  • just wondering i was told to remove the skin from the chicken cause it was

bad is this true? i really wanna start my 12 month old pitbull she is 57 lbs

and i was wondering how can i start her off with this diet and how much to feed

her i'd appreciate your help i'd like to know how you feed your staffy if you can message me and give me some info =]

  • @xxoncenothingxx Take a look here for more info

Get hold of "Give your dog a bone" by Ian Billinghurst... I based most of what I did on what he wrote and it worked very well. The only unusual thing was that my dog preferred to eat the raw chicken once it was frozen rather than raw. She preferred the texture of the frozen meat to the slippery raw meat.... skin was always on as well.

  • ok,I hope is truth...:) did you give her harts.... my staffy is 3,5 hi lovs raw harts :)

  • Hi,your Matilda is very lovely.dont give her chicken bones, pleeeeeease.Chicken bones are dangerous, because when they break, they form sharp edges that can perfurate the dog´s intestines.

  • The bones are sharp and brittle after cooking - dogs can safely eat raw bones though... ask any vet.

  • correct, my very same thing. I ignored him till it wrecked my german shephards intestine. Good info not to be ignored. Very lovely looking staffie

  • Did you clean that mat where she was eating?

  • yes of course, that was always a problem!

  • How do you mean? Most of her food is raw - she has a BARF diet

  • it's raw chicken... there is a big difference. you should never feed a dog cooked chicken bones because as you say - it's very brittle... the raw bones are easily digested though and a vet will tell you how it's safe... so just don't feed your dog on KFC!!

  • Isn't chicken dangerous when you eat it raw?

  • dogs are better able to cope with bacteria than humans, but even so this is extremely fresh meat...

  • lol so cute :p

  • it was frozen solid so that's why it was tough

  • true that

  • she looks like my staffie lola...she's gorgeous! we're planning on getting another staf soon & im really liking the name matilda!! :D

  • i agree, dogs can live off raw meat and bones just fine if thats your choice. only cooked bones that are a no no

  • I always thought that chicken bones shoudnt be given to dogs. But then tell that to a fox.hmm

  • lol you should c how quickley my staffy would make that disapear he would love it

  • you shouldnt give your dog something with the bone still in it because then they can choke

  • Take a look at barfworld (dot) com

What do you think dogs were eating before canned food in supermarkets? Note that the bone is raw and not cooked - if it was cooked then it would be dangerous as the bone would be very brittle...

  • your dog is lovely, is she a puppy?

  • Matilda is nearly 7 now! Look at matildathelittlestaffie (dot) com

  • also dogs are carnivores genius, what's a dog supposed to do when they kill prey? cook it over a roasting fire? Dogs are in the wolf family, it's not going to hurt them, just like how cats eat birds and mice.

  • shows what you know, the vets tell you kibble because they make a profit out of it. My dog is on the raw diet and has been for years and has never gotten sick. Raw diet means less vet trips, vet looses money.

  • your dog suck

  • A friend of mine has a boxer named Brooke. It's not safe to give Brooke a whole raw chicken wing, because she has the habbit of just swallowing things whole and then getting sick.

But i totally agree. feeding raw meat to cats and dogs is a great idea.

  • That's completely wrong. What did they live on before Pedigree Chum was invented? Look around on the net for information on the BARF diet - Bones and Raw Food. What is dangerous is feeding bones after the meat has been cooked - then the bone can easily splinter. Raw bone is fine though - as you can see - and she is 6 now and has eaten this stuff most of her life...

  • nice poo poos after that one
