always some dislikes, how can you dislike this? What is it? Is it cruel for the kitten to have hair coming out of the ear and the owners do nothing about it?
In my experience, when you introduce a new kitten or cat into a home, you should always pay special attention to the older cat. It helps them feel as though they are not being replaced and also helps them in accepting the new kitten.
I know this has nothing to do with the video. But I got to say I love your screen name. "LLLEEEERRRROOOOYYYYYY JJJJJOOOHHHHNNNNSSSSSOOONNNNNN!" Not sure if you play World of Warcraft but just made my day.
You are so very lucky. My three year old female cat totally dispises the kitten, although it's already been five months. I wish they could do something like this .
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! That may have been the cutest video I've ever seen on Youtube, or any other site. It's just amazing how sweet and loving animals can be.
I dunno why, but I introduced a new cut to my old cat, they didn't get to well together. BUT as time went by, they got close. But every time I get near them, the old cat pretends to hate the new one. I don't know why lol
awwwww so kute i just got a 4month kitten 2days ago and ive allready have a older cat shes 11 and there in no relations will they ever be friends? and there both females and oh is the kitten related to ur older cat ? very cute vid ty for sharing ! ^u^ plz message or reply back ty :D.
I've found if you hold a new kitten and get your scent all over it then your own cat's will accept them more quickly......that's just my experience.....this video is soooo precious......I have a giant tuxedo male cat that thinks he is instant mother to all incoming babies.....but my other two are more standoffish.....they chill out after the new baby takes on the familiar scent of the family here.....so full of love they area...... :)
That is so sweet! My cat hates our new kitty. We've had the kitten for 3.5 months now and our cat still hates her. It doesn't help that the kitten (Jasmine) has no fear and chases Belle around the house.
we got 2 new kittens in the house (we found them homeless in the streets ) but our older cat keep getting aggresive to them... the older cat has the ability to kill them so we sepereted them.
tLeroyjohnson124, how long did it take for your older cat to accept the new cat?? I brought home a new kitten yesterday, and my oldest cat did not like him and hisses and strikes at me because i brought the new russian blue kitten home. How long does it take to adjust to a new addition?? My oldest cat of 14 years had to be put down recently, because of a wide variety of illnesses that started from Diabetes, and then affected his muscular system, and had a weak kidney and liver, and eye problems.
@renegadebiker24 it takes as long as it takes. keep them apart initially i.e. different rooms and gradually put them into the same room together supervised for longer and longer periods of time. try and edge their feeding bowls together gradually too. it takes time and a lot of patience but it'll happen. just remember the kitten is in the older cats territory so while the kitten's cuter, the older cat was there first and will be much more stressed than the kitten
I got a new cat today, a russian blue named sampson, and he and midway are not getting along, any tips??? I have put Midway, my oldest cat into the cat carrier until she can accept him. Does anyone know how long it takes???
if someone knows anything about catbreeds please come to my channel and watch my latest video. this is not to promote myself im just looking for this specific cat breed please someone help me out thanks
How sweet, i had this trouble when i moved back home to my mums for a while i had my cat baby with me she was only a few months old but my mum has two cats from before i moved out, my mums eldest cat refused to accept my cat, then one day i came out the living room to see my mums cat lickin baby on her ears it was so sweet! if you let them work out their differences on their own without forcing them they will eventually become friends, might take a bit longer for some cats.
ive got a bit of an issue atm. the resident cat is 2-3 months old, and the new cat is roughly 2 years. problem is, i also have a pom, who despite having one toe removed by the combination of a cat's claw and vet work, and her top eyelid split on one eye, doesnt understand when a cat is saying "STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME, MUTT!" and refuses to not go over and sniff the new cat unless i either yell at her, swing something like a newspaper at her, or throw something at her. i cant leave this
What about having a squirty bottle, filling it with water, every time the dog goes to go near the cat just squirt her a little bit with the water, she will think twice about it next time! :-)
@SuperKing613 Go take some anger management classes! Or maybe some Martial Arts classes and try picking on real men! You are picking on somebody who filmed two cats being adorable. Whos the pathetic little worm now? Duchebag!
We've had a few bumpy moments when it came to introducing a new kitten to our other felines...lucky for us, our Henry LOVES kittens, so we usually start out with him. Once he accepts the newcomer it's all uphill from there.
Hissing isn't too bad. It means "too close" or "too intense." Don't correct the older cat -- he's not hurting the kitten. Let time take its course and make sure you fondle and love your old cat more than ever so there's no feeling in him that he's being "replaced." Feed them in different places, give them separate litter boxes if you can. Email me if you continue to have trouble. I'm not an expert, but may be able to make a suggestion. Good luck!
@yelloworangered But it's not hissing! It is just making that extra articulated purring sound of utter enjoyment! The same as when you comb your cat or has found a way to please it utterly. It's also, occasionally heard when feeding.

Good luck!

You should only give a cat a bath if she's got fleas or mud and soil or smells funny cos they are generally very clean.
