It's very nice, kept in the way she wanted it when she gave it to the National Trust, many years ago. As a rule, you're not allowed to take photos there. But it's better when you see it in person, anyway.

My Mom was a big fan of these stories when she was a little girl, and I always enjoyed hearing her tell us the stories when me and my siblings were all little. We owned a copy of this video, and I always found the intro to be very enchanting!

This breaks my heart and fills my heart with so much joy at the same time. It makes me so nostalgic of my childhood like everyone else. I remember sitting at home at 5 in the afternoon as a 4 year old watching this. I think even then I was in awe of it.

I don't know what happened, time just ran away from me, and I wish I was back there, but now I am here... grown up and crying at how overwhelmingly beautiful this video is.

this spledid series truely captured every page of Potter's charming little books...the animation is breathtaking..and the voice talents just perfectly cast. I especialy enjoy the opening shots of the Lake District and all those beautiful wild animals of the English countryside ...childrens television at its finest...I manged to get this series on a box set of DVDs on Ebay...need I tell you..they get a lot of play...perfect family viewing!

I admired this so much, that I would imitate this intro and sit in the sun by the lake close to my house, painting the scenery, while my cat sat right next to me and watched me paint.

Would anything like this be successful on TV nowadays?

Kids now only want videogames with lots of action and fights and guns and bright-coloured pokemons and stuff, and with all that they get all the wrong ideas of what is the world outside. They live in a dome called "Home" and if they do get outside they don't run and climb trees an fall and get scratched and keep on playing, like we did!

Being a child 20 or 30 years ago, was definitely a whole different story... A better one I would say...
