I would agree on all but the broader range. The moultrie wins that one also. The SG550 is a little tough to aim and it seems to be angled a bit more than most cams. I have 1 I40 that still maintains a 1 sec trigger but the other is closer to 3. The SG comes in at 1 sec.
i agree with 3rd marineDiv, the day time is tough to compare, but the nighttime seems like the i40 has a broader and brighter range. i just ordered the i 40 but heavily considered the 550, just couldnt find a reputable dealer to order it from. read that the 550 has a superior trigger speed and broader field of detection.
The color ones are hard to compare due to one being taking in fall/winter and the other looks like spring. Time of day, daylight amount can affect comparison.
Looks like the Moultrie has a braoder IR light zone than the scout guard.
I think the scout guard is real tiny so that has some ability to be more hidden from thieves than Moultries bigger box.
Either one looks fine but I own D40 and IR 40 Moultires and feel they do an adequate job.
i use both, and there is no comparison! the i40 has a 5 second default at night and the size of a small lunch box. the scoutgaurd can b set for almost as long as u want. the i40 still scares game when set up close to scrapes. the deer still see the 850nm leds, so i pulled the scoutgaurd apart and switched them all over to 940nm. totally invisable! no red glow at all anymore. i can put it right in there face and they dont even know its there.
the test isn´t fair different location on cams and different time of year !!! i´ll guess that u are selling the 550 and dont want competition with the I40 . becuase my I40 takes good pictures
it would have been better to have them side by side instead of different areas.. that way one could compair the colors.

I don't sell either one. I have both and just used this to compare video quality between the 2.
I actually like the video from the I40 slighty better than the SG550.Altho the SG's seems more fluid. But for its size the SG does a great job.
