  • @OgdenMcNulty i think they had turned him off in the mix, you can see him playing with his amp and volume controls at various points. poor bugger

Rating amoungst Beethoven too Robert johnson and Rory himselvels as number one for my acount.. Sorry my bad english im from Norway Bremanger where Gerry mcavoy played a couple yers ago. Gerry is the closest person besides Donald you get and otherwise Nine below Zero Gerry have a great book you should read about Rory and himselves.

  • @Dieseldyrre True say! Rory was definitely a virtuoso! So much talent in those fingers!

  • I always wondered and still do how Rory could play this stuff and sing too.

  • I wonder why Page& John Paul Jones had never jammed with this guy.

  • im away to get my mandolin ....

  • Hammer! 2x live gesehen! Unvergesslich!

  • THIS IS AWESOME!!!

  • never woken up with bullfrog blues on my mind.

    All the Best

  • I notice that the varnish is worn off his mandolin just like it was worn off his Strat, so I guess the story that a.) he sweated a lot and b.) his sweat was so unusually acidic that it ate into the finish on his instruments, must be true. Unless this is just a really old mandolin.

  • saw him in the 80s ,lengend and irish full of pride ballyshannon man rocks....

  • rory eisai 8eos...rory 4 ever....!..

  • Jammin' with Gary Moore up there now, what a wonderful sound it must be!

  • Ah, Rory: the first concert I ever saw was Rory G opening up for T-Rex at the University of Manitoba in 1973. Gallagher didn't just blow away T-Rex, he mopped the floor with them, slapped them around and kicked their asses down the street. :>)

  • <3 it

  • This guy was unbelievable. Makes me want to drink too much alcohol.

  • Soberbo!

  • Those 8 tone deaf morons that hit the "dislike" button must be fans of William Hung.

  • gallagher god

  • HAHA! I actually went out and bought a mandolin on the strength of this song, it's gathering dust somewhere in the attic!☺ thanks for posting.

  • Com certeza está ele no andar de cima fazendo o bom e velho Rock'nroll

  • awwwwwwwwww yeh

    GIT DOWN!

  • Punk rock heart + prog rock talent + blues = Rory Gallagher. Saw him in concert 1970 with Taste. PA amps propped up on chairs. Different times.

  • 8 dislikes? What morons..

  • WOW i just discovered this guy he is AWESOME oh men those years were magic !

  • pure irish blues mastery thank you

  • why all instruments he ever played are so worn??^^

  • @rula42

He had a weird blood type that meant he had more acid in his blood. Which meant his sweat was more acidic...

  • lol rory never opens his eyes :p

  • @theicedman it's because he's not awake yet! he hasn't opened his eyes!

  • 8 thumbs down for the bad blue screen... come on guys... it was 1972!

  • How could 8 people not like him!!!!!

  • Bestest best! Rory on..

  • @sauerkraut44 Ah just noticed it's a compilation album. Not sure where it's from then...but nothing on youtube compares to it in my opinion.

  • The best version of this by far is the one on his album Big Guns...i can't find it on youtube, i might upload it because it is a lot better that all the ones on here imo.

Anyone know which one I'm on about?

  • klasse

  • I don't know where he got those red mic's, but I want one!

  • The bass player looks like Jerry Seinfield.

  • why is every blues video on youtube from germany?

  • I miss you Rory even if I am 24. Modern rock bands have so much to learn from this great man who made great shows even just playing his mandolin.

  • @iwasbornlate Nice username. Same here ;D

  • I wish that in bio film play John Cusack he will be perfeckt

  • 8 people just don't get it!

  • This a beat club

  • inoubliable,son concert a Nantes,la Beaujoire,en1972,sous chapiteau,c'était un ,super bon guitariste...

  • This is on "Live In Europe"...one of the first LP"s I owned. My oldest Brother bought it as a birthday present for me when I turned 12. I don't know if it's on one a re-released CD but I imagine it is. A truly brilliant musician, songwriter and a real inspiration to many. Left us way too soon.

  • why cant i find this song in any of his albums??

  • Comment removed

  • Wow Thats how to do it

Led Zeppelin was more than inspired / Total rip off's of rory infact.

    Keep on Rocking Rory.

    Danny P. London

  • just fantastic

  • I grew up with him - still great and amazing!

  • when seeing him do this track live in the seventies i was always amazed at the huge crowd response with fans stomping and clapping....to what is a simple tune with no big guitar, and drum sound....But that was Rory tapping into to your natural soul

  • 7 stupid party poopers need rounding up for my wicked amusement

  • great, great, great... thanxs from brazil, valeu!!!

  • Thanks for posting this. To my shame I'd forgotten about him - brilliant concert at the Rainbow around 1972. He gave everything and I wondered if the circle was going to collapse with the audience stomping along!

  • che potenza!!!!!!!!!

  • @tittarina I love that there are still alot of Rory fans. Whats che potenza? Im sure its something good.

  • I feel privileged to have grown up in N. Ireland and to have live, eaten and breathed Rory Gallagher. His concerts at the Ulster Hall were superb beyond measure. I have never seen anyone (with the exception of Jimi) who was part of his guitar like Rory was. What a natural and brilliant musician and guitarist.

  • @Beardfaceduncan Rory is the best! Its great to hear he still has many fans. What a joy to see him in Ireland. I saw him in Tempe, Arizona once. Amazing!

  • could not agree more....... when bands would not come to NI cause of the troubles Rory was there along with Horselips at the Ulster Hall

  • Great talent! GOD BLESS YOU RORY!

  • so versatile, such a virtuoso, such a great guy and performer

  • i cant help from stomp my foot like a crazy person every time i listen to this song!! thank you rory

If you look at the drummer and the bassist they're like

"Uhhhhh fuck, what do we do?....CLAP!"

  • magical,,been a rory fan since I was 13,,,,a lot older now,,but this is one of my favourites,,,he tears into that mandolin & his voice is brilliant...Rory,,,when I die & go to heaven,,first thing Im lookin for is the club/pub you're playin in....may you R.I.P

  • @khamdoun i got a mandolin because of this song hah

  • @Niquk I got a mandolin last week. I got it restrung today. I hurt my hand today before I picked it up from being restrung. But that did not stop me. I started learning today. LOL

  • @Niquk haha me to

  • @Niquk me too!

  • @Niquk Funny, so did I :))

  • @B00513433 i was there last year.it was amazing

  • Pure blues from the heart. R.I.P. Rory.

  • I was @ Thessaloniki - Greece @ 1981 .. i remember ..just down from his MIC .. Unique Performer ... Thanks Rory !

  • brilliant!

  • how i wish i was around back then!

  • god bless rory seen him in concert in 74-75. absolutely one of the all time greats

  • Immensely epic.

  • This is the first song i herd from him. my friend sent me this link and ive been a fan ever sense. been like 2 years now

  • Ireland needs this music more than ever! Bugger bono!

  • All I can say is, I saw him at the Open Air back in 1983 or 84, just one of the best concerts I have ever been, he was the main act Saturday night and because of all the delays it was 11pm and the organizers said we are sorry but he will be only allowed to play till 12, he played 4.5 hours, the actually had to carry him of the stage completely pumped out. A guy told me next day he saw him 17 times and it always was like that.

  • Lovely to hear this again. I don't think that I've heard it since I last saw Rory play it live.

  • Can't believe I missed this song waaaay back in that time

  • love his song

  • I love you Rory and I love you playing that mando too.

  • ....aye, Rory, what can I say....God bless man.

  • @Breyfart ... not that music is a competition but ... Rory was something else. Simply brilliant beyond words. God Bless that man indeed!!!! Hendrix called him the best in the world.

  • @DiamondGeezerDude he didn't.

  • @conor30000 Yes he did. When a journalist asked Hendrix what it's like to be the best guitarist in the world Jimi replied "I don't know. Go and ask Rory Gallagher."

  • @DiamondGeezerDude Thats because he blew Hendrix off the stage at the isle of whyte festival when he was playing with taste :)

  • I saw Rory Gallagher playing near my hometown of Dunmore East, Co. Waterford, Ireland, in 1974. Never forget it, he was on fire!

  • feel that bounce yaaalll!!!

  • Met his music in Germany early 1977s. Wow. He is in my collection until today...... .

Partially gone but never forgotten...... Like all of us one day.

  • I was absolutely OBSESSED with Rory Gallagher in high school...This was back in the late 70's... His records were some of those that got totally shredded on my old record player... Never forgotten...

  • Typical Irish Man...able to play every instrument he wants so

  • hey friend, the last phrase of yours "hope you like it" is I'm afraid redundant because if someone doesn't like this, he surely lacks one sense(hearing) and a vital organ(heart)

  • jimmi hendrix was asked how does it feel to be the best gatuirest in the world his reply was " i dono you would have to as rory gallagher" what a legend

  • goto love him

  • that's awesome. he knocked his bottom mic out at the end so he had to finish holdin the mandolin on his vocal mic. didn't even hesitate, just kept feelin it.

  • pantheon guitariste

  • What a great man! Most foreigners think of Bono when they hear 'Irish Music'. I feel a rage that could obliterate the entire planet because of this. Rory Gallagher is the greatest Irish man ever to pick up a guitar. Phillo close behind. Check out Ali and the Dts by the way. Top class blues band from Dublin following in Rory's footsteps!

  • Is that Bill Oddie on Drums? - LOL.

RIP Rory - a man true to his music who never once sold out and once scrapped a whole record before meeting with record reps coz he thought it wasn't up too par.

  • How have I never heard of this man before?? He's amazing!!!

  • @steveoneil78 enjoy watching and listening to his music, the rolling stones missed out on a genius though dont think he would have settled in,too much his own man, his music dvd has just entered the U.K charts at no 7

  • Always makes me smile.

    The man was pure.

Refused to let the bullshit turn him into a money hungry snake.

Love u Rory. True musician and poet.x

  • The Great Rory!!!!!

  • Never saw this before. Was something special to watch. A true performer!

  • @davidfoye he was born in donegal but raised mainly in cork.

  • so where was rory's home town cork or donegal?

  • @corcaigh77 i like to think Donegal but i'm sure you'll disagree after seeing your username :)

    But it doesnt really matter
