We, as the people, have invested a lot of money in the government. the government therefore carries a lot of responsibility. As opposed to scrutinizing only the private sector, I feel that the government really needs a large, overdue audit. It's basically a large and inconsistently regulated corporation. It's a joke now. As the people, we should be able to demand and expect that the government run like a well-oiled machine instead of this lazy mammoth.

Oh dear; the facts say differently. Scandinavian are freer than America's, and they are amongst the top 10 freest economies in the world as shown by the Heritage Index of Economic Freedom. Labour markets, capital markets etc are all freer than America's and Europe's. According to the World Bank Ease of Doing Business Report, Scandinavian countries are in the top 20 in the world for ease of business. They have high taxes because their people voted for them. Capitalism has been subverted by our bought politicians who turn a blind eye to needed enforcement of anti-trust laws that were intended to prevent monopolistic (corporatist) abuses. Also, the corruption in our government began in 1803 with Marbury v. Madison, although it could be argued before then with John Adam's scandals.
What Marbury v. Madison did was that it legitimize the government to behave outside of the defined literature of the constitution as it is not stated in the constitution that the supreme court will have the power to have official, legitimate, and undisputed clarification over the interpretation of the constitution.

Ron Paul is wrong regarding healthcare. I Denmark we use 9% of GDP on healthcare, and we have the system Ralph Nader is advocating. For years the US has been hovering around 15% of GDP to pay for a private healthcare system. You may not see the Federal Reserve as being vital, but we fail always to realize the difference of people as individual and that what one person deems to be vital may not be seen vital to another person such as having Social Security or Medicare. A lot of us think both are very vital, but there are people who not. And this because we disagree on policies due to the differences in our beliefs. Rather than seeking to see eye to eye in understanding each other, we confuse the issues in vitality.

Ron Paul is wrong regarding healthcare. I Denmark we use 9% of GDP on healthcare, and we have the system Ralph Nader is advocating. For years the US has been hovering around 15% of GDP to pay for a private healthcare system. The government can take care of thing without turning them to dust, it just depends on WHO is in the government. Otherwise, I agree with Paul on most issues, and see him as a no-brainer for a presiden who doesnt just want to kill people.

I always love to see coalitions such as these. Contemporary "Progressives" (who are actually closer to social democrats than progressives) need to understand that when Libertarians reach out to them, we are not always trying to convert them. Today I am obsessed with politics and I still love both of them. If they ran together that would be the best possible chance I could imagine for the United States and the world to come through the next decade better than we're going into it!
