All the shitty Euro nations (excluding Germany, France, Spain, Italy) take Eurovision SO seriously. No one give a scheiss outside former Warsaw Pact/Eastern Bloc.
So- for me a German- Graham Norton is very very funny- better than Julian Clary or that dreadful Ben Elton. Definitely one of the best British (I know he is Irish) comedians- and this is from a German who remembers Ronnie Barker and Fawlty Towers very clearly.

I would be interested to know whether Graham Nortan, as a gay man, is comfortable with supporting Eurovision given that the Mayor Moscow has stated the following:"The Moscow government is saying: Moscow has never had gay parades and it never will," said Mayor Yuri Luzhkov's spokesman, Sergei Tsoi. "Not only do they destroy morals within our society, but they consciously provoke disorder which threatens the lives of Muscovites and visitors."
In such an economical downturn...who would turn down the chance to make money! Also, Terry, and no doubt Graham, more often than not, mock most of what the Eurovision is/stands for (entries, production etc.)
