Thats pretty big. Makaha is so fun to bodyboard though. the only part I don't like is the fact that they all break right. Its just too hard for me to ride.
Ok to everyone saying this is huge or tiny. This is solid 6-7 foot Makaha. Now for all you haloes saying its wayyyy bigger, thats because 7 foot hawaiian style is about a 14 foot face. Makaha is a slightly challenging wave even when its 3-4. BUT i would have much rather seen them short boarding. SUPing is just not my thing....WE GO SURF!!!
7 feet on the biggest sets. If that's big, Then I've ridden BIG SURF. And I'm no big wave rider. The biggest I've ever ridden is.... I dunno, 4 x's over head. I'd call that 15 feet. maybe 18. But I've never ridden anything bigger. But then again, I was usually the only one out. So it's hard to tell. When you jump up, and go over the edge, and your looking down on the beach, I guess that could be considered big. Central Calif and Baja.
About a s big as a good day at Aramoana New Zealand, except Aramoana waves are slightly less powerful but far better in shape and ride.... and a hell of a lot colder!
