So you don't have to switch out the R4 cartridge with the Max media player cartridge to access the files on the dock. Which would be very convenient during trips because you won't have to carry any extra cartriges.

Not bad. On the CycloDS Evo there's an option to boot from the Slot-2 device, but I'm not sure if there's one on the R4.
