time. If u look closely at the Temple, it has the same Stained glass window and in OoT.
you never mentioned how the palace music in links adventure is the same as the music in the temple stage.(zelda ii is the hardest zelda game that has ever existed and most probly always be but does anyone know that although it has the same link from the origenal, the zelda in zelda ii is a different person to the one in the origenal
oh god that freaking game was so hard..were he explains zelda's palace and stuff...once u died u had to start all over again from where the freaken princess slept...annoyed the heck outta me cus some of the places were really hard to get too X.X
I'm surprise he doesn't mention the music (being the most obvious give-away.)
Most of this stuff is pretty self explanatory for real Nintendo fans (who would be the target audience for this video ironically) but it still is pretty entertaining to watch.
Yeah but every zelda fan knows thats the temple of time from ocarina of time on the far right, so we hardly need history on that. What I want to know is why the stage is over hyrule. Maybe nintendo did this to score kos better
i never thought of that. i always just connected it with the temple of time because it kinda reminded me of a cathedral/church wich was what the temple of time looked like (in bothe OoT and TP)
Well, there's something that you could say you missed, but you really didn't because it's beta. Anyway, there used to be a yellow platform the was shaped like the elevator in Zelda 2, but the only difference is probably the fact that the platforms were pillars. It's not that that needed to be mentioned because it was just old, deleted beta.
I think the opening was like that because they didn't have enough technology back in 1986 to include all the necessary words. Like how the old man says, "DODONGO HATES SMOKE" or something...
you know, the hylian language is actually translatable into Japanese, which I'm sure could be translated into English. Perhaps the video could be updated with such information?
I've tried to translate that bit into Japanese, but some of the characters are just non-existent gibberish that aren't in Ocarina of Time's Hylian language, so there is no translation for it.
Look in 5:18. It says "Link" as your (default, obviously) name. It's from the original Zelda, Btw. (Wow, I thought that Link's name was seen first in Zelda II)
Its the default in all the games, Its in the game manuals that come with the actual games ("press A to make link slash his sword") and It's also kinda "pun'd" in "A LINK to the past"
Actually, the song that's played in the temple is a remixed version of a song from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. It was a sidescroller and not a lot of people played it. :P So there.
THAT'S WHY THE TEMPLE IS FLOATING IN THE AIR! I just realized why the temple is floating in mid air! it's because at the end of oot, after you beat Ganon, Zelda brings you in the sky and talks to you!
yeah, I just realized the temple. that's why I came on. every thing's pretty much the same except that the size is a little different and the color was changed.
if you look closely at Young links milk bottle for his trophy, it has hylian text. compare it to Japanese katakana and it looks like it could read RO N RO N MI RU KU (ron ron miruku or lon lon milk)

wow great vid!your uploading these ALOT faster and Im really impressed at the quality, first I thought "man this must've been rushed" but it actually came out pretty smooth except for the ending for a second I thought my computer froze, but other than that just great espacially the comparison between LoZ ll any way keep it up man your doing a great job
Since you mentioned it, I compared them. Sure, they are both tall Gothic Architecture type buildings and there is SOME resemblance in the circular design at the top, but not much otherwise. Not to mention, they really don't even have the same steeple design. So when you said that before I compared, I was considering deleting this, adding that comparison in and then reuploading the video, but now I'm not sure if it's worth it. I'll think about it and may do it tonight, but probably not.
Wow! I thought Hyrule Temple was only Zelda flavored with triforces and ruins. I have Zelda ll on GBA but I never though it had things related to the games. You rule the universe man!:D Your not a crappy capture device after all! (Joke there)

Dont forget.... the Temple of Time from Ocarina of Time is also in the background of Hyrule Temple. I'm surprised that wasnt mentioned.

The text explanation was mindblowing. I can't believe you found that one.

Wow! I thought Hyrule Temple was only Zelda flavored with triforces and ruins. I have Zelda ll on GBA but I never though it had things related to the games. You rule the universe man!:D Your not a crappy capture device after all! (Joke there)

Omniglot has a section on Hyrule text, you might be able to transliterate the text.

The text on the stage says: "watsunaharoi shahasenoki." I think.
